This place is fantastic! Homemade noodles and dumplings. You really can't go wrong here. I live in Calgary, and every time I come to Edmonton, this is a must-eat stop for me. I've tried three different items so far, and everything has been amazing. The only downside is their hours. They don't really offer a full dinner service since they close early. Why have I not review this place already!? We went here for the second time recently and I had the spinach noodles for the first time. Amazing color and even better taste. I ordered the Spinach noodles with egg and tomato sauce and minced pork. The egg and tomato sauce adds a layer of flavor and a saucy wetness that really elevates the dish. By the time I was half way through and the elements were really getting all mixed up, it was reminding me of the best kind of bolognese. Texture was perfect. If you're a noodle lover, this is a must visit! We ordered a side of their dumplings, the rolling noodles in special sour and spicy soup and their hand pulled noodles with minced pork sauce. The dumplings were nice and plump, and the skin was not too thick. When it comes to the noodles, the noodles are not only bouncy but the whole entire dish is quite flavorful. Whether you're a soup noodle lover or more of a dry noodle lover, there is an option for everyone. The portions are quite big too. With the dumplings and the two bowl of noodles, we shared it between 4 people and left quite full. When it comes to the service, it is alright. Ambiance is okay too with minimal decorations. Noodle Feast is one of the few restaurants in Edmonton that offers authentic northern Chinese noodle dishes. However, I'd only rate them 8.3/10 since their portions got a lot smaller over the years. That being said, I still recommend exploring the different types of noodles they offer. Just stumbled across this place while driving around the strip mall. We ordered the knife cut noodles with chili oil and scallions and that was delicious!!! Lots of wok taste, noodles were chewy but I was a little sad that the hot oil on the table wasn't any spicier especially given it was a northern Chinese restaurant. The dumplings (pork and chive) were ok- good flavour but the pork was on the leaner side and not as much filling as I'd expect given how large the dumplings looked. The service was efficient and quick and the restaurant setting was basic but clean. The screens with the menu items were helpful to us actually! read more

Best food I had during my time in Edmonton! I ordered online and came to pick up my food 20 minutes after they opened and the restaurant was already packed! The noodles are so fresh and flavorful. I can tell the noodles are handmade. The spinach noodles don't have a strong spinach flavor but I love them. I got them "less spicy" but they weren't spicy at all to me so I might try "spicy" when I'm back in the area. I paid an additional $3 on top of the $14.99 for the rolling noodles dish to get extra veggies which is worth it to get some extra bok choy in the dish! The only possible con is the noodle dishes are a tad salty for my taste and by the time I got halfway through the dish my mouth was pretty salty...but drink some water or tea with it and it balances out pretty decently. Whenever a friend ask for a recommendation in Edmonton! Noodle feast is the first to come to mind. Every time I'm in town I make an effort to come here. Restaurant is always busy. Wish they had more seating and longer hours but it's still worth the wait for me. I prefer sliced noodles over rolled noodles because it picks up on the sauce and meat better. Don't forget to try the chilli oil and vinegar with this dish. 113 is my go to order and that's exactly what I tell my friends to get. You get a big hearty filled bowl of noodles, I can never finish it all but i love having leftovers from here. Also try the dumplings, they have a good punch of juicy flavour and meat stuffed inside. Helloooooooooo Noodle Feast, it's been too long. Okay, that might be stretching the truth. I've been here easily over half a dozen times since my first time writing about them (see here). Not much has changed other than some new flooring. Everything else is same same and that's a good thing. We came on a Wednesday evening and it was busy. Full of Asians getting their slurp on. Luckily, we only had to wait a couple minutes to snag a table for 4. Menu is essentially the same but with a few dishes that have gone up in prices. Still nothing higher than $15.00 so you can't really complain. If you've never been, it's broken into three noodle groups: sliced noodles, rolling noodles and hand pulled noodles. Okay, there's also a fourth group: fried, rice, pancake and more. Don't actually forget about this section because there's a couple gems. Hand pulled is a MUST but they tend to sell out. Hand pulled noodles were crossed out this time. Nooooooooooo. Get here early to avoid disappointment. Oh well, this meant we were forced to try some new dishes! Hours still blow my mind: closed Monday and Tuesday and only open till 8:30pm! WTF. Been craving noodles, so decided to check out this place. Wasn't sure what to expect as the decor was simple and plain. But there appeared to be a lot of people there, and it was only 6pm, so it must be good for right? The menu is pretty simple. You have 3 types of noodles to choose from: sliced, rolling, or hand pulled. I ordered the sliced noodles with egg, tomato, minced pork, and hot chili oil. My husband ordered the beef soup with sliced noodles. Also had to try the pork and chive dumplings. The dumplings were amazing! The noodles I had were really good, but think there was too much oil and not enough spice. The noodle soup broth was very tasty and the beef was so tender! The noodles were thick and filling. I was pleasantly surprised to see that Noodle Feast was open again after being closed for many months during COVID. I ordered pork and chive dumplings and hand-pulled noodles with egg and tomato. Very generous portions- an order of noodles is definitely enough for a meal and maybe even a meal and a snack. The dumplings are very plump and full of meat- the wrapper is thicker- but not too thick and has a nice chew to it. I like mine dipped in red or black vinegar. The tomato and egg hand pulled noodles come as wide, thin noodles with a nice springy chew. The tomato sauce is nicely seasoned and the dish also has a few pieces of Bok Choy to dress it up. Guys when you come here... be aware, your noodle soup doesn't have any protein content... it's just noodle and soup! So make sure you order dumplings or some sort of pork bun... the meal is decent and the broth is fresh. The value isn't there though... $11 for soup and noodles. Thats pretty pricey. The wait time here is ridiculous. If you're looking for a quick sit-and-go meal. Go somewhere else. My complaint is long wait time and expensive value. I have been twice now, once to see what the hype was about, and once to show my wife what the hype was about. Menu looks big, but it's actually only a few variations of 4 or 5 items mixed in the sauce and what type of the 3 noodle choices you want. Essentially, each item on the noodle menu has one or all of the following: soup, broth, tomatoes, pork, egg, hot chili oil. You want just tomato and pork? There is an option for that. You want tomato pork and hot chilli oil? There is an option for that. The easiest decision is the noodle type. Hand pulled. They sell out quickly, so if they have it, get it. They also have tings like fried rice for those that don't want noodles. Both times I went I ordered the hand pulled noodles with egg, tomato and pork sauce with chili oil. Was absolutely delicious, in a way, it was kind of had what I'd imagine to be a Chinese lasagna flavour. Portion sizes are big, so don't be afraid to share. My wife and I also shared the chive and pork dumplings, you get 12 in an order so it's an awful lot to tackle solo, but they are also very good. The place fills up quickly, especially on a Sunday after opening, so don't be surprised if you have to wait, but it is worth it. read more

Then she explained to me. You have an American credit card. Nobody comes to Edmonton for vacation. We actually arrived past the lunch rush. But, the restaurant was still kind of full. We were seated immediately. They offer hand pulled noodles, sliced or knife cut noodles and rolling noodles, northern or Mandarin style noodles. We ordered the beef stew noodle soup and the tomato, egg and chili noodles. The tomato, egg and chili noodles was easily the better of the two. The noodles had a good texture to it. The flavor was good. Both my wife and daughter kept asking for more. The beef stew noodle soup was okay. I've had better in my hometown. I'm not saying it is bad. My family and i can't seem to stop coming back to noodle feast! They have plenty of parking and not to mention fresh dumplings, and hand pulled noodles. All my favorites! I have tried a variation of the hand pulled noodles. I recommend the minced pork hand pulled noodles as you can add as much hot chili oil as you want. You absolutely have to get an order of the pork and chive dumplings and make sure you share with friends because it's 14 pieces! If you're a meat and noodle person, this is definitely the place to check out. The reason noodle feast doesn't get 5 stars from me is unfortunately because of the less than average service. While i enjoy the delicious fresh food they make, at times, i find it a bit frustrating to get service as it is often busy and seemingly only 1 or 2 servers are working. Noodle Feat didn't disappoint, but for me, it didn't live up to the hype either. I came here at the recommendation of a coworker who heard I was on Yelp and told me all the places I should go. This was at the top of his list. When I arrived, every table was full and their was a line up at the door. I had to wait just to get a single seat. I guess my coworker isn't the only person who likes it here. The menu is extensive and can be overwhelming. However, another reviewer pointed out that if you break it down it is a full list of combinations based on three styles of noodles, a few toppings and a few soup broths. They have a section of fried rice, dumplings and pancakes for good measure. If you keep that in mind, it's easier to order. As it's the Northern Chinese, the noodles are made from wheat flour. They are hearty. It ordered hand pulled noodles with minced pork sauce and chili oil. Although it took a while to get a seat, once I ordered it didn't take long. The noodles came out fresh and tasted good but not mind blowing like my coworker had described. Since then, I've had better minced pork at similar restaurants. I didn't try anything else this time but I'm not sure if I'll be back to try again. I got the feeling at the time that the full seats were driven by hype and a lack of similar restaurants. Since I've gone, other restaurants have opened in the city so I would rather go elsewhere for a similar meal without the long wait. Finally was able to get to Noodle Feast. Had tried previously and there were long queues of people waiting to get in. Walked right in on a Sunday evening. We were immediately greeted and directed to a table. Tea and bowls came right away, but the menu didn't come for a couple of minutes. Once we got the menu, there is more characters on the menu than there is english. So, went to the prior Yelp reviews with photos and started looking at the photos. Thank you Yelpers for posting the photos. Decided to order the #114 - Sliced noodles with beef (no soup) & #303 - Hand pulled noodles with minced pork. We had some confusion over ordering (all our own confusion), and the server was very patient with us. Once the order was in, the food came out within minutes. The Hand pulled noodle was very good, however we joked (sorta not really) that there was only a single noodle in the bowl... like about 15 feet of noodle, but we couldn't find the end of it. The Sliced noodles with beef had a bit more spice to it, but nothing over the top. I thought it was excellent. For both bowls there is an abundance of noodles in each. The inside of this place is nothing to look at. There are some obligatory Chinese art pieces on the wall, with florescent lighting. I'd rate the cleanliness of this place an average. There were still streaks on the table from the last patrons, and on the floor there was a Merry Christmas tag (its the 22 of Jan). Sorry Noodle Feast, I just can't do 5 stars when the place is a bit unkept. At end of meal, you go up to the counter to pay for the meal. Something that first-time visitors aren't necessarily aware of (like me). Overall food was really good, although you gotta want to have noodles. That is what they do here. So, on a whim, my boyfriend and I came here tonight (Sunday evening) around 6:00 pm to find the small restaurant full! Happily there was one table for 2 left that we were immediately directed to. I only know of what I read from other reviewers, but this restaurant serves up handmade noodles in its noodle-centric dishes. You are given a long white piece of paper (which turns out to be the entire menu) plus a pen. And based on the basic descriptions you are supposed to be able to decipher which dishes you'd like by marking them with a pen. No photos are provided nor any descriptors from the servers. Having never been here before, I thought it would be a great idea to check off one noodle item from each of the 3 different noodle types. I chose the hand pulled noodles with beef in a beef bone soup; the sliced noodles with minced pork, and to round out the noodle dishes, I ordered the rolled noodles with beef (no soup). Also, I decided to add on an order of the pork & chive dumplings (14 in total!!) plus an order of their popular Chinese bbq pork burger. Had I known how HUGE the portions were going to be, I never would've dared to order as many dishes as I had for the two of us. The servers never bothered to stop and describe any of the dishes for us nor warn us that we were probably ordering enough food for 5! But the service is another story. The food came out quickly, and before we knew it our small little table for two was filled with large bowl after large bowl and dish after dish of items we ordered. We had to laugh as the tables around us stared curiously at all the dishes we ordered! In any case, I only had enough room to try three of the dishes before I tapped out. All were pretty great! The minced pork with sliced noodles, the hand pulled noodles with beef in beef soup, and the pork & chive dumplings were yummy. I didn't have any room to attempt even a bite of the bbq pork burger, nor the last dish to arrive, the rolled noodles with beef. Needless to say, we ended packing up everything as we were unsuccessful at polishing off even one dish! Hahaha... Yay for leftovers I guess! (We'll see how they hold up in the next couple days) The service is pretty lacking. You are seated, given a menu and a bowl filled with your teacup & soup spoon; a pot of tea and 4 of the cheapest little napkins you see at like cafeterias. You have to shove the menu in one of the two attendant's faces as they won't willingly come back to see if you're done choosing. They drop off the food as it comes, but don't return to ask how it tastes or if anything else is needed. And when it comes to pack up leftovers, they just bring you the boxes (not the right ones I might add) and expect you to pack it all up yourself. But hey, it's a Chinese restaurant so those things are to be expected I guess. I grew up eating at Chinese restaurants but this place takes the cake for poor service. Thankfully the prices of the dishes more than make up for the service discrepancy. Noodle Feast: The Taste of Northern China has been open for three years. I know that over time, this blog has become an outlet for what's new and exciting in Edmonton but really, it's actually a space for me to write about what's excites me the most. Noodles. Noodles pull my heart (or stomach?) strings. Always have and always will! Located on the corner strip mall on 99th Street and 34th Avenue, Noodle Feast has quickly become one of my most favourite restaurants in Edmonton. Although the space has been open since 2013, it's only recently that I made the trip south to try their famous bowls of hand-pulled noodles, a specialty that very few can claim in this city. If I've learned anything over the last year about Noodle Feast's lunch time rush, it's that you need to show up 15 minutes before the hour. The eatery opens at noon for lunch, meaning you have to duke it out with the Chinese diners at 11:45am and get ready to bolt from your car as soon as you see somebody heading to the door. Come five or ten minutes past opening and you've got a solid half hour to hour wait in front of you. Joe and I have been victims many times now to the dreaded wait but, in all honesty, it's worth the wait. At 12:45pm, most of the tables for the first seating will be finishing up, freeing up space for those who patiently wait. It's a shame that Noodle Feast can't get rid of the three big round tables (which can seat up to 8 each) to make space for more 2-4 people tables. The menu might look intimidating to first-timers, a spread of different toppings to go with your noodle of choice: sliced, rolled, or hand-pulled. The hand pulled noodles (known as lamian in Chinese) is what Noodle Feast is known for. If it's your first time visiting, I'd highly recommend giving the thicker, wider noodle a try. Fun fact: my beloved Japanese noodle soup dish, ramen, is historically disputed to have come from the Chinese lamian! Working backwards on the menu, the rolling noodles are thinner and slightly narrower than your Italian fettuccine. The sliced noodles (knife-cut) are slightly thicker and wider than its rolled cousin, both viable options if you're not up for a carb coma from the hand-pulled noodles. Joe's favourite is #205 Rolling Noodle in Special Sour and Spicy Soup with Pork and Vegetables. More sour than spicy, this bowl is hands down their most popular menu item. I actually like the predominantly sour notes of the dish, something different from all other noodle soup dishes in Edmonton. To quote Joe: "They're eating #205. That table too. Everybody's eating #205. I'm ordering #205." He hasn't tried anything else on the menu. On my first visit, #312 Hand Pulled Noodles, Minced Pork Sauce and Hot Chili Oil nearly had me wishing I had more self control. I can tell you that my stomach had never been so full. The chili oil isn't overwhelmingly spicy, a good warmth and slighty numbing quality from Szechuan peppercorns. The minced pork sauce is a ragu style stir-fry poured over top of the thick (and long!) hand pulled noodles. Although considered a dry dish (no soup), the ragu mixes in with residual noodle water at the bottom of the bowl, making each strand perfectly coated once mixed. One time, I accidentally ordered #206. Spinach Rolling Noodles, Egg & Tomato Sauce, Minced Pork & Hot Chili Oil. You can imagine my surprise when all of a sudden my noodles were green. Available in limited quantities, I much preferred the thickness of the rolled noodles to the hand pulled noodles although I'm not sure if the spinach flavours were strong enough to come through. #207 Rolling Noodles, Beef and Beef Bone Broth was a nice change from my favourite ragu, a beautiful beef broth with tender braised beef. Something about this bowl's simplicity makes it There's a section on the Noodle Feast menu for other eats... you know, in case the full bowl of noodles wasn't enough for you! I know that a take-out box is always my companion out of Noodle Feast's doors so I have no qualms ordering the Chinese Chive and Pork Dumplings (14 pieces) to share. Love. The Chinese Pork Burger (or roujiamo, "meat burger") was soft on the inside, crisp and toasty on the outside and slightly messy with the drippings of pulled pork. A solid dish, although I'd prefer the pork to be better seasoned or better spiced to give it something to write home about. My final thoughts: Noodle Feast tugs on all the right strings for me. Bowls top out at $14.99, and portions are large. Service is basically non-existant, please come in expecting to get seated with hot tea and your basic utensils, served, and then left alone for the remainder of your meal. Pay up front when you're done and pack your own leftovers; this is the real deal Asian dining experience. Noodle Feast + me = HEART. read more

I came here because my husband has been repeatedly telling me about this great noodle place he's been lunching at with coworkers lately. It's easy to find parking along this stripmall, and I was curious with some people rushing inside once they parked. It was a weekday at 6pm and there was a small cluster of people waiting outside the door. There is a row of limited seating for the waiting area and the restaurant is pretty small. There is a TV, but it wasn't on. Washrooms are small, but incredibly clean and well kept for a Chinese restaurant. There's no change table, but they did a lot enough counter space for that. High chairs and booster seats are available too. If you come in a group, keep your headcount under 4 if you want to be seated faster. We came in a group of 7 and had to wait about 45min. for 1 of the 3 larger tables to open up while about 6 smaller parties who showed up after us were seated first. The good thing is that you can look at the menu while you wait or order takeout at the till if you're not interested in dining in. The menu is simple and is mainly 3 different noodle types with the same selections of add-ons (flavours). Sadly, they were sold out of the hand pulled noodles, so we got a few rolling noodle dishes and dumplings. Each flavour was distinct for each bowl, and everything we ate was delicious. Portion sizes were good, but also not enough to make leftovers...although we were incredibly full after. Service isn't very inviting, but at least they are easy to flag down if you need something. Separate tables and tables together available. We ordered 205 - Rolling Noodles in special sour & spicy soup with port & vegetables and 112 Sliced Noodles with minced pork sauce & hot chili oil. 205 is a large portion and more on the sour side though it looks spicy, I was expecting it to be spicier. This place is AMAZING! The noodles are made in-house, and the food is incredible. You know you've found a gem in an ethnic restaurant when you enter and nearly everybody in the restaurant is of that ethnicity... that is the case here. This is a really solid spot for genuine hand-pulled noodles. I particularly enjoyed the hand-pulled noodle with minced meat sauce, but the curry noodles with beef were a little over-oiled and had an almost gritty texture. The kids went crazy for the dumplings and fried rice. Definitely a spot to come back to. read more

You walk in to the restaurant with plain and simple decor. You place your order on the menu on the table. They bring out and it looks like it would be bland or not seasoned enough. But when you taste it, oh man!!! It was delicious! I had the hot and sour soup (#205) it tasted more sour (vinegar) than spicy, but it was really good! My husband had the sliced pork noodles (#115) I had a sample of it, and it was delicious as well. What an unsuspecting little restaurant!!! I'd definitely come back. read more

I loved the variation of the hand pulled noodles. I recommend the minced beef hand pulled noodles as you can add as much hot chili as you want. Eat an order of the pork and chive dumplings and make sure you share with friends because it's 14 pieces! If you're a meat and noodle person, this is definitely the place to eat out. read more

Usually get, well only get the hand pulled noodles here. While there are sliced noodles and rolling noodles, hand pulled is definitely the move. Hand pulled noodles with the egg & tomato sauce was surprisingly tasty even though it had no protein. The tomato and egg quality was shockingly high, and would probably suggest this dish to a vegetarian. Hand pulled Noodles with minced pork and chili oil is my fave. Presentation wise it looks like shit in a bowl, but it tastes very much not like shit. The chili oil, pork, green onions with the bok choy has such good flavor. Don't forget the noodles though, they are the main event here. These are noodles you just can't get at any Chinese restaurant, you got to get them here. NF is located on 34 ave and 99 st and is probably one of the best Chinese restaurants in the southside. You get a sheet to order off where you tick off the boxes, so service is relatively fast but not great. Like most Chinese restaurants, the water service here is close to non-existent. Noodle Feast is THE place in Edmonton for pulled noodles! The perfect amount of cheweyness.

Opened recently, the sign outside says Boss, Taste of Asia, while the receipts read Noodle Feast - A Taste of Northern China. I'm not sure of its name, but either way, it's a great place to eat. This little gem features dishes from northern China, so it's not your typical Chinese eatery in Edmonton. There is no sweet and sour pork, no lemon chicken, etc. China, like most places, has a wide variety of regional cuisine. In the south, like the area around Hong Kong, sweet tends to be more popular, as are rice dishes. In the north, where rice is difficult to grow, wheat noodles are more popular, and the flavours tend towards salty, not sweet. If you want handmade fresh noodles, then this is the place to go. They specialize in handmade noodles - if you come too late, you might be told that they are out of noodles and that you should come back in an hour or two after they have made some more! We had a a couple of great dishes here. The first was a bowl of shredded noodles in a beef broth that was rich and delicious. Unlike most watered down soups at other places, this one was flavourful and reminded me of a beef gravy because of its rich beef taste (though not in consistency - it was still a broth). The beef was also so tender that it just fell apart and melted in my mouth. The other main dish was a cold spicy salad that those familiar with Sichuan cooking will know - rice noodles, veggies and a spicy sauce that will knock your socks off. The heat starts off slow, but by the end, it's a raging inferno! Last but definitely not least was roujiamou (Chinese Pork burger on the menu), which is basically a Chinese hamburger. It's a small bun, similar to naan bread, stuffed with pork and flavoured with cilantro and other spices. I first had one in Chinatown in Toronto, then again in Xian, China. They can be messy, but are fantastic. This one wasn't quite as good as the ones I've had in China, but it was still very good. The bun was soft on the inside, toasted on the outside, and the pork was tender and flavourful. Frankly, I'm surprised more Chinese restaurants don't offer it. If you love Chinese cuisine, but aren't interested in sweet and sour pork or chicken balls, then try this place out. read more
