Our ROMEO group of six were here for lunch today. First time at the new location. Got there at 11:25 and had plenty of seats. We had orders for (2) BLTs, 1 Chicken Salad sandwich, 1 greek salad w/chicken, 1 Philly Cheese-steak wrap, 1 beef sandwich and a bowl of vegetable soup. The BLT's were great...lots of chopped lettuce, good bacon and on a nicely toasted white bread. The Greek salad was huge...I mean huge! He ate half of it and had to really stuff the uneaten half into the styrofoan take home box. Chicken salad was very good and the beef sandwich (lots of beef). The Philly cheese-steak wrap was said to be a bit bland. Good service, quick, lots of space and GOOD parking (finally)! Our rating was a 8.83 on our ROMEO scale of 1-10. read more

My wife and I went here for lunch. No Name Deli has moved to 1301 Laurel Street and they now have ample parking! We got here at 11AM (They open at 10AM) and it wasn't crowded. There were about six customers in line ordering their food and it went fast. Their selections are great with a lot of variety of sandwiches (hot and cold), soups, salads, burgers, you hame it. I opted for a cup of Beefy Noodle soup and a BLT while my wife ordered the Patty Melt with onions. The soup was terrific....small cup for $4.99 with bowtie posta, sausage, mushrooms and a great broth. My BLT was also great with chopped lettuce, lots of bacon and tomato on rye seeded bread. My wife also liked her Patty Melt...the meat was done perfectly. Great lunch! We'll be back. Total lunch with top was about $23. read more

No Name Deli is one of my favorite lunch spots in Columbia. I love the throwback feel when I step in there. I still remember the days when they only accepted cash, but now that they accept cards, tap pay, and you can even order online, as busy as it always is, I never have a problem with parking. Customer service is good as well. It is kind of nostalgic. They accept call-in orders as well.   I love their prime rib sandwich and french fries. It is a hefty sandwich with great flavor and comes on french bread with lettuce, tomato, and mayonnaise. The fries are served fresh and hot. They are good and not overly salted. I tried something new most recently, the cajun chicken filet sandwich. I was kind of nervous, as I am particular when it comes to chicken sandwiches. That sandwich was so good. It comes with bacon and Monterrey cheese. I was pleasantly surprised by how delicious it was. The fries were seasoned and referenced by cajun. They were good, just like their regular fries. Pretty much they have something for everyone, and you cannot go wrong. read more

My sister took me to No Name Deli, one of her favorite spots in Columbia. I'd heard her talk about it before, and finally got a chance to go. The menu had a lot of choices, which was cool. The place didn't look super fancy, but the food was really good. I got a cheeseburger with fries, and my sister got hot dogs, fries, and chili. Everything was made fresh, which I liked. We had to wait a bit for our food, but it was worth it. I saw them drop the fries, so they were hot and fresh when we got them. The employees seemed like a big family, joking around with each other. You could tell who the regulars were because the staff knew their orders and called them by name. I'd recommend No Name Deli. The food is tasty, and the vibe is friendly. I ordered small Greek salad to go for lunch. When I arrived my order was ready but there was a line for pickup. I waited about 5mins, however the cashier was very friendly and seems like she enjoyed what she does. The restaurant wasn't busy. She cash me out handed me my bag and I left. When arrived back at work I opened my salad ready to eat I didn't see any salad dressing at all. I double checked the bag and Nothing. I was instantly Mad. I only get a hour for lunch and it's a 10 minute drive for me. I thought about calling but what would have that did, I needed the dressing now. So I just picked through my toppings trying to make the best of it. Well after I eating 1/4 of salad I found the dressing buried under the lettuce. I just would make a recommendation that the dressing be placed where it can be seen versus you have to did through the salad to find. After that my salad was delicious. read more

This was hands down the best sandwich I have tried in a very very long time. This was my first experience with No Name Deli, and the menu was a bit overwhelming. I felt like a freshman on a college campus as most of the customers were repeat guest and knew exactly what to order. The Customer service was great. They did their best with not trying to rush me and even encouraged me that I picked the right choice in a sandwich. And after I had the first bite, I see why she said i made the right choice, lol! Inside the building is a warm and fuzzy vibe, like an old diner that you can meet up with your lunch buddies and hang out for a quick 30 min bite. This was a bit of a "memory lane" visit for me and my wife. It turned into a major disappointment for us. One club sandwich with a pasta salad side and a chicken salad plate with fruit and potato salad with two iced teas was $29.00. My club was burned bacon with barely there lettuce and tomato. It was piled with turkey which didn't help. The rest wasn't any better. I did try some of the fruit from my wife's plate which looked good but wasn't ripe enough for it to taste good. This place is in the smack of downtown. First the parking is horrible. We walked in and the menu is slim and written on the wall sloppy. Feel dirty. Small menu and cafeteria style. It was confusing being our first time there. I ordered a ham sandwich because I thought you can't go wrong. Hubby ordered a Ruben. Both meats had nothing but fat and grizzle. Poor quality meats. Both pasta salad were over cooked and not good. I was surprised the place was packed. It was hard to fill up your drink because of the line of people in front of the machine in line to order. If you want a soggy fatty sandwich that has nothing but white fat and an over cooked grandma pasta salad. Do it. But this was probably the worse sandwich I have ever had in my life. It will never compare to a good deli place like the one in Chapin or a mom and pop place in any state. Definitely won't be back. I like to know where they order their deli meats. I'm on the hunt for the best sandwich in Columbia, and No Name did NOT disappoint. I got an egg salad sandwich, toasted, on sourdough bread with vingarette pasta salad. The picture I posted doesn't do justice for how big this meal was. I ate half the sandwich, half the pasta salad, and the pickle and had to put the rest away. I'm not a girl that leaves much left on a plate...but boy did this one fill me up! And coming in at only $7.80, this was a bargain! A delicious, wonderful, homemade bargain! Can't beat No Name when it comes to a good old fashioned sandwich. There's nothing fancy about this sammie, there's no frills...but that's really why I loved it. Yesterday was a great day for a Club Sandwich from the No Name Deli!!! They have the best Club Sandwich in Columbia by my vote. The bacon was crispy and the turkey was soooo tender. Their ice tea is also excellent compared to others. They even have peach ice tea and another flavor but I stick to the regular sweet tea and add a little water as my taste for surgar has diminished over the years which is excellent! I was concerned yesterday when I found the owner sold the business the last day of December. I immediately started looking for changes and spoke to the new owner. His mask concealed his identity and once removed I immediately recognized him. He has been working there almost 19 years and knows everything up and down!!! I did notice some improvement in different areas and a major one for a lot of people. They now take credit cards which is major as it was cash only forever. This place has such a large variety of items! I highly recommend the taco salad. It's huge and delicious! The food is good and they're pretty fast with their service, considering everything is made as you order. The only downfalls are you have to pay with cash or check and parking is a nightmare. I don't use checks and hardly ever have cash. I always try to carpool if I'm going with a group. There are a surprisingly large amount of tables, but they fill up fast so seating can be difficult. They're always busy and only open during the week. It'd be nice to be able to go there on a weekend day as I'm time limited during the week. I've come here to eat lunch, for the last ten years. Another one of Columbia's hidden treasures! The tuna plate, has tons of fruit that's in season. The tuna sits on a bed of lettuce & tomato's. The pasta is either or mayo or vinegar blend. As you can see it's a lot of food. Their food is always a welcomed treat for lunch. But the parking is kinda limited during lunch. Another favorite was the vegetable soup which was hearty and filling. It seems the new owner has made changes, and the soup is no longer homemade. My dad took me here today for my first visit. Don't know why he waited so long! While the decor is outdated and unpretentious, the food is excellent. They have very personable and patient employees who crafted my sandwich to order. The potato salad and slaw were made from scratch delicious. I've been here at least three times for lunch and never had a bad meal in fact it was a great lunch. Some nostalgia old school vibes here, you walk in and see the murals on the wall of the city. It's almost as the entrance is somewhat like a cafeteria you can grab a tray to choose from the endless sandwich options, soups, subs, hotdogs, and a whole lotta other things to choose from like potato salad or many deserts. Recently I had Mexican sausage and bean soup to go with the liverwurst and prolovne sandwich on pumpernickel with a little mayo, such greatness nothing too fancy just a nice sandwich.
