Paul and his crew completed the work quickly and professionally with high end results. Demolition took less than a day. Another day and the deck and stairs were done. Great fit and finish. We love our deck and our new back stairs with railing. Great communication. Fair pricing (60% less than the highest bid we received). An honest broker. Highly recommend.

Bruce was very responsive when we reached out in June for estimates on our deck replacements. His…read moreestimate was affordable and we felt assured when he came out to see the project as he commented on what was required according to code (apparently our dilapidated decks were not compliant and none of the other contractors we consulted with made mention of this). Bruce confirmed his availability for install beginning in late October at that time and we coordinated via email as that time approached. Bruce and his team do very great, thorough work. They were all very friendly and trustworthy. We are very pleased with our deck replacements and the dry rot pieces they both identified and replaced on our front support columns. Bruce also hung up our new address numbers for us at the conclusion of the project, which was a big help for us! We did not receive an invoice until the very end of the project (after 3 of 4 payments were made), but did receive one nonetheless. Despite this, we don't have any concern about Bruce and his team coming out to repair anything that should arise. Though, we don't expect that to happen based on the quality work they provided. Their focus is on their craft, not the administrative pieces of the business. I highly recommend Shaffer & Sons and will keep Bruce's contact information should we, our friends, or family members require any work completed in the future.

He and his foreman did really a good job adding insulation and patching the wall, resetting the countertop that was unleveled, replacing toe-kicks and put grout caulk. One thing was not done, and that is my fault not to communicate to him, is to reinstall drawer rails. Very recommended for anybody is looking for general contractor.

The walls at bottom are not even. There is a lot of sticky residue on railings, particularly the upper area. The window at the top of the stairs has white primer smeared around edges. We came to an agreement on the job that I needed done and the price, same day. I needed my storage unit in the basement of my condo cleaned out because the HOA is doing plumbing work. On Tuesday, a very nice, soft spoken young man named Luz arrived right on time. I went over with him what stays and what goes. I also let him know that my neighbor Wes has more authority than I do about what is garbage. I told him to feel free to text me a pic if he's not sure. He did a very good job and I went down to the basement to tip him $20 but he was gone. Paying was easy with Zelle. This wasn't a pre-fab or generic solution, it feels custom and well thought out. The installation was clean and professional. Posts are perfectly set, the structure is solid, and the attention to detail really shows. Everything feels sturdy, intentional, and built to last. This pergola completely transformed our outdoor space and turned an unused area into a functional and inviting gathering spot. He listened to all my far-fetched ideas and was patient with me the entire time, but I eventually had to scale back some of those crazy ideas so I could stay within my budget. After many design iterations and so many wishful thinking, I finally decided on what was best for my backyard. Giovanni was very patient with my many changes and ideas and when I finalized the design, his awesome crew went to work. After 4 years of unused backyard space and being probably the last house on my block without a family backyard, I can now say we have a backyard that finally has an identity. The entire process was truly remarkable. Giovanni truly has a keen eye, great understanding and knowledge of materials, working with the materials vendors and providing feedback on changes in the design as well as provide suggestions as well as communicating the work to his fantastic crew that put many hours of physical labor, working under the elements and spending much time and effort to make all of this possible. His crew works hard and they communicate well together. Only the final day of work, I can see that even the crew was truly amazed at the final product that came to fruition with their own hands. I could see a lot of pride from their faces when they finished out the last day as they took pictures of their work. My wife and I are truly happy that we now have a place where we can entertain our family, friends and also enjoy with our dogs and also into our retirement years. Boy, where do I start? First off, we've painted the interior of houses (either ourselves or hired…read moreout to professionals) quite a few houses before this. But this experience was far from professional. There were so many issues, it would be too long of a review to list them all but I'll list some of the terrible highlights. *Poor management/supervision *Terrible process and attention to detail *Prep work was shoddy *Workers left the job site dirty each day and ruined a piece of our brand new carpet *No regard for the fact that we were living and working from the space (the job took 7 days, unnecessarily). *Skill level of workers was mediocre at best *Communication and language deficits *Several times each day we had to do quality control due to dripping paint, missed spots, wrong sheen of paint, using the incorrect color in places---we only had 3 colors. *Misuse of caulk in a large area that needed to be repaired by a professional drywaller. *We paid almost 11k for the work and it wasn't even worth half of that with the quality we got. They gave us a 1.5% discount for "inconveniences"
