    Voodoo Chicken
    Debra K.

Dinner on a Monday night with an out of town guest who is a Cajun fanatic. He deemed the shrimp and grits just spicy enough. I enjoyed the Voodoo Chicken and would order it again. I loved the green beans and the smashed red potatoes that I ordered as sides. The Po' Boy was gargantuan. The Apricot With Your Pants down was a delicious cocktail. Loved the vibe and decor and our server was outstanding. Will return.

This was my second visit to Nola's -- I loved it so much the first time that I came back to celebrate my birthday. The food was absolutely delicious! The fried platter was cooked to perfection, with dippers that were both unique and flavorful. I enjoyed my favorite drink, absinthe served à la louche, along with a creole classic: a muffuletta sandwich with a side of maque choux. My partner had the Cajun St. Claude kebab. Everything was so good we had to take the beignets home to savor later! A huge thank you to Lauren for taking such wonderful care of us on my special day -- she was attentive, warm, and made the whole experience memorable.

    A very beautiful setting

I ended up here by researching the top 10 romantic places to have dinner on Valentine's night in Tulsa. It was a great disappointment. We had another couple literally 4' from us sharing the same bench seat. Across the room was a church ladies group that was causing a lot of commotion with their Valentines version of Dirty Santa. Now as far as the food was concerned, it wasn't the best that I had ever had, but it was definitely good. We had to wait awhile on our entrees , but they were hot and fresh which is definitely a great start. I expected more flavor being a Cajun restaurant, but it was edible for sure. Just bring along your own container of Slap Ya Mama The waitress was very friendly and done a great job. I think her name was Kristiana. So if you're looking for a great place for a casual dinner, this place is great. If you're looking for quiet and romantic, it's not here.

I ordered to-go. Everything was awsome! The rice was a little dry for the husband's liking but still flavored. Beingets and sauce awsome as usual.

Still love this place! Portions are huge so you will probably have leftovers. Their oysters are my favorite in Tulsa. The food is always fresh and great, highly recommend the shrimp poboy. Service is also exceptional, with our server going above and beyond to ensure no ice in my water (I had a sore throat) 10/10 we will always come back when in tulsa.

Wait time was less than 15 minutes, and well worth it! Gumbo was well worth it, mine was Shrimp Gumbo. I had the Jumbolia, in a sour dough bread bowl. Outstanding!! Everyone sampled my and it was the winner. Shrimp cheese grits was seasoned with hot sauce, a little over powering. Good night, celebrating a horse show win!!

We ended up at Nolas for a birthday brunch. We ordered a bloody Mary and a mambo Mimosa. The bloody Mary (the first I ever tried) was really good. This one was made with dill pickle vodka and it played really well with the tomato and spice. The mambo Mimosa come with your choice of 2 juices so I chose cranberry and orange. It was light and refreshing. For the meal I decided on the crab cake omelette. The crab cakes were crispy and very flavorful, with a good balance of crab and filler. The omelette was well cooked and the beurre blanc sauce was a perfect accompaniment. The potatoes were coated in Cajun seasoning, which I really enjoyed. The meal was delicious. If there was any downside it would be how dark the restaurant is. I get it's part of the New Orleans ambience, but it was a bit hard to see.

    VOODOO STYLE chicken

The voodoo chicken was pretty amazing - perfectly cooked chicken with the sauce that had shrimp and crab? Yes please. The grits were eh, I'm always reminded every time I eat grits that I'm just not a grits person. But the sauce made them edible for me! The lobster Mac was a $5 side up charge and I think just keep to the regular Mac. I understand why there wasn't much lobster but mys well just get the good side still. Service was on time, I placed a to go order on their website. The front lobby looked super cute and romantic so I can just imagine the rest!

Went for Mother's Day's evening meal. Alligator Appetizer was delicious with the dipping sauce. My main entree was the Voodoo Chicken. I ate half and had the rest for lunch the next day. It was even better the next day in the air fryer. Yum! Definitely planning to return for gumbo or Jambalaya. Well worth the experience.

Holy moly! So glad I got to eat here. Made reservations for 11 on a Sunday and was surprised it wasn't packed yet. My partner had come here once before and was nervous about finding a table. From the moment we entered the space, we were greeted with all lovely employees. The menu is pretty big and made it hard to decide what to get. My partner and I almost ordered three entrees and an appetizer but settled on the crab cakes, Gri gri shrimp with cheese grits and the Satchmo's red beans and ricely. The crab cakes was delicious, you could really taste the crab instead of just filling. I should have asked for a slice of lemon, that would've made it perfect but it was still very good. The Gri Gri shrimp and cheese grits were absolutely incredible. From that first bite of grits, I knew I was going to love this place. It was spicy, cheesy with a bomb of flavor. The juicy large shrimp weren't overcooked and you get a great amount of shrimp for the price. I was lucky enough to also try my partner's Satchmo's red beans and ricely and wow. He substituted it with boudin and I was surprised it was one large link. I believe it came with Nola's potato casserole and the most delicious beans I may have ever had. We also ordered a side of maque choux which also had a bunch of flavor. The service was top notch, from the hostess to our server and food runners. Honestly, I expected the bill to be much larger for the quantity and quality of the food.

This food was so delicious! We were told it would be a long wait but we barely waited 10 minutes. The restaurant is fairly dark and has several different areas to sit. Although the food aaa delicious, it was quite expensive.

Came on a Friday evening, so expected a wait even for a party of two. We were seated on the heated patio area in under 30 minutes. Our server was friendly and the food was delicious. We had the Cajun queso, voodoo chicken and crab cakes-all flavorful.

Is this a pet friendly place?

They have an area that would be cool to sit outside, but I don't think they have any chairs or tables set up. Definitely not pet friendly inside. Maybe service dogs but you would have to check. It's a pretty nice restaurant inside.

    Do you need reservations?

Yes reservations are a good idea !!!

I really wish I remembered the drink I had the first time around, what I do remember is that it was really good. The drink I had recently was the Don Diego de La Ve & it's something I'd get again + would be my usual. Anything tequila, it's automatic (rum is right there at a very close 2nd) when it comes to an alcohol beverage + cocktail. Has addition of ancho reyes, a chile liqueur, that's super subtle in the drink along with lemon lime & agave. My homie looked at my drink & said that's something he should've ordered. *Side Note* I took a look at the menu & I'm convinced I had the Cousin Eddie (when I first visited this place). As I stated that rum is a close 2nd to tequila & the Cousin Eddie has Bumbu (rum) that I already enjoy on its own.

I ordered apricot iced tea, the vegan fried chicken sandwich, and pineapple upside-down cake. I don't normally like chicken sandwiches that much, but this was really good. And the highlight was getting to choose any of the salads on the menu as the side salad that comes with it. I had the hearts of palm salad with vegan cheese instead of the usual parmesan. It was delicious! I also got to try the cauliflower wings and a bite of the Korean BBQ tofu sandwich. I liked that sandwich too, but not as much. I do like the way they fried the tofu, but it seemed different than what was described on the menu. It seemed just deep fried, but not battered. My only complaint is the layout of the building and the lack of directional signage. I didn't park in the parking lot, so I didn't know to enter from the back and I ended up on a long confusing walk both outside and inside the building before I finally reached the dining room.
