I"ve always wantsd to scuba dive and I am so thankful that I found No Limis Scuba in a Google search. The No Limits staff were nothing but helpful and informative throughout the booking day before_of process. I was able to sign up for a beginner class in the pool for just $35, which was amazing and so worth it. Unfortunately I entered in the incorrect address for the pool and ended up arriving almost 15 minutes late. The instructor told me that it was just me in the course and so I could reach out to the office to reschedule. I told him this was no problem and then I asked if I could still swim? He told me that I could and I am so glad that I waited as one of the instructors, Chris, was available to help me. He gave me a one on one class on how to put on my gear and scuba dive. Scuba diving is not pretty as you got stuff coming out of your nose and mouth, but it is pretty and calming when you are underwater breathing and the rest of the world seems so far away. I loved every minute of this experience especially once I got used to breathing through my mouth and holding my nose to let my ears pop. I swam in seven feet plus, which was difficult at times, so I love that Chris was happy to have me swim in the shallower 4 feet. Chris waa super kind, patient, and fun; I really appreciate his time!! I definitely want to get certified as I want to do this more and more. Most likely due to time and funds it wont be until the fall, but I will be back! Thank you! read more

The people are wonderful!! I've been here a few times now. Rosie has been our go-to person! She is kind, patient, extremely helpful. She is Knowledgeable and she never pushes any sales in us. I've also been helped by Brittany via email and she has been responsive, timely and helpful! A few of my friends have completed their open water with them and had great experiences. No Limits Scuba - Days 1 and 2 of our open water scuba certification completed! - Scuba Diving Near Me - Tempe, Arizona

I'm going to have to side with the vinyl on the window. NLS does open at 10am M-F, and thankfully for me, my second excursion to this unexpectedly spacious scuba store was fortuitous. Walking in, I executed the traditional panoramic overview, sweeping my head from left to right, at which point I noticed Sheldon. Throwing him a head-nod, I offered up a "What's up?" that probably sounded more like "S'up". That is the bane of being raised on the streets of suburban Massachusetts, where the kids who weren't allergic to bee stings called the shots, and would gut you as soon as look at ya. I mean, I wasn't actually raised ON the streets, but I did spend a fair share of my time playing near them. I've been to a handful of dive shops here in the valley, and NLS has one of the larger showrooms. Their assortment of gear isn't as vast as say, Sports Chalet, but its not a corporate conglomerate... and although I'm pretty sure I used that word incorrectly, as an adjective, it provided the appropriate amount of disparagement. Interesting note... purchases over $700, if made through an approved GE Capital line of credit, will enjoy a full Gregorian calendar year of deferred interest. Combine that with the 10% discount extended for being a club member, and that, my friend, spells savings. For example, the regulator, oct (the yellow line and breather), wireless tank transmitter, and gigantic wrist computer I'm looking at run about $1900 combined. Subtract the 10%, and divide principal-only payments over 12 months, factor in sales tax... minus the amortization, carry the two... OK, I think we can all agree, I'm no math whiz. But, if you purchase a regulator, you'll get the Equipment Specialist course for free. That's a total prize package worth over $160 US... and I'm gonna do it... and not just because I said I was going to do it in this review... although that is mostly the reason. And if lake diving aint yo thang, then stop by the trip and travel kiosk, located conveniently in the west wing. NLS hosts monthly trips to San Carlos MX for only $599 pp based on double occupancy. Here's the kicker. You ain't staying in some musty hotel. No my friend, your accommodations are located in an oceanfront luxury home. That's how Antonio Banderas would roll, and gosh darn it, why should your roll have any less butter than his? Two days of 3 tank dives are included, with an available third day of room and diving for a modest up-charge. Have a little more chang-chang in your pocket, then consider Honduras. Not only are they know for cigars and the flesh trade, but their diving is unparalleled. Two words: shark diving. Get up close and personal with the spiney blast-bots of the sea. Only $1650 pp based on double occupancy. All trip deposits are $500 min. All gear can be rented at NLS. I'm happy to have a shop, close enough to my house, to call my own. P.S. That same GE credit card can be used at Global Bikes too. read more

This place is as good as it gets. Every single person we have dealt with here has been amiable, accommodating, patient, fun, and kind. We did the first portion of our scuba certification with NLS and couldn't be more pleased. Andi and Derek are great scuba instructors, we felt totally comfortable with them and never felt rushed, or dumb for asking potentially dumb questions lol. Even the instructors we didn't have seemed really cool. Leslie, who gave us our 'classroom' instruction, has a great personality and made it as fun as he could've. No one as NLS ever hesitates to help in whatever way they can, and are all very approachable and knowledgeable about all things scuba, as one would hope lol. My son completed his Open Water Certification today. What is amazing is how flexible the No Limits Team is. We had signed my son up a few weeks before the state went on lockdown. Chris emailed us saying that they had made arrangements to conduct the knowledge review and confined water sessions on May 9-10. Not ideal being Mother's Day weekend but after being locked up for almost 60 days you'll take what you can get! The knowledge review and pool sessions were all conducted while following Social Distancing protocols - very impressive. The open water portion was completed on May 16-17 and my son's instructor, Thea, happily accommodated our request for early morning dives. both days, everybody was in the water before 7:30 AM. Beating the weekend Lake Pleasant rush is HUGE, especially considering that our lockdowns are lifted and it seems as if half of the state's population has decided to spend their weekends at the lake. The decision to have my son work towards his certification with No Limits Scuba came from an earlier experience that my daughter had with the shop. Last August or September, my daughter was working on her Advanced Open Water certification. She was nervous about diving in Lake Pleasant because her only diving has been in the Caribbean so she's accustomed to 75+ ft visibility and 82 degree water temps. Inland diving offers none of that. Sensing her anxiety, No Limits instructor, Andi, made sure to explain everything to my daughter before even getting in the water. Unfortunately, Andi caught a bug later that day so she was unable to work with my daughter on Sunday - they were both pretty bummed out. The silver lining to Andi not feeling well was that we got to meet Derek and Derek is every bit as awesome as the rest of the crew. To get to No Limits Scuba from my home, I drive past at least a half-dozen dive shops. With the quality of instruction and the smiling faces at No Limits Scuba, I'll gladly keep making the drive. What a great time we had with the NLS team in Fij!! Everything was "as stated" and better. From registering for the trip, communication was consistent. NLS kept everyone informed of any changes and information needed for the trip. For example, it going on the village visit you'll need a skirt not pants for women, Fiji Air only allows a 15lb carry on bag, and other very useful intel. Social gatherings before the trip were done to get everyone aquatinted before the trip. Was nice knowing everyones name and something about them before getting the the resort. Put a huge jumpstart to the week!! The Volivoli Beach resort is a fantastic resort. Well beyond 5 Star IMO! Service was top notch as well. Everyone was greeted by name, everyday. Facilities were clean and well maintained. Views were awesome!! RA Divers delivered beyond expectation. The the dive sites were clear and visibility is excellent. DM's pointing out sharks, nudibranchs, turtles and other life from the area. Even a short dolphin encounter with the boat. Oh, another big one, their Jelly Fish don't sting!! Overall, NLS put together an awesome week of diving and looking forward to future dives with new friends. read more

I can't say enough good things about No Limits Scuba. My husband and I went to get PADI certified earlier this year. I was a bit of a slow learner and needed some extra help so I didn't slow the group down, although there was no pressure from NLS for me to try and rush through with the group. I decided on my own to do private one on one lessons so I could learn at my own pace and work through my anxiety on the different skills. They were super accommodating and it was affordable. They genuinely cared about making sure that I fell in love with the sport (which I have!) and that I learned at my own pace while being safe. So glad we picked this Dive shop for our certification. I had been certified before so had some idea what to expect...No Limits Scuba definitely exceeded those expectations. Everything was super organized and went super smoothly. Jeff helped us up to the point of the classroom and had to deal with us several times on the phone and had to call PADI on our behalf more than once...was super patient with us. Leslie was the perfect person to lead the class in their classroom...Andie, Derek and Ray were so cool to dive with in the pool...we are doing our open water part in Mexico, but we would definitely want to do some dive trips in the future with these folks and they are as cool as they come! Just got my Open Water scuba certification from No Limit Scuba. I would really recommend this place if you're looking for a place to get certified. They take the time to know you and it's first name basis from the day you walk in. Prior to my pool and lake days, Jeff helped me pick out my personal mask, fins, boots and snorkel. He even recommended a mask strap so that it wouldn't pull on my hair, which worked!! My classroom for the first couple hours was taught by Chris! Kelly was very helpful when it came to picking out the right wetsuit for me!! At the pool, Thea (my instructor) and Steve (dive master) were very patient with demonstrating the skills and then making sure we were able to do it as well. At the lake, my instructor was Scuter and she was assisted by Jeff and Derrick. Overall, I was really happy with my experience here and would be coming back soon to sign up for my advanced certification course! read more

I was pleased to find this scuba shop so close. I looked into Yelp reviews and online searches of other shops and then called around asking for prices. No Limits Scuba was the cheapest option and gave rockin' awesome discounts for me and my friend, who was going to do open water certification with me, and my husband, who was going to do a refresher course (group/couple discounts are the way to go!). My husband is a small business owner and from a family of small business owners so we are well versed on the art of customer service. I have been totally shocked, especially when I became a home owner and came into contact with more small businesses because of it, of the number of businesses that operate on horrible business practices, among which is customer service. I have found very few businesses that I would recommend to my friends, among which is No Limits Scuba. They are great on the phone, being extremely friendly and helpful and quick to answer. They return phone calls like no one else. They are awesome in person. My instructor could not have been more patient, helpful, or knowledgeable. And from my observation of the instruction of a child by another instructor, a place I would definitely take my whole family to certify (once my kids are old enough). The flexibility can not be compared. With very few exceptions, they let you pick the times that are best for you. Their pool is mainly used for certifications, not taken up by too many swimming lessons, like one shop I looked into with a more limited class schedule availability. I had to do nights and weekends and not Sundays and they worked around me without blinking an eye. Scuba is one of those hobbies that things (like colds and injuries) come up suddenly and can lead to cancellations. It's always painful to cancel on somebody you love to work with when that's their employment but they brush off your schedule changes with benevolence. Do you have any places at which you look forward to spending money? I would have said no until I experienced No Limits Scuba. Buying something feels like giving back. Seriously, with their prices, I don't know how anyone there makes anything! When I asked my instructor, he informed me that he loves what he does. You won't regret your choice to go to this scuba shop. I even looked up the prices of some of their gear online and their shop is extremely comparable! Except, at a shop you get to try it on! And if you don't like it after trying it out, they'll find something else you like better instead! Seriously, how can you lose? If I wasn't a harried mom of four little kids, I should get a job there! I can't stop gushing about this place. As a perfectionist, it's so refreshing to see people who take pride in their work. I have driven past their location a few times. I finally decided to go in and see what they have to offer. I AM GLAD I DID! My wife is thinking about getting her Open Water certification. I was also looking at a BCD they had on consignment. I was ready to purchase and they recommended that I try it first. I did not expect that kind of service. I scheduled a time and they were happy when I arrived and brought out some tanks and weights. This is what was not expected. They offered to take my wife and daughter to the pool and have them "TRY" SCUBA at the pool while I tried the BCD AT NO COST! The BCD worked GREAT and my wife and daughter enjoyed the experience. While we did not sign up immediately, they were more interested in ensuring that we were happy with the experience and willing to work with us when were ready. Today, I wanted to try a 3mm consignment suit. NO PROBLEM. I rented a tank and went to my in-laws pool. THIS IS A PLACE I AM GLAD I FOUND. When my wife is ready, THIS WILL BE THE PLACE! No idea where to begin, but these guys are more than just an awesome group of people. Diving is my dream sport and I refuse to let just anyone cerify me or take me on open sea excursions. I did my advanced open water with John Garza as my instructor and her did a fantastic job, very patient, and enjoys what he does. This made being his student even more enjoyable. Recently went to San Carlos with Mike and Gary and they were an entertaining pair. Made my first time in Mexico unforgettable. It also helped that they knew all the dive spots. They were knowledgeable about the local marine life and made the trip very engaging. On the way back we got stuck at the border for three hours, so Gary helped kill the time with putting on Gabriel Iglesias on his ipad. I always say when you go diving, your life expectancy is only as long as your tank has air. Go with people who enjoy what they do. It's how know they will have your back. I did not receive my certifications from No Limits. I did go to San Carlos with No Limits Scuba. It was an awesome trip. The chartered boat and crew were top notch. The No Limits staff saw to everyone's needs around the clock. The fresh made meals breakfast, dinner and snacks were tasty, and in abundance (You will not/can not Starve on this trip). The accommodations were stellar. You cannot beat this, unless of course you go somewhere else with No Limits Scuba. Itinerary for our trip was. Saturday Morning Drive to San Carlos with 2 tank local boat dive in the late afternoon_Back to the house for an amazing Home cooked meal from Mark + snacks on the counter in both houses + A giant pitcher of Margaritas and glasses on the counter in both houses. Sunday morning early wake up Fresh pot of coffee on the counter in both houses. Fresh made breakfast while watching the sunrise~ Head to the Marina. Get on the boat and head out an hour 10min towards the island. First tank dive, get out and enjoy snacks presented on deck (Chips/Salsa, Cookies/Crackers, Fresh fruit Pineapple, Cantaloupe, water melon)...2nd tank dive, get out and the boat crew made lunch on the boat (we had fresh roasted and made Salsa, Cheese Quesadilla, Beans and Carne Asada...Too much to finish). Go dive your 3rd tank, get out put your stuff away and enjoy the ride back to the Marina. When you get back to the houses...you guessed it Fresh cooked dinner. Wake up early Monday and repeat the previous day (Breakfast, 3 tank dives, snacks, lunch, dinner in town)...wake up tuesday and Coffee on, Fresh cooked breakfast (egg fritata, chirizo ect) drive back home. You would need a shoe horn to fit in any more stuff. These guys are pros...Read my review and look at how much you get on this trip and then call No Limits and ask how much money it will cost you...MIND BLOWN! Trust me you cannot go wrong with these guys. THANK YOU NO LIMITS SCUBA!! Gary, Mark, Steve and Savannah... *This review makes it sound as if all we did was eat and drink...It was not. It was 8 tanks in 3 days. The island appears to be a professionally built aquarium except they threw in a Giant Pile of sea lions. Their advertising on Groupon is very misleading. Says that there is a 53% discount for certifications for 2. By the time that they add in $220 for training materials (may be other additional charges but that is as far as I got), you will effectively have a 3-4% discount. They also limit when you can do the classes by having "Groupon" classes once a month. Makes you feel like a second class citizen for using the discount. read more

Where do I begin my review of this great group? Let's start with the happy ending. Chris from No Limits Scuba FOUND MY ENGAGEMENT RING at the bottom of a man-made lake!! My ring flew off my finger the night before while throwing bread to ducks, and I spent the next 24 hours frantically calling scuba shops, metal detector groups, and ring finders for assistance. It was near Thanksgiving, and I had yet to hear back from anybody. Then I called No Limits Scuba. Sheldon answered and was friendly and prompt in taking my information and saying he would ask around and have someone call me back. Within the hour, I get a call from Chris, who was also friendly and felt that he had a good chance of finding the ring. This was not the first time they've been asked to find rings. :) Not more than two hours later, I'm meeting with Chris and again so impressed by his friendly demeanor and kindness. He suits up and gets into the man-made lake (attracting quite the crowd that he's scuba diving in Gainey Ranch, LOL). Chris was very thorough and searched the bottom of a small area for nearly an hour. After much nail biting on my end, he came up WITH THE RING!!!!! I couldn't believe it. I knew I was taking a chance and it would cost me whether he found the ring or not. Having read about their community-centered mission and fellow Yelp reviews, I felt comfortable supporting this great company even if he didn't find the ring. But to have found it and with kindness and good cheer...invaluable. HIGHLY recommend this great group and would definitely turn to them if I ever learn to scuba dive! He let me do what needed to be done within the limits of what was safe and made me feel good once I accomplished it.
