I hope you are in the car on your way to Noodles and Dumplings before you finish reading my review. We will be coming here so often we will need to add a line item in our monthly budget for noodles. The dining room is light and inviting. We were immediately greeted by a friendly host. The kitchen is partially open so on our way to our table, we saw one of the chefs pulling the noodles. (Very fun for kids and adults I might add!) For starters, we ordered some boba tea. Not sure how often the flavors rotate, but you will have to ask for their flavors of the day. They had mango, taro, and Thai tea when we came in. We had the mango with colorful boba (more similar to a jelly IMO) and taro with brown sugar boba. Both were delicious, not too sweet. Beverly took great care of us the moment we sat down! Being that it was our first visit, she guided us around the menu and gave us suggestions along the way. We wanted to try the Deep Sea but unfortunately they were out. However, per Beverly's suggestion we ordered the Shrimp Tempura and it was very good. The tempura was well seasoned and the fry was crispy but not dry. We also had the Cream Cheese Wontons, Panfried Colorful Dumplings Combo and Beef Roll. Personally, of the four dumpling fillings, beef was my favorite. All four starters are a good choice, but if you leave without trying the Beef Roll, you are doing yourself a disservice. My recommendation from best to still very good: Beef Roll Shrimp Tempura Panfried Colorful Dumplings Cream Cheese Wontons For our main dish (only had room for one after all our starters), we ordered the Black Garlic Oil Ramen with pork belly. This ramen bowl is massive. We barely made a dent in it and we thought they would have to roll us out of the restaurant. The pork belly was also nicely seared thicker cut; none of that thin and overcooked pork belly some ramen places use. I am afraid I will not be trying their other ramen bowl simply because I loved this one so much that I cannot imagine eating here and not getting this black garlic ramen. The custard bao caught our eye so we had to order it to go. (This was when we considered whether we should have ordered less starters. The thought was fleeting as we are looking forward to all the leftovers in the fridge.) I was nervous that the custard would be overwhelmingly sweet. (From October 2025) In the mood for noodles, YELP pulls this place up randomly and seeing the ratings, I placed a to-go order on their website for the stir-fried combo signapore noodles and the combo colorful pan-fried dumplings. About 25 minutes later, I get to the place and pick up the order and then get back to my hotel where I grub down. Both the dumplings and noodles are tasty good. The dumplings came in multiple colors with a nice crust on the bottom and packed with filling. I got caught off guard with the extra fried dough-residue attached to the dumplings but it didn't bother me. The order comes with 2 dumplings each of beef onion, pork scallion, chicken, and vegetable. The combo noodles has chicken, beef, and shrimp mixed in with onions and peppers and a soy-based sauce. IT's a hefty portion that gave me lunch for the next day. I'll have to try the noodle soups and other dumplings next time I'm here. Overall a solid asian eats spot in Lafayette. read more

Disappointed in service both times. First time forgot to even put our order in and the dumplings came after meal. The second time they messed up the order and remade it which kudos to them but again brought soup dumplings after entree with no offering of an apology or discount. Food was excellent both times though. All the soup bao are excellent but stick with chicken or pork. The crab is off tasting and not enough crab. The pork mushroom cold noodle was delicious and not cold so very misleading. The tonkatsu is flavored well just needs some heat but they definitely are generous with meat which was nice. Skip the chicken as it's just boiled chicken and not that flavorful. The beef is great and the pork is too fatty but still good. The fresh noodles are always a plus. The bad dish was fried noodles tastes like peanut sauce and just was not good. The mango tea is sweet but nice. All in all great stock flavors which is light years ahead of the other dumpling place in town. Not even close in comparison. read more

Absolutely the best ramen we've had anywhere in Louisiana. My wife had the colorful dumplings combo and they were all delicious. Everything is made in house and you can taste the difference. The portions are HUGE so 1 dish can feed a couple! The plates are very flat so messy for children. The coolest is the robot waitress! She needs a cool name! That was the highlight of the dinner! The sweet & sour chicken had barely any flavor at all and I personally didn't care for the dumplings texture but that's just me! The eggrolls are good. The general tso was tasty. I love Asian cuisine, so I really don't know how it took me so long to try this place. I regret the lost time because everything we tried was amazing. Super high quality, very fresh, and reasonably priced. Hands down, these are the best soup dumplings in Lafayette, and they might even top my former favorite from Las Vegas. I failed to take pictures because we were starving, but we tried the pork and chicken soup dumplings, wonton soup, eggrolls, chicken fried rice, chicken fried noodles, pork buns, and general tso chicken. Even the items ordered for the kids were exceptionally well executed and flavorful. The pickiest eaters agreed it was excellent. Our only complaints were about the table size and service. Our family of five was seated at a four-top with a chair at the end, so there wasn't enough room for the food ordered and the server didn't offer much in the way of help. They don't seem to have six-tops, which is odd. Secondly, the server took forever to take our drink order and while he was nice, he wasn't very attentive or engaged. Regardless, the food was outstanding and will Noodles & Dumplings is sure to become a new favorite. Let's hope they can break the curse of their location. read more

The black garlic oil Ramen was yummy huge portions with plenty of the pork belly, however the Mapo Tofu was definitely the star of the meal, with well developed flavors. We ordered take out one evening this Christmas time and with that in mind we always give a little on the expectation when it's take out. You know... you never get the kind of experience at home that you do in the restaurant. With that said, the only thing missing here was table service. This food was very good even via take out. The parking lot is tight, so go slowly through. It was a crowded night, but the front staff was nice and gave accurate wait times. I will say, they were better than the wait staff. Luckily we'd never been and were studying the menu, but even with that consideration, the person who was ultimately our waitress walked past three times before saying she'd be right with us. She only came back twice more unless called. Despite all that, the food was quite good! The pork and scallion bao was exceptional. I can't wait to go back and try other varieties. Idk what sauce was on the shrimp tempura, but I wanted to lick that plate clean. I will say, I wouldn't get the pan fried dumplings again, just basic. For main dishes, we had Mongolian chicken and beef and broccoli. Both were VERY meaty and had a good sauce, both were with noodles. I had a fried noodle dish with fried noodles. They were clearly handmade and had a good sauce, but it wasn't as meaty as the other dishes. We did try the custard bao for dessert. It's not like a custard donut, since it's deep fried with the custard in. Watch out, it's HOT. It wasn't bad, just not my taste. First off this is not my typical food taste pallet, if that makes sense... so this review is not for everyone. I LOVE japanese ramen so I got the Tonkotsu pork belly ramen from here to try and sadly this tastes nothing like japanese ramen. This tasted more like pho to me. It had a very mild herbal unseasoned beef broth flavor. Very earthy in taste not umami. The beef and scallion baos were ok but also lacking flavor. My husband got the fried noodles with sesame chicken. The noodles were ok and the chicken was ok. The kids chicken was very very dry and lacking flavor. Over all I feel like everything lacked flavor??? Disappointed. The pro is the food portions are HUGE so if you love this type of food, then you will be in heaven with the amount they give! This was our first time there and already can't wait to go back. The service and staff were all super friendly and super helpful. The food was absolutely fantastic and the portion sizes are huge! To start we got the Hongyu wontons.. and we could have eaten another 5 orders of them they were so good!! we then got the black garlic oil ramen with pork belly and not only was the serving size huge it was delicious, the broth was to die for!! it was also some of the best pork belly we had ever had. The restaurant itself is modern, clean, and beautifully decorated--such a welcoming atmosphere. The staff was friendly and attentive, which made the whole experience even better. We started with the cheese wontons (they were so good, we didn't even pause for photos!), then moved on to the cheese and beef bao, fried rice, and the colorful combo dumplings. We ordered $80 worth of takeout and it was NOT worth it! We ordered sweet-and-sour shrimp and lemon chicken and got plain chicken and plain shrimp with NO sauce! We ordered cream cheese wontons and they were rubbery and had no cream cheese in them. Very disappointing! I called them and they said I could come pick up the sauce but at that point , the food was cold and rubbery already and waiting another 30 minutes wasn't going to make it better with the sauce. They offered me a discount on our next order but there won't be a next time. So they gave me 20% off of the two meals that were missing the sauce but about $7 off didn't fix this meal. I like socks... I wear socks on a regular basis. One of the things I like the most about socks, is getting them knocked off by some amazing food. Tried Noodles and Dumplings tonight, and well... My socks are still firmly on and I'm laced up tight. And I'm even wearing Hey Dudes. (Not really, but it seemsd clever) To be clear, the food wasn't bad at all. It was good. But in a city that's currently undergoing some sort of Asian food restaurant Renaissance... They're gonna have to yank a little harder at the taste buds to get the hosiery moving. I mean, there is tough competition all around them in any direction you drive. And for a city this size to maintain all those Asian food choices, you got to pull off shoes at the door and tug at those socks with each bite. Not to mention this location has a history with some bad feng shui. The good stuff: - Menu has strong selections (similar to nearby competition , but strong). - Noodles are great - hand pulled and fresh. - Pork and scallion dumplings were good, and they have the beautiful fried lace that ties them together. That lace did loosen my laces a little. - The vibe is nice, a bit loud, but fun to look at. The stuff that left me fully socked: - Menu is a little hard to read and oddly organized. - LanZhou noodles (Spicy) were not, and bland. I love Szechuan food. Oil it up and hit me hard. - Chili oil on table wasn't hot, just salty. How does this even happen? - Waiter was admittedly busy... but forgot an entree, never offered refills. - Maybe the biggest thing that kept my tights tight was paying the bill. The waiter brings a tablet along with the bill to the table, then stands there waiting for you to review, swipe the tablet, and tip. (and y'all, in this economy... the tip suggestions start at 18% and go up. It's time the US catch up with the rest of the civilized world, pay servers WELL, and allow tips to be optional for terrific service. Ffs.) Felt a little pressured. Oh yeah, there's a robot waiter... But he didn't come to our table... Maybe he ran off with our entree. Well... I reckon this is the first review for the Lafayette location, and I sincerely wish it was a Fiver. They just opened a couple of weeks ago, and I understand it takes effort to get the wrinkles out... Or the sock seam out from under your toes. I'll be back. But next time, I'm wearing those knee high striped gym socks from the 80's. Y'all better hit me with the proverbial dodge ball in the mouth hole (like Robbie Gentry did to me in 6th grade) and send me flying head over Chuck Taylors into the bleachers. Very very good and rich food. This was my first time visiting and I opted for the black garlic ramen which I'm familiar with and it was soo good. Just right really. I recommend it for anyone who isn't too familiar with different ramens. It's pretty flavorful. They also give hugee portions so I had a meal for the next day as well and to say it was about $15 I'd definitely say it was more than worth it. I also got it with chicken though I feel beef or pork would probably hold the flavors in better. It was almost even better the next day because of how everything marinated together. Service was greatt and very very friendly , feel free to ask questions. Very cute place with a nice atmosphere, we truly enjoyed ourselves. All in all I'd give it a 8.7/10 try it out! We waited about ten minutes before we got our drink orders in and looked over the menu and order the scallion pancakes and cream cheese rangoons to start and kung pao chicken with fried rice and sweet and sour chicken with fried noodles as our entrees. Everything we ordered besides the fried rice was delicious! Two people can definitely share the portion of fried noodles as a side. Only thing about our experience that could be improved was the waitress never introduced her name to us and she may have needed help running food and drinks out to serve us quicker and get the wait down.
