This is an interesting concept, sort of a Korean fast food place. It's actually sit-down dining downstairs, or you can go upstairs if you're ordering for takeout. I had the Kimbap, which is a Korean form of sushi similar to a sushi roll that might have pickled vegetables in it, plus whatever other ingredient you want. I had the bulgogi beef, and it was very good and quite filling. One would be a complete lunch. I also tried the Tteokbokki, which is an unusual dish that is technically rice cakes, but I would compare it to a bowl with sliced-up hot dogs, gnocchi, and melted cheese in a slightly spicy and slightly sweet broth Service was friendly. read more

I came to Nomnom Seoul because a friend invited me, and it ended up being such a comforting, no-fuss Korean meal, simple, satisfying, and exactly what you want when you're craving something warm and filling. We ordered a set with gimbap, tteokbokki, and noodles. The gimbap was generously stuffed with colorful vegetables and rice, wrapped tightly in seaweed and sliced nicely, fresh, clean flavors, and perfect for sharing. The tteokbokki had that classic sweet-and-spicy sauce, with chewy rice cakes that really hit the spot (comfort food at its best). The noodles were light but surprisingly satisfying, served warm and simply topped, a great balance alongside the richer, spicy dish. Everything came out neatly on a tray, which made it feel casual and fun, like a cozy quick meal you'd come back to often. I found a Korean food restaurant called Nomnom while staying in Vancouver. Online. I ordered online for Nomnom Tteokbokki, Bulgogi and Sausage kimbaps, and spicy cold noodles. I walked quite a bit from downtown Robson and arrived, but there were quite a few customers inside the store. The most popular online Tteokbokki is sweet and salty, with an addictive taste. Kimbab was quite voluminous and I could only eat half of it. The cold noodles were no soup and had a lot of vegetables in the them. There are many other things I want to try, so I definitely want to come back here. read more

The three things I ordered were a strawberry matcha latte, pork cutlet omurice, and mandukook (dumpling rice cake soup). I think the best thing I got was the pork cutlet omurice, it was a huge portion and the pork cutlet sauce was so good with the rice. The rice cake soup is a pass for next time, the soup base was just an instant noodle base so it tasted pretty artificial and not the homey taste I was looking for. The rice cakes and dumplings themselves were okay but I think the salty soup base really threw everything off for me. Lastly, the strawberry matcha was pretty solid - can't say I give my 100% recommendation for it but I think it hit the spot for my craving. read more

Stumbled upon this cute place that serves Korean food and decided to give it a try for lunch. So glad I did!! I ordered a regular kimbap, it was tasty and a very generous portion!!! It came with a small soup and radish on the side. The service was great as the staff were very very friendly. Would definitely come back soon to try other kimbap!! The interior had a fun and bright design at the same time simple with some seating at two different levels - tables at the lower level and bar height tables on the second level. I came for a weekend quick lunch. This is a counter service place that services mostly kimbap and beverages. Theres a selection of deep fried items too. I ordered a kimbap (spicy pork) and an iced americano. The kimbap was pretty good. freshly made, and MASSIVE. Also comes with a side of yellow pickles and a bowl of peppery soup. That combo alone is more than plenty of food for a meal, and this was $14 i believe. The basic kimbap without meat is cheaper. Self-service lemon water in the store. The iced americano was a gigantic 1L portion for $3. Cant complain really. I saw them make it with real espresso shots too. Youre not getting this kind of value from a typical coffee shop. The food quality is a solid 4/5. Vancouver, especially downtown, has several korean restaurants but is not known for particularly amazing korean food. This isnt Korea, Japan, or k-town Los Angeles. So I LOL'd at the other reviewer complaining the food is bland and convenience store in Japan were better. Wrong country buddy haha. As far as Vancouver standards for this kind of stuff is concerned, this is pretty good, and the value is great. For a Robson eatery, pricing is good for what you get. Restaurant is clean, spacious. It is counter service though, and you order at an electronic kiosk. Street meter parking. They seem to have lots of takeout orders. Not sure if you also get the pickles and soup if you order takeout. Exceeded expectations! I had questions about ingredients in the ramyun and the staff was not only totally knowledgeable about what was in everything on the menu but also very nice about it, not making me feel like a nuisance for asking. In general, they were very polite and seemed on top of things. After confirming that all of the ramyun is made with beef stock (which I don't eat), and learning that they were out of my second choice, tteokbokki, I ordered a tofu kimbap and sikhye. (The tofu kimbap itself is vegetarian but the soup is made with anchovies - let them know if you don't want the soup.) It came out pretty quickly despite there being a few orders ahead of me and the rolls being made to order. I've eaten a fair amount of Korean food but this was my first kimbap. It was very good. The vegetables in the filling were super fresh and crunchy, I really liked the flavour. Usually I wouldn't eat a single roll of sushi or sushi-adjacent food (considering kimbap a sushi-adjacent food here) as a complete dinner, but this was a really big roll and I found it filling enough. The broth served as a side was nice and hot to contrast with the room temp roll. I also enjoyed the sikhye and liked how it had a bit of rice at the bottom (I've only had sikhye a few times and previously when I've tried it, it's just been the juice). The atmosphere is kind of like a fast food place, but the food is presented very nicely on a large metal tray with pretty wooden plates, and the staff will clear the table for you once you're finished. The shop is situated on two levels and the counter to order is on the second, up a short flight of stairs. There is seating on the lower level and the staff seems very accommodating so I'm sure you could work something out if you wanted to eat here and stairs are an issue, but that's an obstacle to be aware of if you have limited mobility. read more

Nomnom serves up kimbaps that are chock full of quality ingredients, and they're honestly large enough to serve as a light lunch. I've tried most of their offerings and my favourites are the regular and the spicy pork kimbap. The staff are very efficient and you get your food quite quickly. I believe they use some sort of kimbap machine, so every piece is always uniform and even with delicious ingredients. The only thing that I didn't enjoy too much was the spicy rice cakes, as they seemed slightly undercooked, but perhaps it was an off day. read more

Cute Korean snack shop located in DT. They have a very simple menu offering freshly made kimbap (perfect for on the go), spicy rice cakes, ramyun and a drink menu. A friend and I each ordered a Kimbap and shared the spicy rice cake. The $12 bulgogi kimbap I ordered was quite tasty and portion was quite big. Robson street is full of Korean restaurants, the newest addition would be this cute Korean snack bar! The aesthetic of this place is super clean and modern and I adore the branding. They even have their own merch for sale! Their menu features numerous Korean comfort food like kimbap, ramen and tteobokki. They have more than 10 flavors of kimbap to choose from and I got the pork belly kimbap. The kimbap is stuffed with a variety of ingredients, I also like the ratio of the rice and fillings. Honestly I didn't expect much but this is really good, I would rank it my second favorite kimbap spot in Vancouver! I also order a dumpling ramen, and it tastes as yummy as always. Have you ever seen an ice latte that big? The Vietnam Latte I got is bigger than my hand & face, not to mention it only cost $7 for this 1L latte. You are also able to purchase a 1L iced Americano just for $3!
