I've been going here for over two years. Ben not only owns the shop, but he also runs it on his own. He isn't your typical cashier that will try and sell you anything to make a quick buck. Ben is a great guy.... But the prices are different every time... Sometimes I'll pay $15 for a premium bottle of juice... Same juice next time is $18... More consistency would warrant a better rating. He caters to a lot of younger military customers as well. I really hope their Commands do not find out they do business with a shop that reeks of marijuana. Sure it's probably medical... and legal as of 2018. Unfortunately these young military guys don't actually realize they are government employees and aren't allowed to be affiliated with that. DO NOT GO ANYWHERE ELSE FOR ALL YOUR VAPING NEEDS! In my opinion, there is no better vape store than No Butts About It & here's why: I found out No Butts About It! from my boss. I recently bought a starter vape pen in hopes of kicking the cig habit and due to the nicotine content of the oil I had purchased with the pen, found myself not using it and still smoking cigarettes. So, I asked for a referral to a vape place from my boss, who sent me directly to No Butts About It. As a newbie to the vape culture, it can be overwhelming to walk in to a vape store and have nothing but questions. I walked in to the store and felt a little lost, but my mind was immediately set at ease when Ben walked up to greet me. Ben is, hands down, just a really nice person. He's super knowledgeable about everything vape and was super helpful in tasting different oils and recommending a nicotine level for me, based on my smoking habits. Debbie joined us a few minutes into my shopping experience and she, too, is one of the nicest people you could ever meet! The 3 of us talked about flavors, other people's preferences when trying to quit smoking cigarettes, etc. Debbie brought out her vape and even taught me some new vape lingo! (I learned what a "mod" is - the pen or battery pack portion of the vape - yes, I'm very green to vaping) Ben and Debbie did not every try and oversell me, which I appreciated. I did end up buying a new tank (which was a step up from what I had been using with my starter pen) and 3 different oils. They talked to me about the differences in mods, but really stressed I needed to first get of cigs, AND use my vape before I went crazy on a new mod purchase. Both Ben and Debbie were so encouraging - and invited me to call or come back in to see them if I have massive cravings. What sweet, nice, caring people. Above all, they are GENUINE! As I was leaving (and was in the parking lot), Ben yelled out to me from the business, "Kelly!" I turned around and he said, "Wait, I have something else for you." Walking back towards the business, he came out and handed me a new pen-style mod, as my mod was not completely charged at the time of my visit! I have NEVER had any business treat me this well - they treat their customers like family. I really felt they have my best interest at heart with my new endeavor and it's amazing how such a small simple gesture can really make your day. My boyfriend and I are slowly getting into vaping - as long as I live in San Diego, I will never go any other store besides No Butts About It - Ben and Debbie have made a customer for life! Great shop, with a friendly staff that has some of the best knowledge among the many shops I've visited...unfortunately that's not saying a lot, but it's because there are so many college kids completely disinterested in customer service out there. I stopped by a couple times before actually finding the place open (part of the reason they lose a star), but once I did I found an enthusiastic owner pumping out product to the military guys who seemed to be constantly flowing through the door. What impressed me - there's a mix of clones and genuine products available, and the guy working the counter had no problem with knowing what was legit and what wasn't, and he has stuff priced accordingly. Most people I've met have no idea that there are $200 devices and $40 devices that are 99% similar, and they're either selling Fasttech knockoffs for the price you'd pay for a legit piece or intent on bashing anyone who doesn't have the cash to blow hundreds of dollars on what's essentially a metal tube with a spring and a couple contacts. Prices seemed to be mostly in line with what I'd be willing to pay - 20-30% higher than you can get something online from a U.S. vendor, 50-60% higher than if you'd imported the item yourself from overseas (and waited weeks and weeks and weeks for). I was impressed with this (there's no problem giving a local a few extra bucks to keep the lights on as long as you're not getting scalped), and made sure the guy working the counter knew I appreciated it. Contrast that with the shop that just moved into my office park, where they're getting $25 for a battery (Sony 18650 VTC4) that's inferior to one I can get shipped two-day mail for less than half the price (2 Sony 18650 VTC5's in a travel case for $20). 100% or more markup over US vendors, 200-300% over Chinese vendors seems to be the norm, which is why I do a ton of browsing but very little buying at most other shops. I picked up a couple vials of juice, and while it kills me to pay almost $1/ml for the good stuff, it seems $12-14 for 15ml is about standard for a brick-and-mortar and No Butts is on the low end of that spectrum. Will definitely be back, only avoiding a repeat trip because I've already got about 500ml of juice that I need to burn through before I can justify any more buys and there's this Valkyrie hybrid clone I've been drooling over that, if I can get guy to sell it to me for within $5-10 of what I can get it for online, will be leaving in my pocket. read more

Just thought I would write an update since I have been going here a lot over the past six months or so... So, here is the update: Ya, this place is totally real and legit! I have been here about ten or so times since my first visit and nothing has changed (and that is a good thing!) Service is top notch! The owner really knows his stuff! There is no over sale or anything like that. If you are new to the vape experience, he will take the time to walk you through the process to set you up with what suits your needs. If you are experienced and just need supplies, it's as easy as walking in to get what you want and getting out fast. All I can say is this business is true and honest with quality, price and service. Now, after reading other reviews, I just must feel that I need to say this little bit again.....Ya, you can find things online for a 'slightly' less price. However, once you consider in shipping cost and time, along with zero personal service, you are not saving anything. Here you get what you want with excellent personal service on the spot! Nothing can beat that! It is a true mom and pop store, and a local business. I don't see myself going anywhere else, based on all the things I stated above. This is my favorite place in town! I have been to several! He has the best, consistent prices, always has new stuff coming in. He has a great selection of mods, tanks and juices. It's ok, hard place to get to for the most part. They sell mechanical mods mostly and I look for VV/VW mods mostly. The selections isn't very big from the mods and juices. The place is fairly clean but does have it's share of people that hang around the place.
