Between the sweeping views of the Hudson River and Hudson Highlands, the warm summer air, and a DJ keeping the atmosphere lively without overwhelming the conversation, it's the kind of place where you plan to stay for one drink and somehow the entire evening disappears. By the end of the night, our group had managed to eat our way through most of the menu. Nothing was trying to reinvent the wheel, but everything was well prepared, satisfying, and exactly what we wanted for a relaxed rooftop gathering. The food isn't the reason to come--it's the complete experience. Naturally, we leaned into the fun. The Moscow Mule served in a take-home copper mug was an easy decision, and once we spotted the "Double Tap" special (beer, shot, commemorative cup, and T-shirt), there was no turning back. We wanted to make sure we'd remember the night long after we crossed back over the river. The staff deserves a special mention. They handled our large group--including kids--with patience, flexibility, and genuine hospitality. Everyone felt welcome, which isn't always easy with a bigger party. As a former Marine Corps infantry officer, it pains me just a little to hand a five-star review to an Army establishment... but credit where it's due. Zulu Time earned it. I can't imagine the Hotel Thayer without this. It's exactly the kind of place I'll be bringing friends and family from the Garrison, Cold Spring, and greater Hudson Valley area whenever they want a laid-back evening with one of the best rooftop views around.

We shared onion petals which I likely wouldn't get again. More breading than anything and I'm guessing just out of a bag and fried. Had two cold beers and the bartender was very attentive to our needs. If you are in the area for lunch, stop in and have some wings and a cold one. They have quite a few choices in their sauces. The Storyteller is a legit farm to table restaurant with amazing service. Jolyn couldn't have been more attentive and she made sure she was always checking in on us. She had great recommendations and was an awesome server. Our food was delicious and super fresh. All of the ingredients were so fresh and there are even students from the CIA across the street working in the kitchen. My seasonal salad was really good - loved the poppy seed dressing ! My salmon entree was cooked to perfection too. My husband had the caesar salad with a burger patty on top and he loved it. The unassuming Apple Crisp dessert was worth the calories. Sorry no photo ... it disappeared real fast! All and all, don't sleep on The Storyteller restaurant. It's located off the lobby area of the Inn at Bellefield.

Overall, it is decent food and that's what you expect. Lanes: lanes are relatively taken care of. Some of them have the right amount of oil, and some don't. Balls: The house balls are relatively taken care of and the shoes aren't terrible. I bring my own stuff, but my family has used all those items. Dinning Area: None. Prices: comparable to most other bowling alleys. Went there with my two kids and wife spent $36.03 games no shoes. Parking: Plenty of space, side and back private lots. Bathrooms: Bathrooms were clean and decent in size. Small locker room attached. Atmosphere: overall a little dark, but fun atmosphere. Wintertime is usually more dead, then the spring and summer, although league nights get crazy. Bar: like I said, in my last review, I don't really drink or smoke, but my friends that hang out here for the night really enjoy the atmosphere inside the bar the drinks are pretty cheap as well. Staff/Attendants: been going here for years, and the staff has always been pretty nice and professional. Never really had a problem with any of them and some of my kids friends have grown up to work there. It's more of a local watering hole and cheap fun spot for the locals than anything else.
