This is my second escape room, but it pales in comparison to my previous experience. Firstly, there…read moreis no air conditioning in the building. Secondly, the building was out of toilet paper when we arrived, so we had to use paper towels to use the restroom. The escape room itself was lackluster. Given an hour, we clocked in at about 45 minutes, but would have solved it in under 30 if not for a lock that refused to unlock when we entered the code. We had to have the host (owner?) come help up unlock it and even she had trouble and admitted that many people had trouble with the lock. It seems to me that a $15 lock could be replaced quickly and easily to make it so guests can solve the room as necessary. One thing I enjoyed about the previous escape room was the many twists and turns and misdirections and dead ends. This room was predictable in that there were many locks that needed to be unlocked, we just had to figure out which combination opened which lock. The progression was also very linear, meaning that one lock usually led to the clue that opened the next, which opened the next. If you got stuck on one part, you couldn't really find an alternate route to solve the task. Finally, our success was met with no fanfare. At our previous escape room (and many others I've heard/read about) there was a celebration/reward for completing the room in under an hour. At the end of this room we were told to come back for 20% off the other scenario escape room they had, then ushered out the door.

That was fine since two of us (myself and my fiancé) were seasoned Escapers and our two friends had never been. It was a great room that was exactly what I expected and absolutely fit for newbies and experienced escapers alike. It was a perfect taste for those getting their feet wet for the first time . Both of the beginners in our group were hooked after that!! We cannot wait to go again together. We've now converted two more to the "dark side" lol. Aside from the experience, we got a chance to speak to one of the co-owners and Game Master. He was very friendly and informative! Actually....he was so awesome that my fiancé and I decided, on the 5 hour drive home, that we were going to open our OWN Escape Room one day (hopefully)!!! Keep up the great work. If we are in the Auburn, NY area from the Auburn area of MA- we will ABSOLUTELY do the harder Exit Protocol or Mysterious Potion Rooms!!

Although it's a bit tricky to locate, because their sign was blown away- we saw the name at the bottom of the list just inside the front door. We were greeted by the owner/employee when we arrived. The area is clean and well-kept. This was a very exciting and thrilling experience for us! My wife and I and our two daughters age 14 and 12 thoroughly enjoyed it. She gave us 1 sheet of paper, walked us outside to another building that was dirty and smelled like garbage & mold. She put 4 people in a really small room that could not fit 8 like they said. 30- 40 min in the lady comes into the room and said "I dont think you have one of these cards in here. " she hands us a business card and said "you can definitely can get out if you have this card." She closed the door and didnt leave the building because she knew that we would try the number on the card. There was no riddle within a riddle...no extra locks, no glow in the dark arrows. SUCKED
