I had no idea how much of a difference flowers could make at a wedding, but i'm SO glad i picked Joyce to by my florist. She's an delight to work with, and her centerpieces were EXACTLY what i wanted- classy, feminine, and absolutely gorgeous! Out of all my wedding vendors, Joyce was definitely in the top 2...she's THAT good. I first met Joyce at the Grand Tradition Estate bridal show, where some of her beautiful work was displayed as centerpieces. I took her contact information but was afraid of her prices, as it seems like she would charge much more than other vendors who were also at the show. I called her a few weeks later, and gave her my budget and a rough idea of what i wanted. She said she would definitely work with me, and a few days later sent me a quote with how much everything would cost. I have to admit, i got sticker shock when I first saw the final price- it was at least $1000 more than the number i had given. Nevertheless, i met with her at Grand Traditon estate a few months later (she was setting up for another wedding) and i took her quote with me. We sat down and started negotiating item by item. She switched out some of the more expensive flowers for in season ones, took out some ceremony decor i didn't necessary need, and after 30 mins we managed to bring the final price more or less to what i wanted. I was so relieved that Joyce was so easy to work with, and willing to go down on her prices to accommodate my budget. I walked away very comfortable with my flowers, and confident that Joyce would bring my vision to life. I ended up making a lot of last minute changes anyways, but Joyce was very patient and reassuring. I also had Joyce decorate my wedding cake (I absolutely love fresh flowers everywhere) When i walked into my venue on the day of the wedding, boy was i blown away! the flowers were on tall. 24" vases filled with water and a white flower (orchids?) They brought a very classy and elegant feel to the reception. Our DJ did a coral uplighting in the reception, and they perfectly complimented the flowers for the most amazing reception decor. My guests kept commenting on how gorgeous the flowers were, and the ones who got to take the centerpieces home were delighted! My hubby and i went on a cruise the day after our wedding, and i insisted on bringing the centerpiece on board with me to display in our room. I loved them so much i couldn't bear the thought of leaving them at home. Before my wedding planning started i didn't even know i wanted fresh flowers, or how much of a difference they made. We hired Joyce for our wedding at grand traditions estates for April 27, 2013. She was so sweet and easy to work with. She showed us many pictures of her work and even had some sample pieces when we had our first meeting. We decided to have Joyce do our flowers as wells as our linens for the wedding. She always took our calls right away, and was always sweet and professional. We had trouble paying with paypal and she worked with us on that issue with no problems and made it seem like the issue never happened. The day of the wedding she blew us away with the flower arraignments and table linens.They were absolutely stunning. The bouquets were perfect. The flowers outside were just amazing. She also made us two huge arraignments for the stairs at no charge and decorated the cake with flowers no charge. Her flowers last so long. My wedding was over 2 weeks ago and my bouquet is still sitting on the kitchen table in a vase and barely looks dead. We can not recommend Joyce enough. She was our favorite vendor we hired. Joyce is so talented!! HOW WE FOUND HER We found her after doing a site visit for our venue. They were setting up for a wedding and the colors/flowers/decor were exactly what we envisioned for our own wedding. Lucky for us Joyce was there and we were able to talk to her in person. Wedding planning is always crazy. When it came to flowers, most florists wouldn't work with us considering our budget. They were charging a minimum which was almost double of our budget. We found her as a recommended vendor from our venue, Grand Tradition Estates. Joyce was the only florist willing to help and customize packages that fit our desires and most of all...budget. Also, planning a wedding out of state is tough, but after visiting Joyce to see a demo of her work, we were convinced that we were in good hands. She also gave good tips for saving money on the wedding day. Her quality of work was amazing. She was very flexible and able to accommodate any last minute changes, such as making our bridal bouquet the day before the wedding (we were originally going to DIY). She is so thoughtful as well. We were going to reuse the flowers from the gazebo on the sweetheart table. On the day of the wedding, the weather was hotter than anticipated so reusing flowers in the heat would ruin them, so she surprised us with free flowers for our table. I knew I wanted beautiful, fresh, amazing flowers for my wedding- I just had no idea how to describe what I wanted them to look like. This is where Joyce came in. I told her what our budget was, the color scheme, and the overall vibe that I was going for and she delivered in a HUGE way. The best decision I ever made with the flowers was giving her creative license and let her do her thing, because everything was gorgeous. Even with the 90+ degree heat, her flowers would not die/wilt/fade. In fact, they lasted a whole week before they started looking a little less fresh. Joyce also came through for me at the last minute. I was initially planning on carrying a brooch bouquet down the aisle because after looking at dozens of fresh bouquet pictures, nothing really spoke to me. Then of course, I changed my mind the week before the big day. I call Joyce and she tells me not to worry, she can get it done. On our wedding day, the personal flowers get delivered to the hotel. I'm a bit nervous since I had given her zero direction and she didn't know what my dress looked like, but there was no need for that. IT WAS GORGEOUS. I choose Joyce as the florist based on yelp positive reviews and recommendation from one of the wedding planner at Grand Tradition Estate. However, it is obviously a wrong decision. And I hope my experience will help other brides not to fall again. She seems to be very friendly at our first meet and is willing to do the wedding based on our budget. We do appreciate that. After that, she urged us to pay the deposit of $500 without any interest in discussing what we want at our wedding anymore. She does not return phone calls or emails regarding any inquiries. Even she did reply, it's usually very short and inpatient, and again, urged for the deposit. She even wrote in one email, "this is the last question I will answer." As a wedding vendor, shouldn't she be spending some time with customers and get to know their needs before asking for a deposit? Well, don't expect that from her. It made us feel she cares nothing but her payment (which we paid in time and we kept adding more stuffs so it's not a budget concerned wedding.) Due to the time we had until the wedding, we decided to stick with her because it will take too much time to find another one. I can only say we are in bad luck to find her first. Okay, this is what happened at the wedding. The flowers at the gazebo are fine. They are roughly as what we requested. The centerpiece at the reception is obviously in different flowers and colors than we ordered. They are also much smaller than we expect. The worst part is, the bridal bouquet!! We requested it in white and red, but it came out all in red. Several dark red roses are already withered that there are mold or disgusting white spots on the roses. I should upload a picture of it so you can see how awful it is! And it is not cheap- the bouquet cost us $150!! (you can find a bouquet from other vendor at around $75 in that size!) The quality is totally unacceptable especially in that price, besides that she ignored what we ordered. She also broke one of our decoration without telling my husband or me. Instead, she turned to one of our family member who knows nothing about the contract and quoted what she said "it's fine." She is reluctant to pay the damaged decoration, and she said it was caused by nature wind and cost her staff another hour to glue it back and she is just "doing us a favor!" Come on!!! This is not the attitude a vendor should have. You broke it, you should first tell the owner honestly, instead of trying to cover it up and use any excuse to get away. We didn't ask the payment for the broken one in the end because she wanted our friend who gave us the gift to call her and tell her how much it is. It is very rude... If you think that's the end, well, sorry. She took one of our friend's vase, again, without telling us after the wedding. When we first contacted Grand Tradition Estate, they said as a professional vendor, she won't take something that does not belong to her. Well, that does not apply to her. She did take it and the venue didn't figure it out until we contacted them twice and have them double checked with Joyce. In the end, Joyce called me and sent a check for the vase saying it will be of the most convenience in this way. We can simply give the check to our friend, yes that's what she said. My honest recommendation for future brides, if you want a vendor who will do the job as you want, Joyce is not the option. You need to bear with the risk anything could change or happen and there is no warranty. If something wrong does happen, she will find some excuse rather than admit her faults. Not a candid and responsible vendor, with lots of hassles even you did your work. I will NOT recommend her. read more

Joyce is the absolute best! My daughter got engaged and we didn't know were to turn for flowers. A friend of mine used Joyce for her daughters wedding and highly recommended her. We met with her and my daughter told her what she wanted and Joyce made some very nice suggestions. We knew we wanted to hire her and left a deposit. We came back about a week or two before the wedding to see the mock table arraignment she made. When I saw it I thought "That's so gorgeous, I wish that could be ours at the wedding" It turns out it was the mock one she made for the wedding!! She is a preferred vendor for the place where my husband and I got married at which was at the Grand Tradition Estate in Fallbrook just 2 weeks ago!
