Speaking of communication, he was reachable by phone/text at all hours of the day, not just during "business" hours. Absolutely recommend him and his company to others needing roofing and related repairs.

So despite a couple hiccups, I appreciate that they're working hard so my home stays dry and protected and I'm pleased with their service.

Apparently there were many cracked tiles, probably when panels were put in, tenting and/or neighbor's avocados. He checked for this type of tiles and the color. Recommended extra tiles because not many in my color which I did want. Rob and his helper went straight to work for many hours (in the hot sun and no breeze) due to the tile being slippery, not to cause further breakage and must do one at a time). They then carefully brought in the extra tiles for storage. Very happy with the work of Rob and advice on the care of the roof.

I was contacted by Isaac who made an appointment to inspect my roof within a week. He arrived on time and inspected my roof. He provided me with a detailed quote a week later as promised. Very professional. He did advise me that they were not necessarily the cheapest but that they do good work and stand behind what they did. I subsequently got contacted and received quotes from several other roofing companies. Some of the other companies i contacted did not even bother to respond. Eventually I did select a different company than Surface Shield based upon price and since my job was only repair work. However i was very impressed with Surface Shield and Isaac and his sense of urgency and professionalism. Almost every single one quoted us twenty five hundred dollars or more just to inspect, and all of them said they would need to remove the solar panels just to assess the problem. That basically meant committing to a full job before anyone even knew what was wrong. Kapili was completely different from the start. Roxy and Cody came out and were professional, polite, and right on time. They inspected everything thoroughly, explained that they would pass their findings along to the customer relations team, and headed out. Steven, their customer relations rep, called me shortly after and explained that our roof is basically brand new and pointed out the spot that was leaking, plus one more area near a different flashing point that needed attention. They repaired both spots on the spot, at no charge, and didn't even mention it until Steven called to fill me in. They told me if it leaks again, they will come back out, reassess, and go from there. It turns out that she did the best job in properly scoping the required work, and the quote reflected that. After we got the source of the leak repaired (which took months to get someone to just so that), we circled back with Jay and scheduled. She and her crew were efficient, communicative, did clean and expert work, and finished the job in the time promised at a very fair price that was well within scope. When you go thru an event that creates sudden home damage, it's easy to get desperate and choose a professional service in haste. While we were ultimately able to get a few quotes, there was a lot of "sales talk" and "more than the necessary scope" along the way. I had a rather difficult job that I did not want to do myself. It involved a very small attic space…read moreabove the garage that was not insulated when the house was built. Because we had electrical conduit installed in the attic space for our photovoltaic panels and battery back up, we wanted to have it as cool as possible. I called Harry Oneha, owner of HDrywall to ask if he would be able to do the installation. He came out the day I called and gave me a very reasonable quote. He then installed the insulation within a couple of weeks. The installers were meticulous, covering the floors and walls with plastic. They used planks to ensure no damage to the ceilings of the garage. The height of the attic space went from less than 3 feet at the peak of the attic to zero where the rafters came down the ceiling joists. Despite that, they were able to get insulation into the rafters in all areas. Better yet, even though the attic was a very hot and confined space, the installers did not complain at all... they were actually very pleasant and happy. When they finished in the attic, they cleaned the garage completely and left "not a trace of debris". Generally, when I have a job done, I need to hire another company to fix and clean up after them... but not with Harry's crew! They were amazing. I am a rather OCD person, and if workers can get a good rating from me, that means a WHOLE lot! KUDOS and sincere thanks to HDrywall. I'd have them back to do work for me in a heartbeat!

H Drywall replaced rotted wood and restructured the supports. They also installed new wood floor on the deck, rebuilt the steps and repainted the whole deck and stairs with top quality primer and topcoat. Their work was top-notch! The carpentry was careful and done well, involving us in every decision. Talking to the carpenter was easy, and he was very knowledgeable and skilled. So also with the painter. Good work at a good price!…read more After nearly 15 years, had to have my hour re-painted (2nd time) and priced around a few places here in Mililani. It ended up Tachibana Painting came in at the best price, and when thinking back, we did use them in 2010 ish, when we repainted the house exterior for the first time. Also when we repainted our downstairs interior when we remodeled. James came within 2 days from when I sent a message on their website to do a quote. Had to have some window trims removed due to the carpenter bees burrowing into them, have some decorative roof beams replaced (dry rot), and a few areas patched. No problem - they have people that can do it all, in addition to the painting. Then within a day and a half of the visit, I got a written quote via email, along with the warranty if we choose to do the work with them. Had the weather cooperated, it probably would've taken about a week; from the initial power washing, to re-grouting the seams, the carpentry work, then priming and painting 2 coats. But Mililani being Mililani, it rained and the work dragged on a bit, but something the workers can't control. So overall, a good job and would definitely use them again!

They scheduled us months earlier (because when you are good, people will wait for you), and they started on the exact day they promised. They showed up every morning at 7 and brought everything they needed, including their own scaffolding. It is not easy work, but they are machines. On the last day it was incredibly windy / gusty, but they managed to finish the project even though much of it was from scaffolding and on the windy side of the house. They removed hose reels, masked light fixtures and windows, shielded landscaping, painted our gutters and downspouts, and cleaned up at the end of the day. You will not find easier-going, nicer guys. That's probably why you will also not find anybody else that does what they do for as long as they've done it with ALL 5 Star reviews. Bryson knows what he's doing and has a solution for everything that was bad with our worn down exterior. We let the exterior paint deteriorate for too long, and now the house looks brand new. Prep work needed a lot, and Bryson was meticulous when prepping every surface including the gutters, overhangs, window sills, and worn areas requiring extensive work. Pressure wash, caulk, fill, and sand. Then some repeated to make things look new again. He's genuine and does what he says he's going to do. No skimping. He uses quality Sherwin Williams paint that is expected to last. Paint is sprayed, rolled, and brushed and looks flawless. Man....such a difference! And of course, his estimate came in at around the mid-range compared to others. Completely worth the money. Hire B&B! After receiving three estimates we decided to hire Komori because their approach was professional and they gave us a fair price for a large job. I was also told that the HEPA equipment they used to capture dust when grinding the cement exceeded other companies and would leave very little dust in the air. This turned out to be very true and saved me a lot of time not having to clean surrounding windows, screens, furniture, etc. Komori's crew prepped our floor, repaired all the cracks and holes, then proceeded to apply numerous layers of primer, grout and sealer coats, grinding and cleaning after each coat. Their crew was very easy to work with, always smiling and always willing to accommodate our requests. They were meticulous in their attention to every detail during the many steps involved. This is not something easily found in today's economy where many contractors cut corners and complete their work as quickly as possible to make the most profit. Eric, you were great! It's…read morebeen over two years now, and it still looks good, so here's the jist: This is a family operation and they are remarkably organized and efficient. The owners, Jason and Julia, came out and met with met to give me a quote. They got back to me a lot more quickly than some of the others, and it was a remarkably good price. I had quite a few quotes than theirs was about half the average of the rest -- $5K for the exterior of a 4BR house. I felt I couldn't go wrong at that price, even if the quality wasn't quite up to par, so I went with them. And what guarantee did I have that the higher priced guys would be better? Komori was as highly recommended as any of them. Their crew came out within a couple weeks and worked quickly. It was a large crew, with different people coming by to do different things. They didn't do as much scraping as I would have expected, but they did wash and pretreat everything. The finished product looked great, except for one spot. It was a cinder block wall portion of the car port that was flaking pretty bad before it was painted and wasn't scraped down. I called them and their son came out within a day and went over the whole area again. These guys were a pleasure to work with and delivered a remarkable product for the money. No complaints. Highly recommended.
