Chris started off being very responsive and great. Also offered us a two year warranty on labor. Took over $1400 in repairs and did do a lot of work on the car. However, car still has a thermostat issue (the temperature is perennially low). Also, it's unclear whether the head gasket was even a problem with the car. There was actually an issue with the water pump and I paid extra to get the car back into working condition. I got my motor mounts replaced but they are misaligned. I contacted him a couple times to come back and fix it, but he's been unresponsive. Due to the warranty papers I could take him to court over the motor mounts, and maybe the thermostat issue. It's okay though, I'll just take it to a more reputable mechanic. read more

Do not use this company. I hired them to replace the engine in my 06 Honda Accord. The owner Chris ordered and installed the wrong engine into my car. I have filed a complaint with the BBB and Nomadic has since let that close as an issue unresolved. Nomadic also has an F eating with the BBB. read more

I will start with I am not often a Yelper, and i believe in many instances it has been to commend not just condemn. But I am beyond frustrated with Nomadic and Chris. I arranged for them to do a *$220 outboard/Inboard tune-up Special! to start off the season for my boat on June 1 - NOTHING was wrong with my boat. As others report, there was a bit of rescheduling to actually make appointment happen, but nothing I would have worried about, but in retrospect adds to the argument of why to NOT use Nomadic. We discussed while he was underway adding an oil change and he suggested a water pump, this is where things go greatly awry. He says $30 for part, $10 for labor - i say then do it. Later, i get a text - "they sold me the wrong pump, right one in tomorrow...boat purrs like a kitten...Add charges for the pump Parts $60, Labor/trip $60. HUH?! $40 to $120...bait and switch? Or you don't know what you are doing...turns out to be B. Then i remove the cover to head to the lake to find my boat is FILTHY inside - i don't mean just footprints on the seats, that is expected - full greasy hand prints and smears are all over the upholstery & body in the back of the boat. That's how you leave your completed work? Certainly not the worst of the issues i wind up having, but another red flag for sure. Once i get my boat on the water that weekend, i have multiple issues - high idle, strange thump/bump in gear, and can't get full throttle. While underway diagnosing, realize the boat is taking on water in the engine. I attempt to reach Chris, but need to do something as i have a boat taking on water at the lake 1.5 hours away from Phoenix. I have a mechanic friend, with 15+ years experience that lives up at the lake (i would use him regularly if it wasn't a 1.5hr trip). We get the boat drained, and to him to learn that the pump is not marine grade, installed wrong (1 gasket on left, 2 on right), and there is a hairline fracture in the pump (maybe before install, maybe from the install). Turns out water pumps would never cost $30 either, go figure. I leave my boat with friend mechanic to order me the right pump and install, and will return to review other issues. Attempt to reach Chris via text and phone from Sunday to Wednesday before i get a text discussion back (apologizes, he was sick - i have been sick, and if I had a message that the boat I just serviced took on water my response would have been within 24 hours max). Outcome: i will have a refund and a coupon heading your way tonight or in the am, it takes a few days". As of this review date (june 20, that had not happened). I return to the lake and my new water pump ($150 for the part, not anywhere close to $30). Take it on the lake to see if the other issues subside, hoped some of the issues were because we were taking on water through the pump and would go away. No such luck - still a high idle, thump/bump and throttle - while better, is still not performing right at all. Return to shore, and discover that the spark plugs (he installed new ones, again not marine grade) are not set up right - #7 is just dangling, not attached to anything in the engine, and #5 is where #7 should be (for those of you that understand engine workings)...viola! put boat back on water and thump/bump goes away and throttle is working normally. Still high idle which he/friend works on for me on water and says to leave with him, it's set improperly and now wants to look at all the other things that may have been touched by Nomadic. I attempt to write an email to Nomadic this morning, but the email on the website is non-functioning & bounces back, so send via text and request response in 24 hours for a refund of all but the $20 oil change (I should probably be more suspect it's the right grade/type), since the rest of the service did not do anything but actually cause need for multiple repairs. His response is an unprofessional, unedited verbal text that is jibber-ridden. But conclusion for him, "i will send you a refund for the pump and install [already past due refund], as all the other services were fine, and are still using the parts [not sure what that references], and the carb was rebuilt, etc". HUH. I guess it ran "perfect" in the driveway, it's just when you put it on water things go crappy; kinda important for a boat to work well on the water. He also restates his warranty, saying he "would have taken care of any issues...but now that another mechanic...it voids the warranty". I guess having a warranty like that is important to keep from giving back all your sales in refund, because i imagine I am not the only one not willing to ever have Nomadic touch my boat or any other engine again. read more

Look this business up Chris the owner is not a true mechanic or a business owner this guy will rip you off. ""sketchy work"" I had him rebuild my boat engine took almost three months to get it back. I've taking it out twice once for the test drive with Chris and another time the next day. by the end of that day bolts and parts were falling off the boat engine. boat does not run as of now I will be suing Chris. You'll find that he comes up with many excuses about why it took so long, why he never answers his phone or text messages, Parts come in late or wrong, he's sick or somebody sick excuses should be his name. I had a real mechanic check out my engine and he says he doubts that it was even rebuilt metal fragments in the cylinders. All 4 cylinders reading between 70 and 80 psi when I gave engine to Chris I only had one cylinder reading 80 psi and the others were 100 PSI. I notified Chris knowing he would have some weird response. his response was that it was my fault and I should have had him do a final tune. I haven't taken it out since he turned it. Absolute disappointment! Trusted Chris with my car and my money and now have nothing to show for either. Hired NMM to fix a leak and replace timing belt and was very comfortable having read reviews and seeing BBB rating. Because of the duration of repairs I was unable to stay onsite, so I paid in advance. When I returned, Car seemed put back together and closed up. Moments after my return, I received a text from Mechanic stating that my car was "still not running." Problem is..vehicle was running fine other than battery needing charged prior to work and he left without trying to troubleshoot or contact me. Continued inspection to find several components and bolts not put back in place in addition to the fact that the leak was not fixed. Made several attempts to schedule him to come back, but I clearly was not his priority having already paid him (so much for Guaranteed work). I have been slow to give him negative reviews, hoping he would return my money or fix my car. Neither has happened as of this point, nor is he responding to my text or calls. This is the second time I've used them. They did all four brakes and replaced my shocks and struts. They showed up on time and did excellent work as usual. I have a 2014 Nissan with 86,000 miles on it and need good maintenance. I will have them flush my transmission next. Thanks for a job well done once again! read more

Scheduled an appointment and no call ,no show til 2 days later , was recommended by a friend but I would not recommend poor scheduling

Christopher Clark showed up at my house to replace a transmission on Sunday morning. After I went to bed (I work graves.). He text me and my daughter saying the transmission he was selling me was the wrong one. But he had found others in Phoenix but couldn't get them till Monday morning. My daughter asked him if he was available on Monday. He said "yes. And I will contact your dad first thing". When I get up. I find he took all of the parts that were removed to get to transmission. As well as hooking up the alarm and setting it all while he took my keys with him. I waited till 7:30 to message him. Then again at 9:30. He responded at 11:30. (It's now almost my bed time). He said he couldn't finish it till Wednesday I told him I need my keys. All my work stuff is in my car. He would not bring them. After heated texts he now expects me to pay him after he almost cost me my job. Took all of my parts. And my keys. All while lying to myself and my daughter. I even went to his house. To give him one more chance to return my property so I could get my car put back together. I even bought the correct transmission and gave him the option to finish the job and get paid. He refuses to return my stolen property without payment. This is now become a civil lawsuit against him an nomadic mechanics and fabrication. I scheduled an appointment on a Tuesday for the next day, Wednesday, at 5pm. At 3pm Wednesday he called me to ask to come early. I said OK despite the fact I had to hustle and rearrange some things. 45 minutes later he says he has to cancel and can't come until Friday at 8am. I was a little annoyed but things happen so I was willing to cut him some slack. Friday morning I prepare for his arrival. This involves moving large items around so I can get the seadoo out of the garage to a spot he can work on it. He never shows. When I contact him he says he texted me to reschedule yet again. When I tell him I never got a text he is quick to reply he would send a screen shot but "I had to hard reset my phone last night due to network issues". The nerve of this guy to lie to me about a text after wasting hours of my time!! Do yourself a favor: find someone else and save your precious time. What a flake. read more

When Chris first came to fix my car he did an excellent job. The next time I called him to repair my car he finally came after several missed appointments and during this repair, his assistant broke the O2 sensor and he let Chris know to which he said it should he fine. Several days later the sensor no longer worked and the check engine light came on. I called Chris and he said it's not an important part but I offered to vuy the part myself (which cost $100+ no less) if he would do the labor for free. Sounds fair to me since him/his assistant broke it. I later required a major surgery and before that I asked Chris to take care of my daughter's vehicle while I was in the hospital. A month later when I was able to speak with my daughter she informed me she had attempted to speak with Chris to get an appointment and had no luck. After this I confronted Chris about him not answering only after missing my calls several times. I finally got in contact with him and he apologized for the delay and promised to call the following day. Again he did not call and after several days of waiting I have yet to hear from Chris and the sensor he damaged has not been repaired. I do not believe leaving your customers in the dark is professional behavior and he could have easily kept me in touch with his schedule and let me know if he's busy but he has chosen to completely ignore my requests. I would no longer recommend him based on these recent events. If anyone is interested I can provide the text logs of said issues. read more
