This is the second time I have had a similar issue with Mama's Pizza on RT 61 not honoring their prices listed on the menu. On November 8, 2024 I placed an order by phone for a Family Sized Meat Lovers Calzone and a Personal Size Create Your Own Calzone (BBQ Chicken and Raw Onion). I cut out my coupon from the menu (coupon missing in picture) for the 2.00 off a Family Size Calzone. The coupons on the menu are clearly stated that they expire on 11/30/24 as you can see in the picture. With nothing else I can see on the front or back I would expect that this menu is valid until 11/30/24. It is clearly stated on the menu that a "Meat Lover Family Calzone" is listed at 21.99 and a "Create Your Own Calzone" is listed at 9.99. With my 2.00 off coupon on the familiy Calzone I was expecting the price to be just around 32.00. However the price they was charging me at the store was going to be 39.00. I didn't have my menu at the time and I had a conversation with the Owner who was working at the store at the time about the significant price difference. I was told that they would give me a 2.00 discount on the order and it would be around 37.00. I already had a 2.00 off coupon and it appears that was not being honored. I was told that their prices have recently changed and the menu they have in the store is what is in the computer. The owner would not honor the price so I refused the purchase and went home to get a copy of the menu I have from Mama's Pizza on Rt 61 to bring back to the store. I returned to the store about 15 mintues later and brought in my menu. I was recognized by the lady at the counter who quickly directed the attention to the owner. I spoke with the owner and asked if this is their menu. I had the menu turned with the prices facing him and he said "what is date on the coupons". I turned the menu around and showed him they are all dated "11/30/24". So this menu would be valid until 11/30/24. He said something as to "would you like me to show you "prices subject to change". I now wish I asked him to do this because I have revied this menu several times and do not see that listed anywhere on the menu. The owner had stated in my first time coming to pick up my order that prices only went up a small amount. From what I see they are now listing the items as Strombolis/Calzones with a single price but it is for a Stomboli. If you want a Calzone there is an upchage (I belive it is around 2.00 for a family and 1.00 for a personal). The gernal price of the Stromboil also increased depending on if you get a Personal Size or Family Size. So the small amount that the owner stated adds a significant amount to what shoud be honored since what I have is a valid menu. The owner stated the menu I have was mailed in September and I should have or would be receiving in the mail an new menu. Again the menu I have ordered from should be valid since the only thing listed on it that has a date are the coupons and it states there expire on 11/30/24 which was 22 days after I placed the order. As I was leaving I guess owner felt he had to get the last word in and stated loud enough with his hand up that it has been over two years since he has raised the prices. Pizza is good, but outside of that this place is a massive overpriced disappointment to say the least. I got cannolis that were smaller than the length of two quarters that were burnt and had next to zero filling in them. Their wings they use a weird sauce for garlic parmesean rather than using actual garlic and actual parmesean like every other place. Those were also tiny. We attended an outside church event at LCBC and we had not ate dinner. Called this place for the first time. They accomaded my wife since she does not eat meat or cheese. The vegetable pizza they made my wife could not stop talking about how good it was. I had the calzone lucky for me I did not order anything bigger then the one I had. I really enjoyed the flavor of the calzone. This place is highly recommended for the promptness and quality of food. Sorry we ate the food so fast and forgot to take a photo. read more

In the past, Mama's would have received 5 stars until now! Over the past few months, they messed up at least 5 of our orders even giving one family member a spaghetti meal when it should have been baked ziti! Just two nights ago, I called at 7:30 and was told a pizza would take 45 mins for delivery. At 8:30, an hour later, I called Mama's to inquire about our order. A woman answered, "we're closed"! I asked about our order and noted an hour had already passed and that my kiddos go to bed now. Her disinterested response was YEAH, It's on its way! The order was delivered at 8:45! Not only was the delivery a 1/2 hour late, the customer service regarding this issue was absolutely awful! read more

Moved away fromReading 10 years ago and back in town for family event. Tried several places in Berks county and then my son told me that Mama's was still open and where to find it (used to be in Wyomissing). Absolutely made my trip! Finally, some real pizza from people who know how to make it. Mama's has a great variety of Italian/American foods and their ingredients are very good quality. I had my old favorite: two slices of Sicilian with pepperoni on board. The first Sicilian pizza I've had in 10 years; it was totally worth the wait. I'm not actually sure if the place warrants a five star review; it is kind of a hole in the wall place but with very good food. The atmosphere is not amazing, with a loud stereo and TV sets all over, but the place is clean, the service is friendly and warm and the food is tasty and excellent. Current rating is just three stars, which is too low for this place, so I gave it five stars. Try this place when you're in the mood for a family friendly, inexpensive place with good food. Their professionalism is horrible. I called in an order, they claimed they didn't have it. Made me think I called another location. As I was walking out I called the # in my call log, the same girl picked up. I walked back in and confirmed that's the # I called, and I spoke to the gentleman standing next to her. He denied everything, told me I'm lying, he never took my order..we'll what do you know, he took it and put it under someone else's name. I've given this location time and time again and their attitude and customer service is just nasty. I'll continue to use the locations, their $8.99 pizza coupon is always a win! read more

We have just started going to Mamas for pizza delivery. Tonight I bought dinner and they had forgotten a few items no big deal, but I ordered my daughter wings butter garlic, when they were delivered they were In Hot sauce with butter garlic on the side when I called about the missing items and wings I was told I ordered them wrong and it was unfortunate my daughter didn't have anything to eat. They did reimburse for the missing items, but insinuated that I should have known to order correctly. I am disappointed with everything in general with dinner tonight especially since we spent 100.00, but I am not sure we will be going back. pre ordered delivery at 330 for 545 drop off. When it got to 635 I called, they told me they were behind but had no way to get a hold of online delivery customers (why do you enter your phone number & email then ) but assured me my food had left. At 650 it still hadn't arrived and we called again, again being reassured our food was on the way. At 710 the delivery driver texted me saying he was running late but almost there (but I thought they didn't have contact info for online orders). At 720 put food arrived. 1.5 hours late. I emailed the next day about the terrible experience with no response (more than 2 weeks ago). They clearly do not care about their customers or customer service. read more

Won't be back after waiting an hour and a half for a pizza only to have the delivery guy come root through his trunk and leave never delivering a pizza call to find out what's going on and was told it would be another hour for my pizza asked to talk to a manager and was told if I didn't like it she'd cancel my order. I don't usually post negative comments, but the complete absence of customer service and borderline accusatory attitude experienced today compelled me to make an exception. We order frequently from Mama's Pizza and Grill Route 61, 4425 Pottsville Pike Reading, PA 19605. Today we ordered a pizza with pepperoni and banana peppers and a veggie wrap with raw vegetables, no mayo, dressing or cheese. Simple right? The girl taking the order even repeated back the order and verified that we didn't want any mayo or dressing. About 45 minutes later our delivery arrives. The pizza was correct, but for the 2nd time in 3 weeks, the wrap was not as ordered. The vegetables were cooked and the wrap included cheese!! We let the 1st instance slide since the veggies were raw and we were able to remove the cheese; salvaging the wrap. This time the cheese was melted into the cooked veggies. My wife contacted Mama's explaining their error; initially speaking to the same girl who took the order. She quickly brought another "lady" to the phone who then proceeded to tell my wife that "there is no cheese on that wrap". Really; then how is it that I am physically pulling melted cheese out of the wrap? The "lady" then states "The counter person is not the cook. You need to explain it to them when you want something special." I did explain my wife replied... She even repeated it back to me. "Well, you should have said uncooked vegetables, not raw". Unbelievable! Now the customer is responsible for the counter person not understanding raw is the same thing as uncooked... Really? My wife explained that the last time we let it slide, but this time she would like a replacement wrap delivered quickly. The "lady" replies "We're really busy right now and I don't know how fast we're going to able to get to that". Wow! You completely screw up an order, accuse the customer of not ordering correctly and now you have no intention of expediting a replacement order??!! At that point I decided to drive the incorrect order back to Mama's for a refund. We had no intention of trusting anything else coming from that kitchen. When I arrived, I requested to speak to the person in charge. The counter girl calls to "Tia" who I find is the same "lady" that accused my wife of ordering incorrectly. She stands by her position that the counter person is not the cook and special orders need to be explained clearly. I repeated the fact that the counter girl repeated back my wife's original order. She just waved her hands in the air, apologized and refunded the cost of the wrap. Needless to say, we have no intention of patronizing an establishment that places no value in their customer's concerns or how they treat them when problems do arise. read more

I always order pizza from Mama's and usually have a good experience. Today, I ordered 3 pizzas online at 3:49 pm with an estimated delivery time of 4:43 however it was at my door by 4:12. The dough and pizza were completely underdone to the point that I had to put the hot pizza into the oven to finish cooking it. This basically defeats the purpose of ordering out. I'd rather the pizza arrive cooked and at the estimated delivery time, than how it arrived today. Legit waste of money and time. read more

Very disappointed. I ordered my family's dinner at 6:58, delivery was scheduled for 7:58. At 8:20, I called to see where my food was, I was told that the order was missed. They would make it and be right out. We received dinner at 9:00. The fries were cold, the mamas fries were ice cold, and the chicken stripes were over cooked could not eat them. This Mama's Pizza may be a little smaller than the other two stores, but it certainly gets my 5 stars! Every time I go there to grab food the staff is always nice and welcoming, especially the girl that is always working on the grill. She is one of the managers and always makes sure the store's service is spot on. The cashiers are always smiling and friendly. And the food?? AMAZING! They can make any type of pizza you want and are more than willing to make you something special. The pizza is always cooked just right, with the perfect amount of toppings. Their cheesesteaks are delicious too. If you like sauce and fried onions on yours, just be sure to ask for them. They don't come with the sandwich but are no charge to add! I've never had a problem with this pizza shop and have been a loyal customer there since they opened in 2013. Gave this place two chances already. The first time there was a language barrier when ordering and I was placed on hold. I hung up and decided to order elsewhere. The second time I experienced horrible customer service. Ordered pizza for delivery and waited an hour after being told it would be 30-35 mins. Called and was told that the pizza was ready but the driver hasn't left yet. We decided to pick the pizza up and it was cold and didn't taste fresh at all.
