Honestly I never heard of them, but a referral from a happy customer is always your best advertising, it is in my business! My issue was minor at that time, they repaired my unit and I was impressed with how quickly they responded to my phone call and how quickly they arrived at my residence to make the repair. I don't know anything about Heating or A/C other than its uncomfortable in my home when they don't work! and that equipment is an expensive part of my home. So I'm always concerned to call for repairs knowing I have to trust the company I contract with and the information they provide me. Honestly how would I know or most of us for that matter if it was a $5.00 part or an $8000 unit I needed. I was pleased with the service they provided two years ago and there very fair price for the repair they did for me. Since that time I have recommended them to friends, family and my clients. About a week ago I turned on my heater to discover after a few minutes it turned off, same when I tried the A/C. I thought I would do some DYI so I changed the batteries in the thermostat took the instruction manual out and checked all the settings, but it still wasn't working. I was called Arctic Air the same day and before the end of the day Brent was out to check out my unit. I received phone call before he even left my property. He informed me a I had a cracked heater exchange along with a bad blower motor. He provided a breakdown of parts and labor, along with a complete explanation of the work to be performed, that was three days ago and tomorrow I will have heat in my home! Excellent service, excellent communications very fair prices. Don't hesitate to call Arctic Air you won't be disappointed! One thing I know from working many years myself in a retail service business, customer satisfaction and communication are key. I first had this company put in a brand new air…read moreconditioner unit in 2009 and every year, I would have them come out and check it to make sure it was still in great condition. My experience with this company had been great up until this year. I called to schedule a routine service like I had been annually and when I called, the person who answered had asked if he could call me back in five minutes as he was driving. He never returned my call. I called the following day and scheduled an appointment for the following week. This company never showed up or called. I called the following day and had asked what had happened and they had no response, but agreed to come out that same day for service. At this point I had turned on my air conditioner for two weeks without issues. Two men came out and stated that they needed to replace a part and add three pounds of coolant, which I was more than happy to pay for and totaled $367; however, two days later, my house remained at 86 degrees. I called and the phone was answered, "Hello?" I had to confirm that this was indeed Alvarez Air. They returned the following day and told me that two parts needed to be replaced and heard nothing more, so I called every two hours to get an update and they kept saying that they were on the phone with the manufacturer and that they would call me back. The owner called back and alerted me that it would take 5-7 business days to get one of the two parts. He also told me that they would only charge me $120 for the labor to perform the warranty repair. On the 6th business day, I called to get an update. Again, they stated that they would find out and get back to me. I waited three hours and called again and the receptionist handed the phone to the owner, who identified himself as Art Alvarez, and he immediately was upset. He told me that the part was in, but they couldn't come out for two more days because they were "busy with 32 service calls" and that none of these calls were "for air conditioners that were working." He yelled, "If I have to repeat myself, you can just call another company to fix it!" He then stated, "You know what? I'll mail you the $362 that you already paid and you can deal with it!" I was upset and frustrated because I do not know where this anger was coming from. I ended the call with agreeing to the date and scheduled time he proposed; however, it was unclear as to if he was going to perform the repair. My mom called the following day and the receptionist confirmed the appointment. Today was the day of the repair. After two visits, the air conditioner seems to be working; however, we were charged $300 and not the $120 that was discussed the previous week. Having been without an air conditioner the last 13 days, I was reluctant at asking any further questions. I am not sure if this company was taken over by someone else recently, but I have never experienced such poor customer service, especially from someone who identified himself as the owner on the telephone. Needless to say, I will no longer do business with Alvarez Air.

He sent my husband a text after 5:40pm saying he was an hour behind and I honestly didn't think he'd show up. I thought he'd reschedule for tomorrow. He was more than an hour late, and that's totally ok. We have had our AC serviced and even had all new duct work installed and no one ever pulled the back panels off our unit to see. Just a month ago another company came out and said we were low on refrigerant and we had to pay $600+ and all he said was "if that doesn't work we will have to take it all apart and weld some stuff in the coils or you're just going to have to get a new unit" the air doctor came and took the back part off, cleaned all of the sludge on it and now we know no one ever has done what he does. And now it's absolutely amazing. His level of professionalism, his dedication, his time and commitment to keep appointments in 105° heat! We don't want to use any other company again. As a small business owner who values honesty and a strong work ethic over all else, I'm so happy…read morethat we were referred to Daerek. We were without air conditioning for five days. A different company had come out and gave us an estimate, which seemed high, so Daerek was called out to reassess the job. This was a last-minute request, and Daerek's schedule was already full, but when he heard how long we'd been without air conditioning, he was at our house in no time. Within five minutes, Daerek pointed out that an expensive part that the other company wanted to replace actually wasn't bad at all. The part had been replaced last year by the previous company and was just out of warranty, so no doubt upselling was on their mind. Unlike the previous company, Daerek quickly identified the actual issues with the system and, although the work was going to be labor-intensive, in the attic, and it was right in the middle of the hottest part of a triple-digit day, he immediately set to work. Daerek was in the attic for almost two hours straight, running diagnostics, cleaning, and repairing our system. But he wasn't done. He also took care of some maintenance tasks on the outside unit, and recommended which types of filters to use, how often to change them, optimal temperature settings and what kind of cooling to expect with our system versus the climate, and answered every other question I had. Daerek is a consummate professional, extremely hard worker, patient, highly knowledgeable, and above all, trustworthy. From one tradesman to another, thank you Daerek for being one of the good guys out there.
