TL;DR/The Short Version: Simple eatery in Chinatown. Very efficient service. Tasty food. Cash only. The Long Version: My husband and I had dinner here and it was great. We got the deep fried pork wontons ($5), crispy shrimps ($17.95) and house noodles with beef ($15.95). The fried wontons were really crispy. The wonton wrappers were all blistery. My only complaint is that the amount of ground pork in each wonton was very little, but I guess considering the price, I guess it's to be expected. Luckily the house noodles with beef had a good amount of beef in it. The beef was lean and tender. The noodles were a good texture and there was also broccoli, Bok Choy, onions, cabbage and carrots in it. This was my favourite of the 3 dishes we had. The shrimps were tasty too, but I felt less bang for our buck since the portion was small. The shrimps were crispy and there was diced onions and bell peppers mixed in. There were chili flakes too, so it was a bit spicy. Service was really efficient. Our food came out in record time. They also gave us 2 refillable bottles of water and as soon as we emptied one, they swapped it out for a full one. As soon as we finished a dish, they removed the empty dish from the table. Walked in today for a fast lunch and that is exactly what we got! We were a table of two, sat immediately with water and our order taken in under 3 minutes. The place is very clean and the layout is nice and efficient. The two waiters who served us were extremely kind and attentive, constantly checking to make sure we have everything we need and taking away any trash or empty plates. I even dropped my chopsticks on the floor by accident and the waiter was there in a flash taking the dirty ones and giving me new ones. Food is very affordable, perfect for students or people on a budget. We ordered two main dishes and a soft drink and only paid $25 CAD. It came out very quickly and we were able to be in and out in under 30 minutes. The waiter told us at the end it was cash only, so my partner left to go to the ATM and the waiter even told us I could go too if I wanted, but I did not want to leave and have them think we would not come back to pay. Very sweet and trusting. Having worked in the service industry, this place is exceptional not only because of their attentiveness but also the food. First of all, it is important to know that they only take cash. Now onto the problematic stuff: 1. The water cups smelled like a dirty wash cloth... 2. The food came extremely fast. However, the food was all clearly microwaved. Nothing was fresh, everything was made beforehand. While they may make their own noodles, they do not hand throw the noodles like some places I have seen. I had the Shrimp stir fried noodles and an order of the the shrimp dumplings. The shrimp noodles were good, soft noodles stirred with a good portion of shrimp and baby bok choy; the noodles were a bit soft and the dish could have been seasoned a bit more. The dumplings were very good, with great flavor and an excellent texture to the dumpling wrapper. Service was good and the food came up extremely fast; Noodle Factory provides good food in big portions at a reasonable price. Noodle Factory was delicious; I went there with family on the first day of our stay at Montreal and it was a hit! We ordered two types of dumplings--Har Kao steamed shrimp dumplings, which were soft and delicious, and pan fried pork dumplings, which had a tasty tender meat filling. (They also came with a great sauce!) We also had two noodle dishes--the first, stir-fried handmade noodles with vegetables, was delicious! They were very soft, and the vegetables were also great. There was a perfect amount of sauce in the dish, which we noted as restaurant noodle dishes often have too much sauce. The stir-fried rice noodles with beef were also good; my mom said they reminded her of noodles from Malaysia. The onions were a bit raw, but the dish was still quite good. If you're only getting one noodle dish, though, I would recommend the handmade noodles. While they don't accept card payments, they did accept USD (although at a 1.1 USD to CAD exchange rate rather than the going 1.3). Even with this higher rate, the prices were very reasonable, and we walked away feeling like we had had a filling, tasty meal at a good price. The Spicy Pork with Noodles consists of thin noodles, a dark sauce made of minced pork and a handful of julienned cucumbers. Looks can be deceiving as the cucumbers look fresh and cold and the dark sauce look very salty. Surprise!!! You mix it up and when you eat it, it tastes like the Chinese adaptation of a hardy American spaghetti with thick meat sauce. The bowl serving is large and you get tons of food for your $$$. Other items such as the dim sum and flat noodles are made fresh and decent tasting. The owner was polite and the dining area clean. 3.5 stars. read more

This was my second time eating at the Noodle Factory and this experience was no different than my first, the variety, quality, flavors, consistency and authenticity are all there, plus the waiter/owner was extraordinarily gracious and quite helpful pointing out the nuances of their menu. There are a number of fresh Asian greens that can be ordered as well to accompany your meal but the stars of the show are the hand pulled noodles or the Shanghai noodles served dry with vegetables or souped if you prefer.
