I'm not very happy with Noonan Energy right now. The price of oil has increased by 18.5% since the war with Iran started, yet Noonan has increased their priced over 30%. It went from $3.58/gallon to $4.58/gallon. I feel that was a little excessive. PS I'm not from San Francisco. I live in western MA. Can't change it. read more

I've been dealing with this company for a year and a half and I can tell you the customer service is not there. The woman in the office has a horrible attitude. Every time I call, whether it's regarding an oil order or service for the system she is not a nice person. If you hate tire job you should quit! The guys that have come out to my home have been nice, both serving and oil delivery. Unfortunately, the woman answering the phone is the "face" of the company and ruining the reputation. I can say that I have been a customer for about 4 decades. I have had oil delivered and my boiler replaced twice in that time, including the massive boiler when I first moved in. Always provided quality equipment and professional installation. The professionalism extends beyond the service technicians such as when ever contacting the office, for any reason, like scheduling a tuneup or questions about billing, the response has always been friendly and informative. Also, adding more value to this business relationship, I like the changes to their website and online bill payment. Noonan Energy installed a large mini-split heat pump system in our house (two outdoor condensers & nine indoor units). Their price was not the lowest, but quite reasonable. From the initial quotation and planning with Joe to later installation, their crew were very nice and friendly. However, the biggest reason I'm writing this review is how they handled a leak that developed at around the one-year mark (when the labor warranty was about to run out). Apparently they had a bad batch of copper line sets. When they came out to fix it, they replaced not only the leaking line set, but also other line sets connected to the same branch box, which I was indeed worrying about developing problems further down the road. It was a huge labor for them but it put my mind at ease. I like how they stand behind their work and I feel much better having recommended Noonan to quite a number of my colleagues and will continue to do so! read more

We have been dealing with Noonan Energy for over a decade now. You couldn't ask for a more dependable and responsive company. They always deliver our oil on time, we have never run out. We have had many problems with our old boiler and needed to call them on holidays, weekends or late at night.Someone has always come out to fix the problem. We have purchased their service plan to help cover these costs. Recently, we bought a new boiler and hot water heater from them. We had checked other company's prices and deals and found them to be most reasonable, using high quality equipment. Over the years we have dealt with many of their repair people as well as office helpers, all are wonderful people to deal with. My mom had a Noonan plumber at her house who messed up the kitchen and now I have a plumber here looking at a garbage disposal they installed just - few years ago which never worked right and is now broke. We have used Noonan for more than 15 years and have always been happy with their service. We use them not only for automatic oil delivery, but service and regular tune-ups of our heating and central a/c systems. In addition, they have top notch plumbing and electrical divisions. Noonan plumbers have replaced faucets, disposals and toilets (1 just last year) for us. Noonan electricians have done electrical change-outs (last year) and replaced/repaired light fixtures. We could not be happier with this company and appreciate that we can call the same company for all these services. We would recommend Noonan to everyone! read more

I recently used Noonan Energy to replace my breaker box in my basement. I didn't realize they did electrical work until I saw their ad on t.v. Their electrician, Dan, came to my home and gave me a quote within two days of calling them. I was also interested in a whole house generator and had a separate quote on that work. The price was fair and I was told that due to equipment shortages and high demand for electrical work in 2021 that my project would take over a month to start. I thought everything was reasonable. I had the work done. Everyone from Noonan was professional and informative. I would use them again and also recommend them to my friends. In 2021 it seems any equipment will and service will take time, be patient and know your working with highly skilled technicians when you use Noonan. read more

Zero customer loyalty or respect for the elderly. My mother is 90 and on a fixed income that has dropped about 35% due to the pandemic. She's been with this company since they bought the one she was using, near 20 years through both. She bought a furnace through them. On 12/02 the fuel ran out, she's on auto fill and again 30 days later. Their Tech came. He ignored me asking him to leave the fuel and let me start the furnace. He decided the fuel tank was unusable, left it on cans, the furnace didn't run that night. They came the next day reconnected it, broke her fuel gauge and charged her $312. Two days later the furnace would not run. The furnace has a cracked boiler. I asked about fixing it, they said they can't get the part and do not seem to care the furnace is burning fuel to fast. While she had no heat I was trying to get them to return. I complained they left her without heat. At that point the woman in Palmer complained about a barely late bill and implied that they might not send someone if I did not pay it then. I told her the furnace used the fuel faster than it should have, but I'd pay it as soon as I could. When I called them the next time, she started asking for the payment. I told her I sent it the day she demanded it but it takes time. She implied I was lying. I told her she was being rude to a long-time customer and that I was upset they held my mother hostage by disabling her fuel tank then demanding payment. She denied she said it. She later called and refused to deliver fuel until the new bill was paid. She was rude, dismissive and implied my mother was a deadbeat. They didn't deliver fuel, before it ran out again 30 days later, despite receiving payment before the bill was late and wanted to charge her $100 for 10 gallons of fuel. I was so sick of how they were treating my mother and that they let her run out of fuel for a 3rd time. I started to cuss her out and told her she was a horrible person to treat a long-time elderly customer like garbage when the reason she was late on the bill was the furnace they bought for her was burning fuel faster than it should. She made it clear she did not care how this was hurting my mother and just keep complaining about getting paid. While talking to the service manager, to contest the service charge, he told me they had stopped fuel delivery because the bill, from the first time they had let it run out, was not paid. But they never called to tell her. I called back to see when they would deliver fuel. As, despite the way they treated her, my mother still felt loyalty to them. When I called, one of the women at the Springfield office would put me on hold and I would get disconnected. When I told her, she said rudely that I keep hanging up. I said I wasn't hanging up I got disconnected. She implied I was lying told me to stop hanging up and put me on hold. When I called back, she scolded me for hanging up again then while I was trying to tell her that I was not hanging up she put me on hold mid-sentence. When I spoke to their manager, she said they were dropping her account. I asked her why they were dropping a longtime customer for a barely late bill. But the only reason their Executive Office Manager would give is "Um no we're done we gave you a credit; um we're done we're not delivering no more oil to you." She refused to let me appeal her decision. I expect more from a company after so many years. While I'm sure she's paid late. She's paid everything she's ever owed them. If they had an issue they should have called to discuss it or to see if they could help her, like setting up a payment plan or see if she qualified for fuel assistance. When she had used the fuel sooner then expected they could have called to see if something was wrong. When it burned 250 gallons in 30 days, they should have called to find the cause. Instead, they shut her off with no warning, left her without heat for over twenty hours, broke her fuel gauge and lied about it, charged her $312 for service she didn't need and dropped her account in the middle of winter during a pandemic. read more

Extremely poor customer service. Spent a bunch of money on a tankless hot water system with Noonan, started acting up a year or so after install. Their technicians don't understand this equipment very well and couldn't be bothered to get help from the manufacturers support. Jerked us around for over 6 months supposedly working on a remedy. Finally the owner comes out (2 hours late for an appointment) and had zero idea how to resolve the problem. I was able to email support with a description of the issue and a video of unit acting up, within a couple hours support had a diagnosis and fix. Look elsewhere for this type of equipment, they don't have the expertise and clearly don't care. read more

My parents are over a 50 year customer of Davis Fuel which was purchased by Noonan. The customer service at Noonan is horrible. They want to deliver oil only when they feel it is necessary. The people who answer the phone are very argumentative. Anyone I speak to there is awful. Their goal seems to make a much money as they can. I am the caretaker of my parents and unfortunately I have to call this horrible company when the oil tank needs to be filled. I miss Davis Fuel. They were so customer focused and the people there were very nice. Even though the oil was finally delivered, I am upset with what I had to go thru for it to happen. The person who answered the phone was so excited she had found a way to save small trips as she called them. She is not thinking about the fact that the customer is on a fixed budget and has to be concerned with money management. She might be a valued employee to you, but she is a rude customer service person. The last two oil deliveries I got this person. The first time she begrudgingly said she would put in the delivery. Mary Lou is a God send and the sweetest person that you could hope to deal with when you are in need and truly need help. They always follow up with me to make sure that my system is serviced every year and that my tank never runs empty. I recently bought I house that I had been renting and continued service from Noonan, as that was who my landlord had been using. Here is my story of the past year of home ownership and using Noonan as my oil company (in the Amherst area). The biggest issue I have is with their customer service. 1. Every time I need to call from set up to questions, the woman on the phone is rude and snappy, this is with the exception of one woman who I spoke with on one occasion. They make it seem as though your call is an inconvenience to their day. 2. During the first year of owning the home we set up a cleaning after several hostile messages left by a woman from the company stating that it needed to be done. In late August a man came and entered my home without permission. This is a big issue with a large dog and a child in the home. He complained that the boiler was too wet and made a big deal out of the fact that we hadn't run the boiler all summer (because our water heater is electric). Sorry? The president of the company did respond to my complaint but only about the man entering my home without permission stating that, that was not the way they are supposed to handle a home visit. I appreciated that. 3. A few months later come to find out there is an issue with a pump and there is leaking that was never noticed by the man doing the cleaning. A very nice man from Noonan came and fixed the issue no problems until the billing. I receive and pay the bill. I continue to receive this bill for 5 months, calling every month to sort out the fact that I had paid it. Every time the woman was rude and claimed that she could not fix the issue but would have it taken care of, which took 5 months and 6 phone calls to do. 4. There was some soot build up and a bit of an oil smell this past 2 months, I finally call to have it looked at and the same man who fixed the pump came to take a look. He stated that the cleaning was never done properly in the first place, that the man did not do a very good job and if it had been him he would of had us leave the boiler run for a day and come back to do a proper cleaning the next day. he also stated that the nozzle which was blocked up due to the poor cleaning should be fine until the fall of 2016. 5. I called as soon as I received the bill to discuss the fact that this second cleaning was in part due to the failure to do a good job the first time, the woman on the phone was as usual very unpleasant and handed me off to a man in the office. The man did not really care to hear what I had been told by the gentleman who had actually been at my home and said everything was unrelated. He was very condescending and quick to talk over me as to avoid actually addressing my actual issues. He stated that the first cleaning was done poorly because it had been 4 years since the previous cleaning, coming across as though it was my fault though I have owned the home for less than a year. 6. The only positive is that the president did address a large issue personally, they have a few people who work for them that are no nonsense and professional, and that their deliveries are done on a regular timely manner. I personally am switching my service to another company as no one should feel it is such an unpleasant chore to deal with their oil company. read more

I just started off doing business with this company, as my company went out of business. The person who came over, to discuss a new oil heating system, Al, was a very good person, and this is not what I expected for an out come from this. the stated quote, for a new heater , was 4000.00 at 95.00 per hour labor charge. I just bought a top of the line system, new, for 1500.00, and it will be here next week. it is the same one noonan was going to install. I set up oil delivery, of about 150 gallons, and before they showed up to even find out how much it will be they debited my account for 525.00 ouch. they were good on the phone, they cancelled the fuel delivery, and re-credited my bank account, as I requested.I wish I had read the reviews before I even began. So sad, that this business, with all of it's rich history, will fail on this business basis.It's just a matter of time. read more

As an old customer for economic reason this is the 2nd time I called for help and they were very rude starting with the receptionist. I move to others company because I am having a struggle with certain things and as a mom of three child I am so sad to have a cold night without heat. My first called they denied because They were not my actual supplier, but the 2nd time I was thinking money is money let me call NOONAN to see if the little flexible but it was not . They denied services with a big no that is so sad. Hopefully these company never have to feel what I am felling right now trying to deal with the struggle of it. I have been serviced by Noonan since I purchased my home in 2005 and have never had any issues. The prior owner of the home had also used them and had no issues. Customer service is always in good spirits and eager to help with any situation. Noel's heating has extremely poor customer service and business practices. Having been a customer for several years, I called them when I ran out of oil at my home. They refused to sell me oil or service my furnace because I had not ordered from them in over a year. The women who answered the phone, Lou-Ann, was extremely rude and unhelpful. I have filed a complaint with the BBB and will inform friends and family to switch services. read more

Purchased a very expensive System 2000 boiler a year and a half ago from Noonan. It took them several attempts to get it working right, i.e., waking up to no heat.Called Noonan to get it serviced and the very robot-like rep said we hadn't purchased oil from them in the last year so we aren't considered a customer. We have a high efficiency boiler and a pellet stove and didn't need to purchase oil from them but couldn't understand how that affected their refusal to service our boiler. She just kept repeating that we weren't a customer. She's right, we definitely won't be. read more
