My reccomendation would be to get their daily specials as it is super good value. Now is it very good tasting and good quality ingredients, Nope. Healthy? Nope. But neither is the types of foods you see at a school cafeteria. If you like Chinese food that is specifically marketed for people who only have generic fast Chinese food (think Panda Express, Manchu Wok style), then try their Wednesday Special - Chicken Balls. A ridiculous portion of deep fried chicken balls, chow mein and rice, all splattered with dark red glistening sweet n sour sauce. Serious MSG attack and grease, but if that's your jam, then this will hit the spot. Straight up, its not your best quality joint, but all the items there are very cheap and in large quanities.

This place sticks to its roots. It's as unpretentious and unassuming as it ever was, the people are still heartwarming (despite what looks like a possibly change in ownership or transferring of management/staff), and I always feel comfortable here. I stick to their burgers and fries on the off chance I want a burger and am never dissatisfied. I am half Chinese so have no need for the Chinese special although it sure looks popular with a lot of Caucasians coming in. Lots of oldtimers and long time customers come in here. You know them because they order with as little pretentiousness as the staff! All are welcome here and it just feels like home. Great place, super casual. Hope they never change the feel of the restaurant and the amazing service. Burger and fries is still approx $7. Way more value than the nonsense grills and overpriced delis scattered around.

My mistake as I just looked at the picture and didn't read the description. Quite misleading in that case. It was not spicy at all at medium spice. It was very salty. I was quite disappointed with the dish. Maybe other dishes like the curry and pad see siew would be better? That seemed to be what others were ordering. They do not offer beef as a protein option here. Only chicken, pork, tofu and shrimp. At that price point, I'll rather go to my Thai restaurant where I know the basil chicken dish (pad kra pow) will taste good.

The menu sounded promising (although overpriced for a food truck) with some nice classic sandwiches on offer. I ordered the "mumia" ($12) - which I have to assume is a play on Mumia Abu-Jamal who is from Philadelphia, home of the cheesesteak? Anyhoo... The description was very cheesesteak like with sirloin beef, pepperjack cheese, sauteed onions and peppers. The addition of garlic aioli moved away from the classic as did the usage of pepperjack instead of provolone. When I unwrapped the sandwich, I was torpedoed with an excessive amount of a watery oily substance dripping all over the place. It got all over everything - not in a good way. Biting into the sandwich was the next torpedoing. The bread was stale. I don't mean day old. I mean stale. Next torpedo: the beef was chewy, gristly, and very oily. The peppers were the best part - but they too were overly oily. Basically each bite gave you a mouthful of stale bread, a piece of oily gristle flavoured by an oily pepper and a drippy oily substance (perhaps a broken aioli?). I couldn't eat the bread. Tried picking off the meat and veggies to eat, but gave up as they were too awful on their own. There was a small line when I approached the truck initially but their service was quick giving customers their sandwich within about 2-4 minutes of order, not entirely sure what the standard is for food trucks but for me that's good. The lady up front taking the orders was very friendly and was happy to help answer our questions. They only offered a few options but what I had to try was the jerk chicken sandwich as I had stopped a girl just minutes before and attempted to waft hers. Again service was fairly quick and I receive my sandwich within a few minutes. I don't think the picture I've posted will do it any justice but this baby was a beauty. The bun tasted quite fresh and almost melted in my mouth, the chicken and enough spice and flavour and the rest was just bomb. It is quite filling I found which is what you're looking for, good bang for buck. Definitely gonna track these down every time I'm downtown. Amazing experience for my taste buds.

You simply line up, receive a ticket stub from a staff member, and redeem it for a food item. It's strictly one per person. The event happened every Wednesday in September and usually sold out quickly, so you had to come early to wait in line. It started at 12 PM, but I waited from 11:15 AM and got my food an hour later. According to social media, it was sponsored by Cadillac Fairview, a commercial real estate company that owns the nearby Pacific Centre mall. The location of the event was at Robson Square, right outside the Vancouver Art Gallery. As for the food at Disco Cheetah, it's absolutely delicious--it's the bomb! I got a bowl of Korean food with battered boneless chicken thigh, multigrain rice, greens, corn, edamame, pickled red cabbage, and scallions. You also have a choice of sauces to go with the dish. I chose garlic ranch sauce and chili sauce. The chicken thigh was crispy, and every bite had a satisfying crunch. It was full of strong, salty flavors. The greens and rice complemented the dish nutritionally, balancing the salty flavors of the sauces and adding softer, saucy textures to contrast the crispy battered chicken. Big 5 out of 5 stars to the Disco Cheetah and Cadillac Fairview event staff based on this visit. I'm so glad I came out to this event and waited patiently for an hour for the food. The weather was nice, but the air was a little chilly, so it wasn't too bad of a wait. The lines were neatly organized by the event staff, which made the wait less stressful, so kudos to them for that. Disco Cheetah has a restaurant on Davie Street in downtown, so I will definitely consider visiting Disco Cheetah there to try their other dishes.

After seeing the daily menu on their facebook page, I knew I was going to have the Bacon Cheeseburger. I was going to annihilate it. With my face. Bruce ordered the BBQ Onion Ring Cheeseburger and we sat down and waited. IT WAS SO TASTY. The "bacon" was smokey, crispy and salty. The "beef" patty was perfect and not at all dry or bland. There was even some kind of vegan mayo on it, as well as some typical burger condiments. AND CHEESE SAUCE. Made of daiya I think? It was saucey, messy, hot, and delicious.
