Both times she came home sick and required a vet visit. The first time she had kennel cough. This time we boarded her for a week and she came home down 3 pounds 26 lbs to 23 lbs) and with terrible diarrhea that lasted for days and required another vet visit and medication to address. Zero communication about her not eating or the weight loss during the stay or at pickup. Not sure if it was a case of their lack of attention to what was going on or they just didn't care. We have boarded our dogs there many times over the years but the care and attention now seems to be lacking. I can no longer recommend them.

The trainer who came to my house with a bag full of noisy metal balls and I was instructed to throw it or shake it to make noise when the dog failed a command. This had the complete opposite effect on our dog, and she cowered and became even less able to follow direction. It may be good for some dogs/breeds, but we had much more success using positive methods than asserting dominance.

She invited my wife and I to drop by and meet some of the pups who might be our future family dog. Like a good, responsible breeder, she screened and interviewed us to make sure we would be good dog owners. And low and behold, she approved us and we got Ellie (a black lab) in Feb 2012 when she was old enough to leave her mother. At 4 years old, Ellie is the best dog I've ever had and seeing all the photos of pups from Jen temps me to get another. And if I do, I'm definitely going back to Ark Angels.

Know up front ALL COSTS. Read reviews here and as many other places as you can before leaving a deposit, it seems some people get lucky, others do not. I suggest searching as much as you can so you know what you are dealing with. Dogs may be top notch as others have posted but our experience was not a positive one in any way shape or form. We found the owner to be very unprofessional and unhinged. Lots of profanity and talking down about others. She even tried contacting my son with special needs via social media - not cool at all.
