Just wanted to give a huge shout-out to Thomas! I was a little hesitant to visit this store after…read morereading some mixed online reviews, but Thomas totally blew us away. He was amazing! We needed snowboarding gear - the whole shebang - and he spent ages with us, patiently explaining all the differences between boards, boots, gloves, the lot! He even made sure we got a helmet that actually fit (which is harder than it sounds!). It wasn't just about selling us stuff; he really made sure we got exactly what we needed. And he mentioned their snowboard service, to get the snowboard ready to use, which was a lifesaver knowing we're total newbies! Seriously, we were in the store for about four hours, and Thomas was fantastic the entire time. He's super knowledgeable and friendly - he made the whole experience fun, not stressful at all. He deserves a massive pat on the back (and maybe a bonus!). Also the whole store was 50% off which made it a deal to get everything needed for the rest of the season and into next!

Worst experience ever. It should be 0 star. Long story short, they sold my daughter a wrong size of…read moreski boot, and even with a wrong sized liner inside the shell last year. The guy work there is rude and refuse to acknowledge mistake and blame us and my daughter for it. Today we came in to get my daughter a new ski boot since she feels the boot is not comfortable. They fitted my daughter 17.5 today, but the boot we got last year is 18.5. Surprised by this, we actually found out they sold us a boot of 18.5 shell with 17.5 liner last year! When I asked the guy (who seems to be in charge) how it happened and what can we do, he became rude and says that the boot is trash now and it doesn't matter what they sold us last year. He even blame my 6 year old daughter for walking on the toe. Sure the boot has some wear on the toe pad but come on, you blame a 6 year old girl for your own mistake? When we look closely, the liner can move a lot inside the shell. I cannot imagine how my daughter was able to ski 40days last season with ski team. I told him she can get injured due to this. You know what he says? "Ski is dangerous sport and you can get injured in lots of ways". COME ON! All I wanted was some professional opinion on how to deal with a mismatch between shell and liner and an apology on their mistake. But the response I get is this. What further puzzled me is that how come they boot fitted my daughter 18.5 last year and 17.5 this year. Apparently they don't know what they are doing, or not willing to do it correctly.

I needed one new hang standard to make my Elfa system accommodate multiple tasks. I first tried going to the Container Store in Palo Alto. The head Elfa woman at that store (Megan?) was extremely rude. I left frustrated and confused with what should have been a simple purchase. The next time I had business in the Bay Area, yesterday, I tried the San Jose location on Stevens Creek. OMG, night and day difference in experience! Becky retrieved the piece I thought I needed. When I commented that it looked different, she showed me the track and asked if it was the same as my track. Even though Becky has only worked for the Container Store for a few years, she is knowledgeable about the older, discontinued Elfa systems! We talked pleasantly about my options. I went home with the newer hang standard, which at least have slots that align to my older standards. Becky went out of her way to make sure I have her contact information. She even offered to put together a new system for me to just pick up, if I emailed her a picture of my current system with measurements. The entire interaction was friendly and helpful. I will definitely return to the San Jose Container Store and tell my friends! I am disabled and have an accent, but neither of those qualities make me stupid. I don't know why the woman in Palo Alto talked to me that way.

The store is a little smaller than I thought (you can see the whole store right when you enter), and the prices were steeper that I thought (ie, tiny enamel pins are $12 and $16!) -- so after such a long drive to get there, I didn't end up buying anything, which is very OFF BRAND of me! Momstera Lounge is at the end of the little downtown, so it was fun to walk around and made the most of our long drive. The store is super cute though, and if I lived closer, I'd probably check out one of their classes.

Just like everyone else, we find ourselves exploring different hobbies, and this Lounge was the definition of that. Not only do they offer services such as making moss art, tooth gems, and DJ lessons, but also a huge variety of other options. Everyone's thought is, "Why do I have to go somewhere to do this when I can buy it myself and do it?" However, you'll miss out on the community that was created by Momstera. It's located in Campbell, so it's also a community city with a lot of families and friends. I enjoyed making my moss art while listening to Charlene's DJ in the background. This would be such a cute event for birthdays or just bonding with friends. Bonus points are if you're a plant snob like me. There's a great variety of plants, pots, and plant decorations that you can purchase!
