Pretty good chinese. I wasn't a fan of their fried rice but the house special lo mein was delish. My two kids ate it all....but they didn't touch their rice. :( We opted for take out vs dining in. However I think we will try the buffet when time allows. Service was great...we were immediately greeted. Phone in the order w a 10 min wait. This place was good many years ago. We stopped going there and would get food from twin dragons which was light years better. King wok has at best average food but this last time we were disgusted to find a roach in our food. Never again will we eat or get food or anything like that from this place. If i could put a zero i would. I brought my grandchild to eat on a Sunday, I was not hungry but she loves Chinese. So i got her the buffet and i ordered something to go for later. Well when i went to check out the waitress charged me for a buffet which i did not eat. I had to ague with the management not to be charged. In my eyes that was them trying to steel from me. Absolutely amazing food! Highly recommend the hand rolled egg rolls and the dumplings from scratch. So good.

Basic as hell. Save your money. The food was lukewarm, the restaurant it self had a funny smell to it, just an all around no for me.

We typically go to Chinese buffets no more then 2 or 3 times a year because usually it's a last resort when we just can't figure out where to eat. Tonight was no different and we didn't have high expectations but despite that, I did learn one thing about the experience of coming here; never again. Some of the food was decent and warm (not hot) and some was just not tasty at all and downright cold. At one point, we told the server, who was great, and she told the kitchen. They came and filled some of the trays. Notice I said, "fill" and not replace. Basically fresh food mixed in with old food. Then there's the bathroom. Disgusting doesn't even describe how filthy it was. When a 10 y/o boy says the restroom is nasty, you know it's nasty. Anyway, that's the first and last time we'll be here. read more

This was always my favorite crab rangoon spot. I was never a fan of anything else but the crab rangoon was out of this world. I moved away a few months ago and went back today to visit and ordered crab rangoon. What I got were a bunch of empty won tons that had a little cream cheese smeared on them and were way overcooked. I specifically ordered carry out so i could ensure i got fresh made rangoons instead if having them pull them off the buffet but i think thats what happened today. It's sad and im bummed I had to waste my money. Definitely wont be back. I ordered 2 orders so i could have leftovers to eat all week but i ate 1 and the rest went in the trash. read more

Well I have no idea what happened to my review of King Wok - especially as I was the first one to review it more than two years ago when it first opened and was just a little take out place - not a buffet restaurant. In fact, according to the very nice owners, a young Chinese lady and her brother, I was their first customer. Ha! Credentials first: I grew up in NY, have eaten at well over 200 Chinese places in at least 15 states including well over 25 in NY where they are mostly good, and I am the author of a new cookbook. I am a Chinese food SNOB... and I know good Chinese from the total crap that they serve at many of these boo-fays in Lafayette. Now to my review. If you look at my other reviews, you will see that I've eaten at a bunch of Chinese joints in Lafayette... and at least six buffets, and I have been very harsh in reviewing them as a few of them are horrible, but apparently most people in Lafayette don't know Chinese food or how to review it. King Wok IS the best Chinese place in Lafayette - without a doubt... And if you have issue with this, then point me to some Chinese place that you think is better. either that, or GTFO. The food here is excellent, and not just some of it, almost all of it. I've eaten almost everything on the buffet, and have ordered take-out at least 20 times in the last few years. Here is a summary: - Egg Drop Soup - dee-lish. Like this stuff is supposed to taste. - Wonton Soup - Same... and filled with delicious wontons and sliced pork. - Egg Rolls - crispy and fresh - Fried Rice - really good... and I find this dish to be crap at most Chinese places. - Chicken chow mein - ohh man... This stuff is the shit.! Tastes just like the chow mein I am used to eating in NY. How they get the chicken pieces so tender in this dish is beyond me. - Orange chicken - dynamite. - Sweet and sour Shrimp - My friend Julie's favorite... and she is Cajun and knows shrimp. These are big, fresh, and crispy. - Bourbon Chicken -- Holy Mother of God!!!!!! This dish is so amazing, that every time I order it I am again astonished as to how good it is. Probably the best dish n the menu, and if you order it to go, you really get a lot of chicken for about $9. If you have not figured it out yet, King Wok is REALLY good. Driving back from Dallas to NOLA, we decided this would be a good place to stop for a quick & filling bite to eat. Small buffet, but good hot & sour soup. The usual selection of Americanized Chinese food, plus a bit of sushi. Only 2 other tables of diners were there when we visited (it was Christmas Eve) so some of the food looked like it had been out for a while. Still, pretty good, and for only about $7 each it was a good value. read more

PLEASE READ THIS REVIEW!! We read great reviews so My fiance and I drove an hour through horrible traffic to eat the WORST Chinese food we've ever had. Every plate we had was left full. I cannot say how disgusted I was and we eat Chinese about once a week!!! The mushrooms had a grit and greasy that left a horrible residue in my mouth. The wonton tasted like it was filled with bland hamburger meat. The noodles were even over cooked!! They had frog legs that were so salty you don't even want another bite! The cheesecake was grainy the shrimp tasted old. The soups had a slime over them like they have been sitting for a while. The sushi was horrid. The only thing good was the prepackaged ice cream... I told them it was horrible and we didn't eat and only gave us 2 dollars off.... I'm still starving. read more

The food here is good. I especially like the Hot and Sour soup. I went today to get some soups for my sick family member. The guy at the front desk was separating lots of coins in his hands to the cash register. There is a large bottle of germX on the counter. He did not clean his hands and grabbed a soup container and went to the buffet for my soup. Needless to say this disgusted me, knowing he even had to touch the soup ladle. When I got home I took a germX wipe and wiped the outside of the container. Makes me wonder what other hygiene this place does not do. Not sure now if I will return. read more

Been here a few times, each time it gets worse. Service is fine. Tables were sticky, any shrimp dish seems to have sweet taste, everything else tasted like old butter. Even the cheesecake for dessert was drying out from sitting for too long:( read more

Holy Cow! CLEAN, GREAT FOOD. Everytime I go, even if its close to closing , the food is not dried out and empty. It is the best chineese restaurant Ive been to. Hek, and I just moved back from Cali where they have China town! read more
