Primavera (on left side) and tre colori pizza (on right side)
    Amanda C.

My friend and i came here because we were visiting reading for the first time and were craving pizza. The staff was kind enough to let us order pizzas with two flavors (as long as both were with sauce or without sauce) and we were excited to try the many flavors they had! My friend was vegetarian so all the pizzas we ordered were vegetarian. My favorite was the primavera because there were a lot of toppings that gave the pizza a delicious crunch and had it was a mouthful of taste. The tre colori was my friend's favorite and the pesto sauce was a nice touch that paired with the cheese. Unfortunately, our 2nd pizza was one we did not like as much. We wanted to be more adventurous and ordered the tartufata (black truffle) and quattro formagi pizza. But without the sauce, there was no acidic tomato sauce to balance out the flavor which made the black truffle/blue cheese flavors stand out very strongly. The tartufata is still a good choice for those that love truffle oil but it was just a bit too heavy and oily for my friend and i. We had the same issue with quattro formagi but i think the issue was more that we realized we just dont like blue cheese. Overall, this was a good experience! Staff was very friendly and helped answer any questions we had. We also sat on the outside patio which gave us a great view of the city and the sunset. Definitely would recommend as a good hangout spot with friends!

Had gotten many recommendations to try out this place! It was a lovely option for a casual Thursday night dinner. When we arrived, we were seated promptly with no wait. We had ordered two pizzas and one full order of wings to share among four people. They allowed us to split the flavors of the wings. I especially love the truffle pizza, which was flavorful and decadent.

Nonno was really good. It had that kind of dinner vibe but also felt like a fun hangout. The service was on point and our server was super friendly and kept checking in. Tuesday's are Build Your Own Burger night. For $14.99 you get a burger the way you want it plus limitless fries and unlimited refills. Such a good deal. The burger had great flavor and the fries were fresh and crispy. Nothing fancy just good food done right. Overall it is a spot I would go back to for sure especially on a Tuesday. 10/10 recommend.

Excellent service and delicious food. Ambiance was perfect. If you want to sit and enjoy great brick oven pizza. This is the place. Will be returning very soon.

Wood fired specialty pizza, wings, burgers and pasta dishes. One of my favorite places on the Avenue to eat and have one of their rotating brews. Friendly staff.

Great food! Their pizzas are one of a kind. Wings are a must try, especially the honey hot.

The triple smoke burger is one of the best around! The pizzas are always great no matter which one you choose.

Have great pizzas. Little on the pricey side but many businesses are having to deal with this. Got to love inflation. . . not

They make a great orange crush! Food is good, a tad expensive but I'd go to the establishment again.

Food is average or just above on a good day, so I can recommend if you are close and hungry you will probably be satisfied. But one thing that may have contributed to it's decline is employee satisfaction and appreciation. As I go into detail here. Had a really uncomfortable experience last visit. I thought we would try Mangia again but while we were eating we had to listen to the manager (?) berating one of the employees. Not only was it very negative but there was foul language as well. If you have something to address with an employee.. do it respectfully and privately. Not in front of coworkers, and especially not in the presence of customers. A pleasant dining experience is directly related to a pleasant low stress work environment. Disgruntled and stressed employees do not make for a positive experience for the customer. Service will suffer.

Service was excellent and ambience was terrific, especially because it was quiet since only one other table was occupied while we were there. This was my first visit to Mangia and I would certainly visit again.

Food is just a small…read morepercentage above local prices but it is only worth noting because the servings on some choices were not very generous. For example... Burrata Fritta is a generous sized and tasty fried cheese appetizer but, it only came with two small pieces of crustini so you'll end up eating most of it with a fork. Seared scallops tasted excellent as well but there was only 3 and they were the size of a 50 cent coin and about 3/8 of an inch thick. They were served over a generous bed of seasoned peas but, you are buying the scallops not the peas. Like I mentioned before, food tasted excellent there just could have been a little more thought out into appetizer creation. Entrees we selected were a just satisfying portion size and tasted excellent as well. We usually like to take home some of our main entrees for a later small meal but we ended up eating them both in restaurant. One thing important to note of importance to local diners is that entrees do not come with sides or salads. They must be ordered separately. Portions could have been maybe 8% to 10% bigger. I am not complaining but rather suggesting. I will definitely go back again to try some of the other entrees offered.

It had been about a year and a half since our last visit, and unfortunately, it seems like things have really gone downhill. We had a 7:30 reservation on a Saturday night and were surprised to find the restaurant nearly empty--maybe four occupied tables and a few people at the bar. Despite how quiet it was and the number of staff working, service was slow and inattentive from the start. When my husband asked for a beer list, our server simply said they didn't have one and that they had "a lager, a local pale ale, and something else." She didn't know the breweries or offer to find out. When our drinks arrived, I eventually had to ask her to remove the unused wine glasses from our small four-top since I was the only person drinking wine. We ordered a Caesar salad to share as a starter, which took an unusually long time to arrive and was delivered without plates. Throughout the meal, the open kitchen also seemed surprisingly chaotic. On three separate occasions we heard dishes or glassware being dropped and breaking. Unfortunately, the food wasn't what we remembered either. We ordered dishes we'd enjoyed on previous visits, but the quality was noticeably different. The pasta was gummy and tasted almost reheated rather than freshly made, and the sauces were heavy instead of the fresh, homemade sauces we remembered. Even little touches were missing, like offering freshly grated cheese with the Caesar salad or pasta. What made the experience particularly frustrating was that the restaurant wasn't busy and appeared to have plenty of staff, so there really wasn't an obvious reason for such poor service. Between the food quality, inattentive service, and prices, the experience simply wasn't worth what we paid. We used to really enjoy Vintner's Table, which makes this review disappointing to write. Based on this visit, though, we won't be returning anytime soon.
