For those familiar with Kevin Binkley's former projects, there are hints of what we used to experience at his restaurants but this takes it over the top. The evening was full of surprises, culinary theater and the gorgeous view makes it unforgettable. We used to eat at Christopher's at the Biltmore and it was wonderful to see this playful and stylish iteration. The food was phenomenal, interesting, well-excuted and so very enjoyable. There were a few service hiccups. We were served the same course twice (which was promptly removed when we notified our server). There was a significant gap between two of the courses (maybe 20 minutes or so) and it felt odd. The kitchen knew that I am pescetarian and they beautifully accommodated me except when a plate of lamb appeared in front of me (it was quickly rectified). This is definitely a special occasion meal and if you're looking for something unique and delicious, this is it.

Julie arranged every detail of the evening -- from food selections, to the charming personalized menus they provided for our party, to thoughtfully overseeing the allergies of two of our guests. Never have I experienced a restaurant staff so hyper-aware of allergies and so genuinely willing to accommodate. My nephew, who has both gluten and dairy allergies, felt like he had finally found a restaurant he could truly enjoy. He said the gluten-free meatballs were the best he's ever had -- he absolutely inhaled them! The service was impeccable. Jay and Marta took exceptional care of us and were attentive without ever being overbearing. Jay was charming, knowledgeable, and an absolute delight. Several people in our group commented on how wonderful he was. What I love most about this restaurant is the overall feeling you get the moment you walk through the door -- warm, inviting, polished, and genuinely welcoming. It was so tender, tasty and plentiful. She took the leftovers home and gave our dog a few bites. The dog loved this lamb so much that she refused to eat for two days until we replaced her daily fresh cooked beef with lamb! Haha! I ordered the Rabbit with root vegetables having never eaten rabbit before. I figured this would be the right place to try it and I was correct! It was extremely delicious and delicately prepared Cost was very reasonable especially for this level of cuisine. There's no alcohol served, but if you bring your own wine with you, they will happily provide corkage service.

I chose to sit at the bar, which turned out to be the best decision. I tried the oysters, the escargot, and the burnt Madeleine dessert--each one was absolutely delicious. But the highlight of my experience was the bartender. He was young, charismatic, and made such great conversation. As a visitor, he made me feel genuinely welcome, which really elevated the entire experience. I believe his name was John C. (though for some reason I thought it was Liam!). Either way, he was fantastic. The gimlet he made incredible and expresso martini even better. I would highly recommend this restaurant--definitely sit at the bar if you can!
