Brian told us he currently did not have the money, would be traveling in Europe for several weeks, but would "guarantee to pay at latest by June 5th." We will update this review accordingly. ORIGINAL REVIEW (April 2026): Using Brian's Painting was a very disappointing and costly experience that left us with an unfinished home and significant financial loss. We hired Brian for a $10,000 exterior painting project. After collecting $6,000, he completed only about 10% of the work, then abandoned the project and stopped communicating. Brian requested a 40% deposit ($4,000) and later an additional 20% ($2,000) after a short prep stage that took about eight hours. After receiving the $6,000, he returned only twice for brief visits over several weeks, then dropped the job, leaving the house unfinished. (See attached photos.) We attempted to resolve the matter in good faith. We agreed he could keep the $2,000 even though several licensed painters we consulted estimated that only about 10% ($1,000) of the work had been completed by Brian. He eventually agreed to refund the $4,000 deposit, but after multiple deadline extensions has only returned $1,300 and has now stopped communicating altogether. We are now pursuing recovery through court and filing a complaint with the Regulated Industries Complaints Office (RICO), which takes enforcement action against unlicensed contractors operating illegally in Hawaii. We also had prior issues with a smaller job he completed in 2023, including use of lower-grade paint than what we paid for and paint splatter left on appliances. Despite this, we gave him another opportunity when he repeatedly requested the exterior project. We greatly regret that decision now. Bottom line: We strongly recommend homeowners to look elsewhere.

This company took care of any concerns that I had with no questions asked. Their main concern was us being happy with the outcome. Even things that was from a previous paint job that was out of their control, they worked it out! I'm embarrassed to say that I even sent messages really late at night with some questions I had and the response was immediate! We even changed our minds on the color we originally chose half way through the job ( oopsie) and B&B made it happen. We had a huge job with a ton of cosmetic fixes and upgrades, I'm so happy with the outcome. Solid work, thanks B&B! Check out our photos, it speaks volumes!!!

I first contacted the company for an estimate. The owner, Bryson, responded quickly and within a few days, he came in person to give a free estimate. He was thoughtful to suggest ways to keep the cost down. His experience was apparent when he detected seemingly imperceptible differences in the undertones of white paint in different rooms. When I had follow up questions or any question, he was a responsive, timely, and good communicator. I had him repaint 2 bedrooms because the walls had been heavily marked with black streaks. I also had him paint a wall behind a toilet, a strip of wall in a stairwell, and a bright blue powder room which I had him change to white. I also needed him to patch holes caused by a metal rack screwed into a bathroom wall and a chain lock screwed inside a bedroom. He did the job quickly and thoroughly. Everything Bryson painted was beautifully done and looked brand new. You would never have guessed the bright blue powder room he painted white could ever have been anything but white. I will be using this company for all my future painting needs.

Their price was very competitive with the other bids, and Henry, the estimator, impressed me with his knowledge and willingness to do repairs prior to painting. Several small repairs were needed, and they were happy to do it all! Ryan helped me choose paint colors and even put them on my walls so I could see them "live" and make good choices. He continued to manage the job and truly went out of his way to satisfy my requests, even having special moldings made to match the existing ones in my older home! Gavin headed the paint crew. He was in my house every day for 6 days until the job was done. He was amazing! I cannot say enough about Gavin as a person, and his workmanship. He was professional, easy to talk to, kept me up to date, answered questions as they arose, and did a truly excellent job painting. He did everything as he would want it done himself. He told me that, and then he showed me by doing such careful and exacting work! Mike and Blaze assisted Gavin and proved themselves helpful and skilled as well! Pristine kept their word and came back after the job was done to touch up after the flooring people. Sorry this is such a long review, but I can't say enough about Pristine, especially Henry, Ryan and Gavin!

My apartment had recently suffered multiple unidentified leaks this past year that has been a…read morenightmare to navigate. I first messaged Mike and other candidates in 2025 when I was gathering quotes for an insurance claim that ultimately got denied. It was very clear that Mike and the team have great workmanship from the photos - this is coming from someone who's seen great drywall work and extremely poor work that I could do better myself. I could tell right off the bat that these were the guys I wanted to work with. The proof was in the "mudding" as I changed scope to account for materials, budget, level 4-5 finish, and paint finish quality. Having to pay out of pocket for an expense I anticipated someone else to cover was a bit of a concern for my wallet. Mike was patient with me and we worked out a price we could agree on by removing items from the scope that might still been in good condition and limiting the amount of work that needed to be done on a bump-out wall next to my shower. John texted me soon after we agreed to move forward and scheduled the work for the following week. He also suggested a change in material (DensShield) from what I had originally requested (blueboard) and I am so grateful to have skilled/experienced teammates to work with that really know what they're doing. Day 1 was demolition, hanging, and mudding. John was finished and out before lunch and I could already tell that the quality of work was spectacular. You couldn't even tell the ceiling was repaired because it was blended in perfectly with the surrounding area. The bump-out wall was looking way better than it was even prior to the water damage. We left the fan on throughout the day and overnight to let the hot mud dry out. Day 2 was sanding, priming, and painting. Fortunately, I purchased and stored paint that was specific to my bathroom from a previous repair and had it at the ready this time around as well. Honestly, when I first discovered the leak, I originally planned to fix it myself so I also had a brand new container of primer. I'm pretty satisfied with the work, especially with the DensShield suggestion and installation in both affected areas to account for future leaks. I didn't know such product existed and the workmanship mudding a material such as DensShield and it essentially coming out nearly flawless is pretty impressive. Overall, I would give Mike's team a solid 9/10. Prompt responses, flexibility in materials/scope, and great quality of work. The quote, as some have mentioned is on the higher side compared to other candidates I'd spoken with, but I learned the last time that you get what you pay for. Could I have gotten it cheaper? 100%. Would it have come out as good? Not sure. The last guy I hired at maybe half the price got the job done, but clearly not done well and that's what got me in this predicament, SO... don't cheap out if you can help it - especially for a bathroom or high-moisture/high-risk area. I'm certain I'll be working with Mike and the team in the future and there are no regrets here as compared to my last drywall adventure. Thank you Mike & John for your patience and hard work.

Roger was a great asset, he had recommended a nice off white color and discussed their process, to include all holes filled, walls prepped and primer, the works. We came by later in the afternoon and they (Roger and Eddie) were well underway, excellent. We were called about 3pm on Sunday all completed! Perfect color, perfect job top to bottom, they moved the washer and dryer out and put everything back the way it was, actually they even checked out the hoses and such.
