I've had a Bose Wave Radio since 2000 and it stopped working from one night to the next. Norm at Norbern electronics spoke with me over the phone and was very informative and clear about what they do. He took all the time I needed. He gave me his opinion, specs, details, etc. and I decided to go ahead with the repairs. He even talked to me at length after the diagnosis to go over options. They did a great job. I had zero problems with customer service or the repairs/ packaging, etc. Norm was great, Toni was doing her job. I don't expect a life long friend after dealing with them. If you have a Bose unit that needs repairs, call Norm. They will do right by you. I've had the unit back a week and so far it's like new. Sounds better than I remember. P.S. UPS charges a kidney to send a wave radio. Be prepared to be completely ripped off by any delivery or package service. I am still not over what they charged. The UPS guy didn't even look at the address, and said it would cost more because it's Colorado. Meanwhile. I get a 20 pound package with bigger dimensions from amazon for free. With free returns. Corporations are getting a free ride, while you and I pay out the nose for everything. read more

I packed up my Bose Lifestyle 25 CD Player on July 7th, 2020 and shipped it off to Norbern Electronics in Colorado. The CD Player skipped terribly and the Digital display was totally non-functional. I am Happy to report that my unit was completely repaired and I received it back via UPS on July 30th, 2020. The unit was completely restored and it plays as well as it did when it was Brand New. I had 2 Phone calls with Norbern Electronics, one with Toni and the other with Norm. Both times the calls were helpful and courteous. The price was as we agreed over the Phone on the initial call, and there were no surprises. Thanks Toni and Norm for a Fantastic job. I have a vintage record player from my Grandmother that my roommate broke. It has been a special part of my family's life since the 70's. I have been calling around and heard good things about this shop. I called and left a message and heard nothing back for days. I decided to call back again and see when I could take it in to get serviced. The woman who answered the phone was very rude and told me no one would fix my record player in town or in Denver and proceed to hang up on me. I consider Norm and his operation pretty much unequaled in the North Springs area. I've had an open reel deck disassembled and serviced here and a pair of speakers refoamed, and I couldn't be happier with both the service and the prices. I have quite a few high-end analog electronics that I am slowly resurrecting, and I have complete confidence in Norbern to be there when I need the real professionals. Highly recommended! Also: don't miss the Pikes Peak Electronics museum as you walk in to the right hand side. It's a treasure trove of vintage tube and transistor electronics with everything from the first CRT televisions to tube testing equipment to everything in between. I too have had the "experience" of their Customer Service. Having recently returned to Colorado after living the past 15 years in Shanghai I needed some assistance and direction about potential repairs on two turntables, as well as two floor speakers. I am not going to go into some long diatribe as there are several already outlining the SAME response and feedback I received. I was ready to drive over four hours to have my equipment repaired/ and or restored. My Onkyo home theater system started acting squirrely and I wasn't sure that it would be cost effective to have it repaired. I called Norben's and reviewed the Onkyo's issues with the nice guy that answered the phone. I worked 30+ years in electronics and was impressed with his questions and over the phone assessment. Even though this system cost $1000 new, technology and the market progressed and great systems are available now for a lot less. Anyway, he said he could perform a non-refundable diagnosis but advised, because of the symptoms and knowing that it was likely a microprocessor issue, that he wouldn't recommend even spending that much on the system. I was impressed on his candor and apparent intelligence in diagnosis. I will definitely recommend Norben to my friends and keep them tucked away for future reference. read more

I had the not-so-fun experience of my Bose subwoofer begin sounding like a bad reverb had infected it. With the help of Norm, I was able to dig into it - safely - and find the problem. It was a very simple fix that did not require it to be professionally repaired. I would not have had the knowledge or confidence to take on the task if not for the people at Norbern. I love my BOSE 3-2-1 and PM-1 so when they broke, I was very disappointed because I knew they couldn't be replaced. So, I was very excited when I learned they could be repaired (after contacting BOSE and local electronic repair places with no luck). The entire process working with Norbern was excellent. My BOSE 3-2-1 is working better than ever before and I expect to get another decade of use out of it. When they didn't have the parts for my PM-1, they were willing to purchase an item from eBay to get the part I needed. It is also working great. I was nervous to ship my electronics. But the whole process was easy (I used UPS to help me package my items) and it took less time that I expected to get the repaired items back, even with time for shipping. If I need any electronics repaired in the future I won't hesitate to send them off to Norbern. It was well worth the cost, which I felt was reasonable. Toni and Norm answered my questions by phone and replied to emails promptly. They were very friendly and willing to help me find a way to fix an item that fell outside of their normal repairs. READ THIS!!! I made the mistake of NOT reading the review left by Rylee N. I say this was a mistake because that pretty much sums up the business and the people that are running it. They have no regard for treating people the right way. In my opinion, the way you run your business is a reflection of who you are as a person. It's my belief that how you treat people matters when it comes to business and in life. Here's the story if you care to read: I took in a turntable that wasn't working. It had been given to me by my mom, who got it as a present when she was 12 years old from her dad (who recently passed). To say this turntable is special would be an understatement. I explained all of this to Norbern, who reassured me that he would try to fix it, that it should take 2 weeks to diagnose the issues and another 3-4 weeks to fix it. 2 weeks go by, I don't hear a word from him. I call them up to see what the issue may be and similar to what Rylee N. wrote, the woman was extremely rude and short despite the fact that I really only wanted to know what deal was. She explained my turntable was the next in line to be diagnosed. Sounds believable right? Yet another week passes and I don't hear a word. I call them again and get the same woman who proceeds to HANG UP the phone after I explained to her that I no longer wanted to do business with them (read Rylee N's review, I can't make this stuff up). This decision was solely based on the principle of the matter: I honestly don't care how long it takes to fix something or if your business is super busy, the only thing that matters to me is that you're transparent and open with the customer. This involves occasional​ contact with them regarding the status of the item being fixed. Basically, treat the customer with respect and honor any word/agreement you've made with them. That's the reason why I am no longer doing business with them and will not recommend anyone to use his services. The icing on the cake is that not only did my turntable not get fixed, but they also​ returned it to me with a giant gash in the base of the vinyl. I am so happy with the service from Norbern Electronics on our Bose CD/Radio. The unit had been malfunctioning for a long time, and I just decidied to get the repair done. it seems risky to pack up an expensive radio and send it off out of state, but I took the chance, and I am glad I did. The service was thorough. They contacted me every step of the way by email, first looking at it, then giving me an estimate of the cost and time to repair it. The service was pretty quick, too. I am giving Norbern Electronics a 5 Star but would give a 20 or higher if it were available. I live in HI, could not find anyone on the island to repair my Bose Lifestyle 20, and the Bose Co. in the mainland, were not interested in fixing it. Someone recommended Norbern Electronics and I am so thrilled that they did. I called them and Norm was so willing to give me advice. I felt so confident after talking to him and shipped it to them right away. When he received it, it was fixed and shipped back in just a couple of days. WHAT AWESOME SERVICE!!!!! And, it is playing as good as it was when it was new. WOW!!!!! I am just so pleased and highly recommend Norbern Electronics. YOU CAN'T GO WRONG!!!!!
