I was referred to Noob through my wedding planner. And after looking at reviews, we gave them a chance. I'd have to say that I was really really disappointed with Noob's DJ. We are from the Bay Area California and we had a destination wedding in Oahu. We met with Ryan 4 days before the wedding and I was pretty thorough and organized with which songs, artists, and genres to play throughout the wedding... I even provided links to songs if it was a cover or specific instrumental, given 2 weeks in advance. He had our list in hand and made it seem like it would be easy to get all of the songs for us. However on the day of, the music didn't go as planned. Minutes before the ceremony I went over the songs with Ryan. One of the songs he couldn't download but had another version of it that I approved. Also, I specifically told him about a part that I wanted to be removed because it was a cover of a song from YouTube and the person spoke at the end of the video. He understood what needed to be cut out but unfortunately it still played during the ceremony when the flower girl was walking down and everyone noticed that part and told us they thought they heard an advertisement. So then comes the introduction of the bridal party... I specifically wrote down 3 Bruno mars songs for my bridal party to come out to, but he chose only ONE of those songs and the instrumental of it for the rest of the party... this song was also the slowest song out of the three. So their entrances weren't as exciting as it should've been. For our grand entrance, we chose a specific song because my husband wanted to rap along to a certain part and I would sing along to another part as we came out... Sadly, it turned out to be a totally different person & words to the song... we tried playing it off.. but everyone noticed it and it wasn't such a grand entrance :( When I told ryan he had played the wrong song, his excuse was he had never heard of that song before. Then he showed me the downloaded song which had the correct artists names and title but I assume he didn't play and listen to the song itself. I wish we would've reviewed all of the songs ahead of time or was notified that he had never heard of a song before. I could've easily given my phone to play the song. Throughout the reception, he did play the correct songs for most of the activities. However, there were multiple times when the transitions of songs was horrible. There were times he had two songs playing at the same time and not in sync. And other times he played part of a song over and over and we looked pretty confused. We also noticed that he kept playing "American woman" when someone was going to give a speech... which was not specifically on my list. Lastly, for the open dancing... my husband eventually had to go up and pull up his YouTube playlist because he noticed the dj downloading songs at the same time and he just wasn't playing songs we wanted to hear at the time. Overall, I felt like we had a successful wedding but our DJ could have been more prepared. I'm not sure I would recommend their DJ for those who are doing a destination wedding. But for future bookings, I would recommend they meet early enough with the dj and have the songs downloaded and ready to be reviewed with the bride and groom, as well as, any issues to be resolved ahead of time instead of minutes before the wedding. Within the little amount of time we had to plan everything the day of our wedding they came as if we had been planning for years. We hired them for the DJ, photo booth AND lighting. From the dazzling and unique monogram to the beautiful dancing on the clouds, everything was awesome. The dancing on the clouds was actually not apart of our budget but Ryan and Kookie were generous enough to provide it for us anyway. And honestly it was the best thing for our first dance as Husband and Wife. We even had some issues with sound for our ceremony and Ryan was there to help without hesitation. Due to weather conditions that day our ceremony had to be moved from the outside to inside. Ryan was our DJ and Juju was our emcee while Kookie did all of the coordinating prior to the wedding date. All 3 of these individuals were absolutely incredible. Kookie was very informative and friendly, while Ryan was helpful in guiding me through his creative process. He told me everything he likes to do and planned to do to keep the wedding alive and he did not disappoint. Juju is a beast. He really hyped the party up and even performed some of his music for us and danced with us. He is also super funny and very kind. All of our guests are STILL talking about Ryan and Juju and it's been 2 weeks after the wedding. This was a surprise to me but they also brought in their own videographer who created the most beautiful wedding video snippet that totally made me cry. Not only did they keep the party going until midnight for us, but they were truly able to accommodate our very diverse group. Thank you very much to Ryan and his team for throwing us an awesome wedding party. Noob Entertainment was one of few entertainment company that was recommended to us for our wedding by our planner. We had a phone interview with them and we felt most comfortable with Ryan so we set out a second interview and when we requested an in-person meeting, Ryan was very accommodating on time and location since we didn't reside on the island. Ryan listened to our needs and took many notes to ensure that it is achieve the day of the wedding. Ryan and his Noob team set up our music for our wedding ceremony, reception and our party. Ryan and his team executed beautifully for all of our small requested down to the second of the song that we want him to queue. During the party, Ryan and his team got the party started and kept the guests on their feet with music and games that everyone was into. Besides the music and dancing, Noob also provided us with a photo booth with my wife's specific back drop and all the photos came out excellently. I wasn't going to write a review because i didn't find it necessary to make this a public issue, however since our wedding, one month ago, it has become increasingly embarrassing for myself and my husband when our family/ friends talk to us about our wedding. Everyone has mentioned how beautiful and perfect everything was, except for the many things they noticed throughout the wedding that Noob messed up. I am saddened that even a month later, this is what people remember about our day (we had dinner with friends last night for the first time since the wedding and Noob was a talking point for them). You only get one shot at a wedding, there are no re-dos, so you hire people hoping they can get it right after countless emails and meetings. Here's what happened: Ryan showed up to first meeting at Ward Starbucks saying he was hung over and had been up all night. - unprofessional way to start. Second meeting w/ Ryan at Starbucks in Aiea, he barely took any notes & scribbled a layout. We were concerned that he would not be able to remember any of what we just talked about. Tried to push things on us such as his party bus, seat covers, multiple games- saying he's never done these games before and expressing it would be great advertisement for his business. Ryan said he would be able to provide ample lighting for both the tent and the pavilion. He didn't have enough lights for the pavilion after using the majority of his lighting in the tent. The strobe light was not enjoyable and the spot light was very unpleasant. There was no lighting on the ppl who gave speeches. One of the bridesmaids couldn't read her well-written speech because of the lack of lighting and had to wing it.  Ryan apparently did not inform the DJ (lance?) that there was a 3 person band, and that the band would need to hook up to their equipment. Caused a delay to programming. Did a mic check before ceremony and it worked fine. During ceremony, mic didn't work.  During ceremony, 2 songs would play over each other, multiple times. Introduction of wedding party into the pavilion: Delayed introduction because it apparently took more time than expected to set up. Music started playing, then it stopped while wedding party walked in. We walked in and the fast music stopped. The first dance song immediately began to play. We were not expecting that and i had to search for someone to hold my bouquet.  DJ reportedly unplugged tent lights to plug in their equipment and didn't find another place to plug in the tent lights, causing a delay in programming when sunset photos were supposed to be taken and Grandpa was supposed to say the prayer. Mic did not get grandpa until much later, guests were confused by the lag time. Ryan arrived at ~7:30pm, which is what he told us at the second meeting- the week of the wedding. This was not great to hear, as we've only been in communication with Ryan, and not other staff members of his team. We hoped that despite his lack of note taking, that he would be able to pass on all of our information to his team. During the dancing portion of the night guests reminded us days after the wedding that songs would cut out. There would be long pauses between songs. It's a bummer that guests recalled that. isn't this why you hire a dj and not an ipod? Ryan said his guy would be able to announce the family and bridal party speeches, the garter toss, and the bouquet toss. The order we wanted the speeches to be in was groom's parents, bridal party, bride's parents. Instead, groom's parents were not called, the bridal party went first, followed by brides parents. Groom's parents never got to address us or the guests. Lance (?) went immediately into the bouquet toss, which went as it should. He found a way to gather the single ladies behind me. For the garter toss, he didn't gather any of the guys. When my husband went to get the garter, he had no one to toss it to. The awkwardness of that moment is captured in our wedding highlight video. There were a handful of children behind the DJ area- perhaps the DJs children? They were not children who had been invited to the wedding, and it became quite a distraction. Guests reported thinking that the DJ was teaching children how to be the DJ- maybe a joke because of the music cutting out?  Overall theme from guests was that the DJ was a huge disappointment. He did not do what he said he would do. The things he did end up doing were not at all up to our standards or expectations, which were based on his explanations of what he would be doing for our wedding. A true let down and we cannot get a do-over. We encouraged him to speak to our two wedding planners, and he did. He offered to speak to us again, too, but it was like beating a dead horse. We wanted to move on. It's just sad we keep getting reminded of all the mess ups :( read more

I am a Very picky person and was probably a horrible bridezilla lol I literally emailed Ryan a song list of 120 songs that I wanted played at my wedding! And he said No Problem! He'll handle it. He just wanted me to relax, not stress and have a good day. When halfway through the wedding and most everyone had left and the groom wanted him to toss the playlist I had emailed and play hip hop you know what Ryan said? He said I got you and began playing hip hop for my groom to enjoy. Ryan communicates promptly, as soon as you email, call and/or text he responds Right Away, like immediately. He is awesome. Also let me mention the fact that we hired Ryan Literally 4 days before our wedding!! And he Still pulled through amazingly and perfectly. That's unheard of. I will say it would have been nowhere near as amazing if we had not booked with NooB entertainment. They kept the party going for hours and played exactly the music we wanted. We first hired NooB Entertainment because they had worked with people that we knew, and we saw their pricing as not too expensive. However, after working with them we were slightly unsatisfied. The service was fairly nice and easy to work with, but the details were very confusing. In addition, we sent music and song suggestions to the company, but the music that was played was almost completely ignorant to our requests. We were not the only group to experience this type of problem. We have another event coming up, but we will most likely not be choosing to work with NooB again. On that note though, we are very thankful for NooB's flexibility. We are just not happy with their actual performance the night of the event. In addition, we specified in our contract that we did not want an Emcee or "hype man" as some people call it, but once came. We did not like how he ran the crowd, and many people complained. I found these guys at the Wedding Expo and their prices were just unbeatable. Because I saw them at the expo I got a discount and ended up only paying about $300 (plus two meals) for 3 hours of unlimited photo booth prints, and we got a jump drive of all the pictures taken. Kookie was great, we met long before the wedding and then texted and emailed leading up to the wedding as she created our photobooth frame. She made it really fit in with the style of the invites and theme. The only snag (and why I would give a half star deduction if Yelp did those) was that they weren't very clear of their set-up needs, and the Wednesday before my Friday wedding they emailed and asked if it was okay that they would be blocking tables 8 and 9...ummm no! I panicked, and was probably pretty bitchy to them - but in the end they got it all worked out with the venue, and were able to change where they set up, and I didn't have to worry. Their setup is big! They have a great backdrop, and a table full of high quality props. I still can't believe how much bang we got for our buck. I met Ryan through a friend 1 week into planning our wedding and he was really friendly and very accomodating. I can say so much about our awesome experience with Ryan and NB Entertainment but I'll just keep it short and simple. We saw an unbeatable package which knocked off a lot off our "wedding to do list" (Dj, emcee, uplights, dancing on clouds, social media booth, photo booth, and custom monogram) which saved us on money and time. Our first meet with DJ Ryan and our Emcee (Kooldip), they gave us a lot of suggestions and recommendations given their many experiences in weddings and I'm very glad we took their advice it helped us a lot in our programming for the reception. The uplights and custom monogram was oh soooo beautiful my favorite). The dancing on clouds was also very beautiful but I don't like attention so we bowed before the audience before our first dance song was over (sorry Ryan). Overall, everything turned out BEAUTIFUL! I'd definitely use NoobEntertainment again if ever needed. Because Ryan was our first Vendor that we met, he was kind enough to refer us to a lot of other vendors who gave us discounts through him.
