This place was awesome, we came in around 7:45 AM for breakfast with our two young kids for a quick breakfast before my husband went to work. My husband got a breakfast sandwich on a biscuit with sausage, pepper, jack cheese, and an egg, I also got a breakfast sandwich on a biscuit with bacon, cheddar cheese, and an egg, and our kids split a double chocolate chip muffin which was so decadent and rich (yummy!!). My husband and I both got Frappuccinos, his was the funnel cake, which was absolutely delicious, and I got the brown sugar cinnamon, which was also very delicious! The bathrooms were nice and clean, and so was the rest of the café, the employees were very friendly and helpful when it came to questions about menu items, and were very knowledgeable! We were in the area and was looking for a breakfast place and found this small cafe and bakery. This cute little place is only have about 5 tables for dine-in. You place your order at the counter and paid with the cashier. Menu is simple but they have variety of items to choose from for breakfast and also for lunch. I had the Turkey Swiss Toast, Tomato Basil Soup and a cup cakes for a taste of sweet at the end. Portion is perfect for breakfast, not gonna makes you full and feel sleepy! Dining area is clean, the bathroom is clean and this cafe is part of the office building so Parking wont be a problem. Really love this place, definitely will be my favorite! read more

I visited the Honeydoux after going on a plantation tour nearby. I was worried I wouldn't be able to grab a seat since I was late for lunch and the cafe is small. Luckily I was able to grab one of the last tables. The environment is clean and the service here is excellent. Everyone here is friendly and helpful. I ordered a chicken Caesar salad and a sandwich. The bread and cheese they use on the sandwiches are amazing! The chicken salad was nothing special, but had fresh romaine and well cooked chicken. Overall, I'd definitely recommend the Honeydoux cafe whether you're sitting down for lunch or grabbing a quick bite to go. read more

Stopped in right before they were closing to pick up the soup special of the week...stuffed artichoke. I've had this before and I'm so obsessed. It's rich, creamy and delicious. Specials get posted on Mondays on their Facebook page so you have to look for it. They do have tomato basil soup every day and it's really good too. The salads are very fresh and made right in front of you. The desserts are mind blowing and downright sinfully delicious. I promise you'll definitely go back. read more

I came before a tour in the area as I was feeling peckish. The whole place was so very cute and clean. For breakfast, I got the cafe au lait, a sausage, egg and cheddar biscuit and a funfetti cupcake. All of it was so delicious and reasonably priced that I came back after the tour for lunch. Went in today for the second time. Brought my daughter as she loves chicken salad and they have a great one! Lovely little place, kind of ducked off. Much needed in this area. Lots of wonderful pastries (I've tried 4, only 15 or so to go) haha Last time I got tomato soup and a BLT. Soup was very similar to marinara sauce. No good. Today I got just a ham & cheese melt, but I wanted pickles on it and they don't even have pickles in the shop. That was crazy to me! They serve a huge variety of sandwiches, so idk what's going on there. Chicken salad in croissant was on point! As was the lemon fan danish- YUM! I love little local bakeries and was so excited to see this place open since theres nothing else like it around. The highlight here are the bakery items since they are all made in house. Which means it's super fresh. No store bought muffins sitting on a shelf for a week. The muffins here are fluffy and moist. This place is also a cafe with simple but creative lunch items. They have soup, salads, and sandwiches. Every experience here has been pleasant. The lunch wait isnt the fastest as it's a couple of girls behind the counter but the food was good. I wish I lived closer to this delightful cafe. If I did, I'd probably be here every morning. The baristas were so charming and helpful. I went here on whim after dropping my friend off at the airport. Once I entered in, I didn't want to leave. If I had the biological capacity, I would have tried every food item on the menu! This is a cute little place that's kind of hidden away but a good location if you are visiting one of the doctor's offices in the building. The menu was more extensive than I expected and the breakfast sandwiches and scones were good. The coffee was also decent. The wifi wasn't working when I was there but that may have been due to hurricane damage as it was only a few weeks after Hurricane Ida. My only major complaint is that the chairs are horribly uncomfortable, although I know these chairs are popular now. They are the metal chairs that cut in on your hips so if you have any hips at all the metal cuts on the side of your hips in a painful manner. Clearly these chairs were designed by men and I hate that they are so popular now! read more

Stopped in after taking my daughter to urgent care. She loves going to honeydoux as a treat. She had a specific drink a few months ago and couldn't remember what it was. Let me start off by saying any critique given is just my personal opinion & that I really really want this place to do well & stay because we have nothing in the area like it. 1. Decor & location are both great! Clean, cute, easy to access. More chairs could be added for when occupied tables take them from empty tables, leaving the empty tables not able to be used b/c they're chair-less. 2. Sweets & coffee- stopped by twice for 3 different coffees and 5 different pastries or sweets and LOVED THEM ALL. Prices on these are excellent as well. 3. Forks are so small & I'm a small person. I laughed at my fiancé using it. Bigger ones requested! 4. Caesar salad needs serious revamping- it was kinda large, which would be fine for splitting, but I actually think a smaller side salad version of this would do better to have along with your sandwich/wrap or soup. The greens need to be cut into smaller pieces & if it was tossed in dressing before, it wouldn't be so dry and underwhelming. Just my opinion. 5. Tomato soup is seriously delicious, and I'm such a soup lover & critic. A+ 6. Panini was on the small side- fine if you order something else with it or you have a smaller stomach, but it was not enough for my fiancé, but we made up for it by getting sweets to-go. Not a bad idea! ;) I'll definitely be back many more times because I live nearby, but I think some tweaks need to be made & hope that over time, that will happen. I know it's new, so we shall see how things progress. Very happy to have this cafe here though! read more

New bakery that just opened on River Road in Destrehan. It was started by a graduate of the John Folse Culinary Institute and alumni of Sucre who aspired to open up her own spot. Her menu is just getting off the ground with a soft opening. By word of mouth only, her store is already packed with customers. She is currently doing toasted sandwiches and melts, soups, coffee/espresso, as well as a large variety of her dessert and pastry creations, with plans to expand this soon.
