Disclaimer: This is for the women's shoes and handbags departments only. I am a typical Minnesotan and bundle up when it's cold outside and that includes Hunter rain boots to combat the salt and snow of the disgusting Midwest winters. As I ran out the door yesterday, I noticed that my rain boots (beloved staple) were cracking. Sure, they are not expensive but any rain boots crack and Hunters are not supposed to. I immediately called Hunter and since I bought them just over a year ago, they said there was nothing they could do for me but that I should try Nordstrom where I bought them. Now I keep all my boots looking new by cleaning them properly and they were not "used" in any rough means. They looked new... Until the crack. I called Nordstrom and they said to pop in with the receipt. Sadly I didn't have that receipt but I still had the card I had purchased them with. The manager came over (a super cute blonde lady--I think her name was Debbie) and she gave me an exchange after seeing the crack and using my card to pull up the receipt. Like wow! She was beyond helpful and nice. I can't say enough how awesome she was. She even suggested I not purchase the packable boots since that might be why they cracked. I walked out the happiest customer. Now the handbag department is amazing as well. I buy a lot of Long Champ bags and they always get frayed corners after about 5-6 months. At Nordstrom I can bring be bag in and they send it to get fixed for a mere $10-$30 dollars. The bag comes back typically within a week and it looks brand new again. I really like this option since I don't need new bags I just want them always looking new. The Long Champ bags are great for working out, traveling, cosmetics, laptops, shoes, stay overs, etc. because they don't hold in smells (nylon) and they are stain free. Genius. Always great customer service. I am so pleased with the consistently amazing service I receive at Nordstrom at MOA. read more

This review has 100% to do with Rose in T.B.D. at Nordstrom Mall of America. Rose is a total gem. She is fashion forward, helpful, sweet, overly helpful, fun, goes above & beyond, and makes me look good - without breaking the bank. I live in Chicago, but wait until I go to Minnesota to shop at Nordstrom specifically because Rose is just that wonderful. My sister does the same. If you wanna look fashionable, have fun shopping, and do it within reason - ladies go see Rose! read more

I'm not a big fan of shopping IN actual Nordstroms, they usually take one look at me and ignore me, I prefer their online ordering where it's a judgement free zone. But I needed shoes and went to this location to try them on in person. Sadly, when I got home an hour later I saw the sales guy had put the completely wrong pair of shoes (not even the same pair!) in my bag instead of the ones I bought. Inconvenient for sure, but the department manager made the situation right by sending out the shoes to my home and a return label by mail so I didn't have to go all the way back out there. 4 stars because I'd have preferred to have my shoes when I got home, but people make mistakes, and I just appreciate it when a company goes out of their way to correct them. read more

"It's not Nordstrom's problem." Just thought I would update my post from yesterday. Most recently I posted a quick comment about my Nordstrom MOA experience on Twitter and naturally it got the attention of the folks paid by Nordstrom to monitor their social media branding. Here is the email I received from the Store Manager, Joe Greco: "Sorry for my delayed response, as I was out of the store yesterday. Thank you so much for the feedback you have shared with our Nordstrom Customer Care team and on our social sites. I know you've been in communication with Xxxxx xxxxx, our Service Experience Manager and she will continue to keep you updated on your order status, along with xxxxx xxxxxx, your Stylist. Please accept my sincere apologize for the poor service experience you've had with us and please know your concerns have been addressed with the employee involved. You should expect better from us and I'm grateful you cared enough to share your story." Other than adding in the actual names of the Nordstrom MOA employees I was dealing with, could Mr Greco have made his "apology" any more like a rote template taken from the MBA program of a third tier school? Any quick Google search on "how to apologize to customers" reveals a couple of key elements, 1) customers want sincerity not brief placation, 2) customers want to know specifically how you plan on correcting problem the customer is addressing and 3) acknowledgement that the customers concerns have been fully addressed. I called Nordstrom MOA customer service with a shipping mishap (I didn't receive two of my packages) and the first words uttered by the Rep, "that's NOT a Nordstrom problem!" My lifelong business acumen has taught me this, poor behavior starts at the top Mr Greco. read more

I might be just slightly biased as I grew up shopping at Nordstrom. It was really as though other department stores simply didn't exist in my smug, upper-middle class neighborhood in the suburbs of Seattle (Nordstrom's homeland, no less). So...I am biased. No less, the Nordstrom in Mall of America always has fantastic clothes and the best salespeople I've ever met. They're like good friends with better fashion sense than me. I never fail to find something I love here, even if it is nearly always something outside my price range. High quality is pricey, I suppose. I love Nordy's! read more

I'll preface this review by saying bra shopping is the absolute worst. I've shopped at several stores, get fitted, they come up with a different size every time, buy a bra, hate it after a week, and return it. A friend of mine raved about Nordstrom's bras, so I decided to try them out. Luckily I went in during their big anniversary sale when prices were much lower than normal. Got fitted, tried on several, and bought two. After two weeks they're still great and I'm happy I've finally found bras I don't hate. read more

This is a great store with so much to offer. It has amazing staff that are ready to help you with whatever you may need. It also has multiple levels inside the store which is inside one of the biggest and greatest malls in the world. There's just one thing that trips me up. I noticed that there is a women's lounge located on the third and second floor which led me to believe that there would be a men's lounge too. When I walked around the store I did not seem to find anything but a men's restroom which isn't even that clean. I have been told that I'm not observant too but I'm pretty sure I didn't miss anything. I understand that women come to Nordstrom more often or something like that but I still feel that they should add a men's lounge or something. Of course they wouldn't want their store to become a lounge only but women still shop there even though they have a lounge so....... I have to believe that if their going to have a women's lounge they should have a men's one too. Other that that a great store that you should definitely visit at your trip to the mall. read more

I have been having problems finding the right skin care, foundation and concealer. Have gone to Ridgedale and mall of America Nordstrom locations a few times. Having been a Nordstrom die hard customer for over 40 years, I just had one of the worst customer service experiences EVER. I purchased a coat on November 25th, as soon as the "pre Black Friday" sales were up and running. The order went through smoothly. The estimated shipping date was within 2 days. The next day I received an update regarding the shipping - but no date was specified so I called customer service. I was assured that the coat would be shipped, but that the ship date was today, November 28th. Today, November 28th, I received the perfunctory automated email saying that the order had been cancelled and that the item was not in stock on the day I made the purchase - however, Nordstrom DID charge my account (put a hold on it) - and the hold I am now told will not be removed for another 2-3 days. When I called to ask about a substitute - a coat that was similar but slightly less expensive than the one I purchased on the Black Friday special - I was told that coat was not part of the BF specials so Nordstrom could not (would not) discount an item that was not part of the sale - regardless if the cost was less. I asked about a courtesy 25-30% kind of discount - such as Target or Macy's would offer in such a situation - I was told by a supervisor that Nordstrom has a STRICT NO ACCOMMODATION policy with regard to offering discounts on items that aren't on sale - period. Regardless if it is Nordstrom's fault or not. Nordstrom used to be the gold standard regarding customer satisfaction and taking care of a customer. No longer. Nordstrom's zero accommodation policy is worse than a majority of other retailers - Macy's, Target, Kohl's - great irony, I found the EXACT coat in question at Kohl's on sale plus an additional 20% off - making the coat LESS than what I would have been paying for it at Nordstrom. Nordstrom lost the purchase. Nordstrom is still holding my money :-( Worse yet, Nordstrom has lost a 40 year customer. Buyer beware. read more

A very dissapointing experience today. I went to visit the mall with my wife, sister and brother-in-law to look for some new outfits. As soon as we walk into the store, both my wife and sister clearly heard a female associate (possible a manager too, because for had a key around her arm on a keychain) say "they never dress the part...they probably won't buy anything anyway" while looking at them we entered. I am a middle class Asian male and when I go visit the mall for fun with my family, of course I'm going to dress casual and not business-like. Is this the professionalism that is expected from this store in this day and age? Racial discrimination like this normally ruins businesses. I set up an appointment online for a full wardrobe update with a Rachel Venrick, a personal stylist/shopper at Nordstroms at Mall of America. The confirmation emailed stated I would be contacted by Rachel before the appointment to go over my plan and needs. I never heard her but the day before the appointment I received an email reminding me of the appointment and stating they had plenty of clothes picked out for me. How could they pick out clothes for me when Rachel never talked to me? How does she know my style, size or clothing needs? read more

I'm a Nordstrom fan in general, but the service I received at the MOA location was top notch. From the girl in the handbag department who called around to other stores trying to find the bag I was looking for, to the woman in the perfume department who gave me several samples and didn't seem the least bit irritated when I decided against purchasing anything, I had an awesome customer service experience. But what really prompted me to write this review is the service I received in the sunglass department. The sales girl was extremely helpful and honest. She told me the pair of glasses I was leaning towards buying weren't the best fit for my face, and suggested a pair that were perfect and less expensive. She could have let me walk away with ill fitting glasses and banked the commission, but she didn't and I really respect that. read more

Wow! I've never felt SO bullied by an employee! I have purchased countless designer shoes from Nordstrom at the Mall of America. I recently bought a pair of Jimmy Choo wedges that lost all of the gold coloring on the tip of the shoe after wearing them just once! I promptly brought them back and asked if there was anything that they could do to repair the shoe. I was told by a sales associate by the name of ASHLYNN (red hair), that she would NOT accommodate me because it was normal wear and tear! She was SO SO RUDE and completely bullied me out of the store with an evil glare. I've had friends make complaints but I never thought I would have to go as far as making a call to corporate to file a complaint too. I wouldn't go back to this location to purchase shoes if you PAID me!!! read more

Service is always attentive and helpful when purchasing but if you have a return to make, expect different treatment from different associates... We have spent over forty thousand dollars just@ the Mn Nordstrom in 2015. I shop for My three daughters for My hubby and I usually Find lovely Louboutin's and Chanel for myself. Now the returns were for My husband in the men's dept which consists of two pairs of Hudson Byron Selvage jeans and three Burberry Brit polos the total was $1,040. Receipt accompanied. He wanted to exchange the clothing for a Black Movado Sapphire wrist watch $1,995. The original purchase was made with our debit card so he asked for the cash back since the funds had been transferred. Well, that was not possible according to the associate... Why??? How outrageous this was!!! This isn't stolen merchandise or theft of money... So My hubby insisted and stated there is no policy stating against a cash refund let alone two days passed since these items were purchased and the funds were debited upon the completion of the previous transaction. The associate refunded the entire amount in cash. Based on the actions of the Nordstrom associate My husband didn't purchase the Movado Sapphire from them but went across to Ben Bridge for his exquisite watch. Unfortunately this experience has slowed down our purchases@ Nordstroms. We have been ordering direct from the designer websites and directly from the Louboutin boutique on Oak Street and the full line Chanel boutique on Michigan avenue. Some of our clothing purchases still come from the Mn location but when it comes to the designer lines, we desire a more trusting transaction with outstanding and loyal customer service. read more

the one thing I wish is that they had the item I needed to replace stocked in their store! Ordered a great little black dress online for a wedding I was in. Shipped it to a family member's house so I wouldn't have to worry about it arriving in kauai on time. Got to Minnesota, tried it on, it fit like a glove and I couldn't wait to wear it to the wedding. Fast forward to the wedding day. Hair and make-up done...time to put on the perfect dress! Slid it on and had a friend zip me up...and the zipper not only split, but busted. 45 minutes later I was sewn into the only dress for the wedding. Took the dress back to the store and the lady working was likely amused by my story, and the left over brown thread as evidence, but she quickly processed the return for the dress I loved. I don't think I've had a return go so smoothly in a while. Great service! I'll be looking to order another dress if it's still in stock! and will likely have the zipper replaced before I wear it....just in case. read more

There were no obnoxious sales people circling like wolves to their prey as I browsed the men's dept. for a sports jacket. As soon as I picked one up to look closer a man appeared from almost nowhere offering to help. He politely let me be after I said the age old "just looking". When I pulled out a few more jackets he came over offering help and now I was grateful as the selection was almost overwhelming when you add in the sales items mixed with not on sale and then the counters and rows of shirts and slacks. It took over thirty minutes but I found a combination of colors I need for an upcoming social event week. The locked changing rooms are spacious and the salesman wasn't far away when I admired myself in the mirrors, he also carried the keys to the changing room so I could feel secure to not have to carry my wallet and phone with me. He summoned the taylor to measure on the spot and I was done. Interesting effect with the lighting as the suits are under a warm tone light and when pulled out into the stores cool tone light the color magically changes, but if you go to the changing area (sales ploy) the lighting is natural to see the true color. Nordstrom is how department stores and men's stores used to be. A few years ago I purchased a casual jacket and slacks at a bigger chain store that's in every mall (hint: think of a third world country) and found them condescending and trying to direct me to the items they were pushing for the highest spiff. It's a smaller Nordie than my home base (waaaay back in MI) but all the good departments are represented well, with some of those obnoxious mini-boutiques thrown in for giggles - Gucci and Chanel RTW come to mind. I have found the customer service to be hit and miss, but I'm of the "leave me alone unless I come looking for you" type of customer anyway and don't mind being left to browse in peace. It wasn't until this past fall that I happened to get some boots polished up in the "shoe shine" department on the first floor at Nordstom's. I have been in the women's shoe department a zillion times but never noticed the shoe shine area until one of the sales clerks pointed it out to me. It's in the men's section (go figure) near the suits and shoes. There is a comfy high bench area with room for 2 people to sit. If you're in a hurry and don't have time to wait you can drop off your shoes and pick them up later. It's a great little "hidden gem". Prices are reasonable. read more

I am such a huge Nordstrom and often reference the company when talking about customer service. I was in four different Nordstrom stores in So Cal over the past week. But upon returning home to MN I stopped in the Mall of America store and found myself so so disappointed in the service I "didn't" receive. My daughter and I spent at least fifteen minutes in the dress department and wasn't approached by any of the three young sales women standing near the register. As I approached the fitting room (steps from the register) another sales woman walked out and asked if I needed a room. She walked me into a room where I proceeded to try on three $300+ dresses. Not once did anyone check on us, nor did any of the sales women (still standing at the register) say anything when we exited the fitting room and left the area. Wow. So so disappointed. read more

I ordered online today (12/8) and there was the option to pick-up at the store - which I almost didn't do because I didn't want to find parking and then trek inside. Then I noticed there is curbside pick-up! The note said to call 10 minutes before you arrive and I did - PAT (I think this was her name) was fantastic(!!!) and she walked my bag right out to my car within a minute of arriving in the sidewalk cutout. I purchased an $800 Hugo Boss men's suit from Nordstrom in the spring of 2011. The fabric in the pants tore after I wore it approximately 20 times. The tear was not along the seam, but rather in the fabric itself. I returned to Nordstrom and spoke with the manager of the menswear department. He explained that he pants were irreparable. He offered to sell me a matching pair of pants at full retail price of $200. He explained that Nordstrom does not have a policy of warranting their menswear from defects. By contrast, I purchased a high-end suit from Macy's in downtown Minneapolis in 2010. That suit developed an unusual wear pattern after six months. The Macy's menswear department and tailors found a solution at no cost to me. I still own that suit. I will not shop at Nordstrom again. Their prices are among the highest for menswear in Minneapolis-St. Paul. High prices normally come with high-quality service. Apparently not at Nordstrom. read more

I am always astounded by the amazing customer service. I love taking clients here because they take great care of my clients and me! They have great petite and plus sections, a huge shoe department and a nice men's department. And if you're looking to upgrade your undergarments, this is the place to go for free bra fittings and a beautiful selection of bras, camis, panties and slips. read more

I first visited Nordstrom a few years ago and i'm defintely a fan today! The quality of their clothing, shoes and other products are great, they last a long time. The employees are very personable, patient and will very easily get online to see if their other locations nationwide have a particular item that they do not, then ship it to your home for free. I even get phone calls from their cosmetics and women's dept giving me a heads up whenever a sale is coming up....that's what i'm talking about! Yea, some may complain about the prices being on the high side but you can easily take advantage of the sales and remember the quality of what you are getting. I can't speak of Nordstrom without mentioning their return policy; there is no time frame unlike most retails stores that have a 30 or 90 day return policy. How about those bathrooms, absolutely clean and very well scented anytime of the day. For nursing mothers or those with young children, the womens lounge area is the best! In all my years of visiting their Bloomington location, i've always had a great experience with all the different employees that have helped me in different depts. That's a big plus so if you have a spare time to visit them this holiday season, please do so; it is well worth your time! read more

Great store for customer service. My favorite areas are the petite department and the shoe department. Being small, I cannot always find clothes that fit or shoes. They have the widest selection of sizes. Best to shop their big sales or clearance racks as many of the regular priced items are quite expensive. read more

The only reason I'm giving this one star is because a lady that works the Dior makeup area and a younger man in the shoe department rock! This used to be the only place I shopped. Makeup, shoes, clothes, jewelry, perfume, undergarments, etc. The customer service has not only diminished, but has taken on a completely demeaning approach. I didn't think this was a Nordstrom thing. The customer service used to be excellent and is now horrible. I do not dress up to shop. Are you kidding me???!! This is also Minnesota and I work a corporate job that I "dress up" for Monday-Friday. Im definitely not dressing up for sales people. I am stared at and talked at by the workers. I was shown the sale area. Lol. I'm a level 4 member. I spend money. Not anymore. Order your purses online from the designer, go to Sephora for makeup or order from Saks or Nieman Marcus online. All of these same designers can be purchased elsewhere. I will not support them anymore. I hate to break the news, but people who typically dress up to shop, carrying their fake designer bags, and whatnot.... they don't spend money! read more

I love Nordstrom's, for the first time, I am extremely disappointed! I have purchased over 30 pieces of David Yurman jewelry over the years! I bought a DAVID Yurman watch,priced at over $3200, just recently it started acting up, and took it back into Nordstrom's. Their David Yurman representative took it and said they would get an estimate. They came back and told me $285+ to fix. I said that surprises me, especially with the purchase price of $3200. I asked for DY customer service phone number. I spoke to Jane on Oct 1, she said that she would get back to me by the end of the week, by Oct 5. Did not hear a word, until I called back on Oct 10. She then told me that my issue was being expedited to upper management. I have not heard a thing since! The Staff at Nordstrom did nothing, one person named Mathew suggested I eliminate some of the recommended fixes, in order to save money! It was not the $285, it was the principal of it! Neither Nordstrom or David Yurman tried to compromise, and the mark up on Jewelry is astronomical!!! I will find another brand of Jewelry to buy!! read more

I was buying perfume for my wife and had to wait for 5 minutes before store associates would look up from their registers (with no other customers nearby) to help ring up my purchase. I went to Nordstroms a couple of days ago ready to purchase a new bag. The purse itself was quite spendy and one of the co-workers looked at me up and down as if I couldn't purchase it, which I could. Yes I am of color. The thing that bothered me most was that she followed my mother and I as I was waiting for the cash rep. to bring up my purse. She was very judgmental of my skin color, I could tell.
