After needing X-rays I went to yelp and found this place, called to make an appointment found out for X-rays you don't make an appointment, you walk in. So, I arrived around noon was told there was two people a head of me so I ended up waiting about thirty minutes before I was called. Came by for a chest Xray this week. I called to confirm that I could drop by without an appointment and showed up around 1130. Two pages of paperwork and they called me in after less that 5 minutes. The tech doing the film was nice and respectful, and told me if I wanted a copy of the report, to let the staff know at the front desk. Of course, I got the front desk, and the girl who checked me in got this blank look, like no one had ever requested a copy of their results before. (She also acted like she hadn't just helped me 15 minutes ago haha). Anyways, I called in today, and spoke to someone who enthusiastically agreed to mail a report out so I guess I'm good to go. This review is for the Concord NorCal Imaging office only... THIS PLACE IS A BIG ZERO!!! Normally this place is great. But today, there is a new receptionist who hasn't got a clue to their process. X-rays are walk-in only, no appointments. I came here yesterday and they said it would be an hour, so I decided to return this morning at 8am instead. I arrived to their lobby at 7:55 and there was only one person in front of me. At 8:45, the lobby is full now, and I can hear the receptionist calling my doctor to confirm the instructions on the form. So bottom line, it doesn't matter what time of day you come in for an X-Ray, expect to wait an hour plus. It is now 8:55 and I am still sitting in the lobby. One hour and counting. I would manage this office a little more efficiently. The time is now 9:00 am and I am still waiting to be called. I will update later. Update: Still waiting at 9:10. Update: Still waiting approaching 9:20am. I think their focus is on financial over customer service. They must get more money for MRI/CatScan and Mammography screenings. Zero stars, especially for the receptionist. Unbelievable! Very incompetent! 9:25... still wait I asked at 9:25 how much longer it would be. After the receptionist spoke with another girl, they said it would be 45 minutes more. WHAT? My blood pressure shot up and I told the receptionist "That is Bullshit!" I asked a manager and told her after this experience I should be able to schedule an appointment. I am very pissed at this moment and don't know if I will ever go back here again. read more

Over the last few weeks, I have had several tests including a bone density and CT scan -- both conducted by William Nicholas, one of the techs working there. All staff have been professional, courteous and efficient. William, however, must have sensed my concern and was especially kind, informative, reassuring and fun which did a lot to raise my spirits and allay my fears. Thank you, William! Honestly, this was a very simple and pleasant experience - and I was there for full spine x-rays. Friendly, helpful, straight forward.

Front desk staff is helpful and always do their best to take care of you in the order of arrival. If they have phones to answer, they are always back to you as soon as possible. All of the technicians I've ever had there are professional and efficient. I guess I'm lucky that I've never had to wait more than 5 minutes past my appointment time to be seen. The worst that ever happened is that the computers were down once, so they couldn't take my payment. It's a very busy place, and I'm sure there is a lot of stress to keep things moving on schedule. When you consider that the prices to get these services done at a hospital are two or three times as much, it is certainly worth it. We will always go to NorCal Imaging to get our tests done. read more

I was very nervous, first mammogram and all. The technician was awesome. She put me at ease immediately, and the procedure was not too bad, just like she promised. Remember to bring your parking ticket in with you-they validate. Two negative notes to watch out for: 1) There was a man sitting on the other side of the accordian door in a tiny area where the tech asked me to disrobe. I had to squeeze right by him after changing while trying to hold my open-backed gown closed! It was embarrassing and uncomfortable. The tech herself was apologetic about the man sitting there and she even said, "I hate that," and allowed me to change back into my clothes in the xray room while she finished on the computer. 2) The ladies at the front desk were not friendly at all. I felt like I was bothering them. Patients come in very nervous-you should at least smile! I hope these things can be addressed by NorCal Imaging, because it was an otherwise successful visit based on the compassion and caring of the professional technician who performed the procedure. read more

I have come to this office over 6 times for xrays. The receptionist at the front were very friendly and the technician is super nice. People have to remember that this is a "walk in " service for xrays as they take them as a first come first serve deal. Unlike the MRI's and other specialty tests have "by appointment" only. I have had to wait one time a lengthy time but the staff kept me informed. I see others complaining but honestly they have been great read more

My dad had an emergency MRI schedule at this location on a Friday at 10 a.m. We were supposed to arrive at 9:30 and at 9:20 I get a phone call saying that the appointment had to be cancelled because the technician didn't show up. I explained to the person on the phone that this appointment was an emergency, and they reschedulde him to Monday at 1 p.m. He shows up at 12:30 and at 2:05 after being in there for over an hour, the technician all of the sudden "went missing". So now he is on his way to Walnut Creek to see if they can do an MRI there. I cannot believe the level of unprofessionalism in this place. read more

I needed an X-ray for an extremity & having been burned in the past = Dr's office sent me over to Hospital X-Ray dept - at the time, I did not realize the absolutely insane markup a hospital charges on top of the radiologist reasonable fee to take/process X-Rays. So this time I ignored the Dr's receptionist (yes, they are still doing it & the hospital fee is even higher - I checked), I started searching on-line & Yelp for reasonable alternatives. I chose Nor-Cal in Concord because they had the highest Yelp rating & no real horror stories compared to one or two other locations including theirs. What are the primary elements; Location - Although I had to take a longer Bart ride, their office is a short walk across from the Concord station Appointment Process - Although there is the usual telephone tree system, once a live person came on they were pleasant & professional. NO appointment was necessary for X-Rays, they are handled on a walk-in basis Reception / InTake - I arrived approx 8am (opening time) Professional, well staffed, organized/efficient and the waiting area was clean & pleasant. There were 3 intake/receptionists as it was busy even at that hour. Wait Time - after completing the necessary forms & payment processing ($70), less than 10 minutes X-Rays - very professional & pleasant Technician (Sandy), handled everything in a timely & efficient manner. I walked out with my CD containing the X-Rays in preparation for my Dr. Appt So why the 3 stars, X-Ray Report - It was not completed by the Radiologist until 3.5 days (original estimate was 2 days) after my appointment (Friday late afternoon for an early Tuesday X-Ray set) Report Mailing - It was not mailed on that Friday but the following Tuesday (yes Monday was a holiday) by postmark - not sure it even was mailed that day because I did not receive until the end of the week. i did not receive it in time for my Appt - neither did my Dr. He used the CD but it would have helped me in my discussion with the Dr. (he responds much better to direct informed questions) Bottom Line - Would I go again or recommend to others, Yes with the understanding that it is a very busy place & timetables might be optimistic. read more

Absolutely incompetent! I physically took the referral from my doctor to their office and gave it to the receptionist along with my drivers license and medical insurance cards. Fifteen minutes later, the employee who took this information called me to the desk and said that a "second call" to my insurance was needed and I would be contacted when my appointment was scheduled. One week later after no return call I called back and was ultimately told that my name was not in their system but that they would double check with the receptionist and call me right back. No call after waiting two hours and when I called back again was told I was not in the system and that they would have to start from scratch. My doctor's office is now following up but clearly this NorCal Imaging office has no interest in trying to provide even minimum acceptable service. read more

I arrived promptly for my 8am appointment. The front staff was up and running and got me checked in. I've had to wait in my car until they opened at other locations so this was a pleasant surprise. The front staff was great; they get the star . However I was there for an X-ray and I overheard that they had a power outage over the weekend. It's understandable that they had a delay. I also overheard that their tech gets there at 7 so they were baffled that she wasn't calling anyone back. I waited over an hour for a scheduled 8am appointment. The tech told me that 1) she doesn't get there until 8:30 and 2) her department doesn't have appointments... my paperwork said 8:00 am not show up at anytime during their business hours. I also overheard someone say that my tech didn't want to call anyone back until 8:30. That is unacceptable. By the time I got called back the waiting room was full and there were over 10 people waiting. I'll make sure to request a different location if my doctor requests another X-ray. read more
