Great flavor, wonderful service…read more We ordered a Bischoff frappe and a caramel frappe. Both with an espresso shot. The espresso has a good flavor. No added sugar, so the drinks weren't overly sweet. We LOVED it. Most American frappes are TOO sweet. We tried the Turkish coffee for something new. It has an interesting aftertaste that we couldn't nail down. I suspect this is an acquired taste. We are glad we tried it. We also sampled the coconut, and cannoli chip ice creams. They were delicious! We highly recommend this shop. PS: the pastries and deserts looked amazing! Too bad we'd had a large dinner.

Follow Tea is a bubble tea place my friend and I went to in Metairie, LA. It is spacious inside…read morewith a clean, modern design. One thing that sets Follow Tea apart from other bubble tea places I've been to previously, is that they offer cheese as the foamy part of your tea. They also offer a variety of fruit and milk teas. I was intrigued by the cheese, so I got the Lychee Rose Cheese Tea. This is made using cream cheese, the same type of cheese that cheesecake is made of. This is actually traditionally a Taiwanese method of making bubble tea. My friend got the Passionfruit Tea without the cheese. My Lychee Rose Cheese Tea arrived beautifully presented. The cup was made of sturdy, frosted plastic. On top there were some dried roses. This was so tasty! I loved the flavor, it was subtly sweet, and the cheese provided a slight savory balance. The tiny pieces of lychee were an added chewy bonus. My friend also enjoyed her Passionfruit tea. I wish we had some bubble tea places that offered the cheese foam, here in Connecticut, maybe I'll have to look a bit harder. We had a lovely time at Follow Tea, and enjoyed their tasty products.

The oyster noodles stood out with generous portions of fresh oysters and a rich, savory sauce that paired really well with the noodles. We also tried the fried items, which were crispy on the outside and juicy inside, especially when dipped in the sauces provided. The steamed beef dish was tender and flavorful, with a nice home-style touch. Overall, everything tasted fresh and well-prepared. The portion sizes were fair, and the variety made it easy to share and try different dishes. Definitely a solid spot if you're craving comforting Asian dishes with a bit of variety. Would come back again!

The drink was $7.14 which isn't too bad, but the taste is great. It's very refreshing and not heavy at all. I came on a Sunday morning and the inside was a little busy, so I decided to sit outside. They have maybe 4 tables outside with music playing so it was quite nice. One more thing -- i really like the cup lid. Sometimes you'll go to a place and the lid makes it really hard to get an even stir/shake but with their lid it's so easy as you just plug the top with a finger and shake. Small detail but it's something I appreciated. The matcha coconut water is a must try!

Dough Nguyener's Bakery -- 4…read more Dough Nguyener's really introduced me and my son to the flavors of ube and pandan... and I still can't believe I went my whole life without them. Like where have I been?! We are forever grateful for that alone. As someone who already loves Vietnamese culture through food here in New Orleans, this place just hits. Vietnamese coffee is a staple for me--not even for energy, but for the flavor. If you know, you know... that bold, strong, chicory-meets-condensed-milk moment. It's rich, it's cultural, it's intentional. And when you start adding things like pandan cold foam? Simple, but it speaks volumes about the influence and beauty of the Vietnamese community here. I respect it, deeply. Now let's talk about that Croffle... a croissant-waffle situation. I went with the Chantilly and berries because... you already know, I'm gonna choose what feels like home every time. The cream was smooth, the fruit was fresh, everything worked. My only thing--personally--it was a little heavy on the almonds for me. Still good, just my preference. We also had The American--eggs, bacon, French ham, hand-cut fries, garlic aioli, and a baguette. I shared it with my son and made my own little sandwich moment with it. Used the aioli as a base, layered the eggs, bacon, and ham... and I feel like that's exactly what it was meant for. Solid, simple, and filling. I've tried a few other things too like the bánh mì and donuts. The bánh mì was good, donuts were okay... not my go-to for that. But that frozen cocktail? Listen... it was TOO good. Took it to a festival with me and between that drink and that sun, I slept the whole festival away lol. Overall, I'll definitely be back. I still want to try more from the kitchen--especially that chicken everybody keeps talking about. This is a great spot for early weekend brunch, late evening studying, or weekday coffee runs. Not too small, not too big. Beautiful lighting. A really good addition to Gretna.
