Once you enter it's just one room filled from bottom to top with candles. The owner came out of nowhere after we entered and started talking to us about his candle choices. He had a lot of judgement to give us including how he doesn't use soy candles because they car carcinogenic, and how often people burn their candles wrong and burn their wax wrong. He even tried to give me a paper showing me how to burn my candles saying it was a crime that no other candle shops ever tell their customers how to burn candles. I get that he wants to educate people but when trying to sell product to someone seems like a very strange way to do that. Maybe he should sneak one of these informationals into a gift bag when people purchase. At the very least he needs to stop asking how people burn their candles, then judgmentally telling them that's the wrong way to burn candles, then giving them a flyer on how to do it right. However he did have some rather small candles which he claimed burned for 14 hours or so which if true would be great quality. I did not buy due to the condescension so I cannot attest. Some of the product was very oily and he noted that they were not selling so he's been discounting them just to move product.

I think I must be allergic to candles and strong scents. Barbie likes them so she usually pops in while I wait outside. We came in late (due to the limited parking) so I missed the name of our instructor but she was friendly and knowledgeable. I believe it's about $55-60 per person and each person gets to make two 7oz candles. Personalized touches Include: scent choice and naming the candle. The scents here are great! It was fun exploring all the different notes and profiles. The class is about an hour and everything is provided. As a "student" you get to melt down your wax, smell/ pick your scents, mix scents, pour wax, mix the candle, add your wick, and label your candle. The process is really fast. The longest part is waiting for your candle to cool down/ dry. We were given an estimate between 3.5-4 hours. So plan your day around the area or come in the following day for pick up. Overall, we had a great time and I would recommend this to anyone who is interested. Perfect for solo date, girls night, date night, etc.

Today I decided to check this place out since I had some extra time. Iris Gifts is very much a boutique store. I was immediately greeted with a smile. I told the store associate I was just looking and we left it at that. I love not being bothered, so I am completely fine after the initial greeting/offer of help until I ask for help later. They have all the cute and festive items for the seasons, adorable clothes for children, fun jewelry, amazing candles and more! I enjoy browsing stores like this when I have some free time to get ideas for later when birthdays and/or special occasions arise. In this area of town, you will find several boutique shops, but this one is very convenient and there is plenty of parking available. Some of my favorite items are the El Arroyo collection, the fun cocktail napkins and the decorative styrofoam cups. On the higher end, they sell beautiful, lovely smelling candles (one brand in particular is $115.00 - I don't know anything about the brand, so I can't give feedback on the price - maybe it lights itself - Lol), pretty costume jewelry, home decor pieces and alluring bath items that function as both decorative and useful. I was surprised to see the reviews are not higher for this shop. It's cute, it's friendly and it is full! What's not to love?!
