Unfortunately, I missed out on their blackberry season that happened in May. In addition to the blueberries that were available for picking, peaches were sold in bushels placed on a table in their "store". Sometimes the owners are there to receive the money, and other times they run a honor system. Pencils were provided to write on the envelope to place it into the wooden box. The prices and size were posted on a sign the minute you walk inside. They were very reasonable, and fair compared to other farms. It was a hot sunny day, so the hubs picked quickly, since he tends to get sunburned and cranky lol. I'm the opposite, so I picked to my hearts content:) The blueberries were fresh and smaller than I'm used to. It tasted sweet and a little tart. The best part of it all, was that it was organic! Nowadays everything is sprayed, but this farm doesn't do that:) We revisited a few more times for picking. I knew the season was coming to a close, and needed some more to freeze. I made some cakes, and muffins out of the blueberries which lasted a few days. I sort of wished, I picked a large bucketful, cause as I'm writing this there is no more in the freezer. I'm sad lol We will be back!!!!

Originally, we were going to do one gallon but then switched to two quarts so we could split up and pick. They are cash only, so make sure to bring cash with you. There were so many blueberries to pick from. Rows and rows of ones that were ready to pick and others that should be ready in a week or so. There were a lot of flies and bees, so be cautious if you're allergic, but they didn't not bother us.

On the recommendation of a friend, we went to Holly Berry. It was a fair drive for us, about 30 miles each way. But it was well worth it. Thanksgiving weekend, we made the trip and found a great selection of trees at reasonable prices. "Reasonable" is of course relative but it was not more than I expected to pay for a nice fraser fir, anyway. The tree stayed fresh through the entire holiday season. We didn't even notice a lot of "branch droop" which is common with these trees, so we concluded it was really freshly cut. Friendly and helpful staff. We will go back in 2022, without hesitation.

Bottom Line: A huge variety of Christmas ornaments arranged by theme but very few local or unique…read moreornaments. My husband and I enjoyed browsing the two storied Christmas Mouse. There is a ton of inventory and the ornaments are arranged by theme, as shown in some of my pictures. The ornaments are largely the mass produced type that are made in China but I did see a small selection of ornaments which I think are (somewhat) locally made. This store is a great place to shop for ornaments for my "fun" Christmas tree that I string colored lights on and display in my basement rec room. But as far as my "classy" tree with white lights and silver and gold ornaments, I didn't see anything that suited that tree. In addition to ornaments, they have Christmas cards, nutcrackers and other seasonal decor. I left with an avocado ornament that is a great homage to my time in SoCal and perfect for my "fun" tree. The Christmas Mouse is a fun place to browse and to stay cool on a hot summer day.

We pulled in and should have opted for more time scheduled beforehand. Walking in I expected to have Christmas everywhere. I was not disappointed on this end. Christmas was everywhere, displayed in every single way possible. Sections set up by pop-culture icons. Those sections are well manicured and detailed. Then you start to roam, the sections start to mesh into one another. That is when you realize you have gone so far into the store that you don't remember where the front door is. But you don't really care as you start to discover that this place has so much more to offer than just Christmas. Some of it is evident as you notice that they have a snack shop, souvenirs, and wine tasting posted outside before you enter. But what you don't expect is that there are other holidays to explore here. Including the Halloween section that is, appropriately, downstairs. More maze like than you think could be possible here. Then you come into snack area. Everything in here is tempting. Especially the fudge. There area free samples to be had here, which is good, because I was interested but had no idea if I would like any of it. Very friendly staff here. Once you make your way back through the rooms and exit the front door you can explore more. Outside is a sitting section and there is restroom access.

Loss Prevention knows how bad it is their words were " we know about the danger in the area it is our only store in Virginia that we need to hire armed security". They never did and customers and theives continue to walk all over the spineless gutless management. The store is so cluttered and junky I don't know how you would ever shop there. Their entire AC system is falling apart but they won't fix it because the store is in a low income area as opposed to their Virginia Beach location where if the AC was broken they would have it fixed right away for THAT clientele.
