Nordstrom really knows how to take care of its customers. I get my make up there and I went into buy some more of it. Unfortunately,they were out of my color, but they offered to order it. I paid for it and waited for my email saying it was ready for pick up. Don't you know,that it was ready the very next day! I went in and showed them my email and they gave me my order. The salesperson could not have been nicer. Yes, it is a little pricey, but it is really high quality ingredients and it last for a long time. I had fun shopping on my way out of the store. They have a nice curated collection of products that's neither too conservative or too trendy looking. I was excited to see the curated Vuori items for example. They are a San Diego based athleisure company that offers comfortable and sustainable clothing. Think Lululemon but focused more on comfort. Oftentimes we want something new without it being too unfamiliar. Perfect for someone like me who doesn't want baggy or cropped tops. Have shopped at Nordstrom for many years, including this Montgomery Mall location. Had regularly come for basic Oxford shirts and occasionally shoes when workplace attire required suits. Overall it's been a pleasant experience with the most outstanding service along with an iconic, generous return policy, when things needed to be returned. While gone are the days of the live pianist providing background music at this location, I hope their world class service continues. Over the years, had same day service for alterations when it was urgently needed. Also, while I myself have returned unworn items bought at Nordstrom with the receipt way after 30 days, here's what my brother experienced a long number of years back albeit at another location: He had 2 years prior purchased at Nordstrom a pair of waterproof Timberland shoes that, after continuous wear, needed to be resoled. When returning to the store to have it done, the associate told him that they could not resole them and guarantee they'd stay waterproof. While they had the same model which he could exchange his worn shoes for, Timberland had shifted production for that shoe outside the U.S. and the Nordstrom team noted it wasn't the same quality as my brother's shoes that were made here - so they offered him the alternative option of getting his money fully refunded! Wow! It's an experience like that which have made Nordstrom special over the years. I had a fantastic experience shopping at Nordstrom during their Anniversary sale recently. It is so hard to rely on stores to have a lot of inventory in stock now that online shopping is so prevalent. I was amazed with how many options there are at Nordstrom and how attentive the employees are. I spent my time primarily shopping for bras. I don't have a size typically found at Victoria's Secret, Aerie, or standard stores. Nordstrom had my size in such a large variety of bra types and colors! Additionally there were many options for me on sale! I was so relieved to be able to try on my size in person and find the perfect fit. A sales associate in the lingerie department was very attentive and checked in on me often while I was trying things on. She offered to find me different colors and gave input on other styles and brands to try. I also saw her constantly making sure the department was straightened out and was very impressed with how clean and organized the store is. I will definitely be back to Nordstrom to shop for items that need to be tried on in person. I am so thankful a store like this still exists in this modern age of online shopping. read more

This was one of the most deliberately obstructive and dismissive customer service experiences I've ever had at Nordstrom. I returned to the store for two straightforward issues: 1. My original full-price purchase was never added to my Nordstrom account, and I still do not have the points applied or the purchase reflected in my account history. 2. The manufacturer later placed the exact same item on sale, and I requested a legitimate manufacturer price match with proof. Neither issue was resolved. I first presented the manufacturer's live sale price to Rigby at the customer service desk. She stated that she didn't think she could do that and said she needed to ask her manager. She then walked away for approximately eight minutes, leaving me standing at the counter as a line formed behind me. When she returned, she asked me what website it was, despite the fact that she had already held my phone and viewed the page herself. I repeated the information three times and reminded her that she still had not initiated any assistance. She then walked away again for another three minutes. At that point, I asked a neighboring associate if she could help me. That associate immediately recognized how simple and reasonable the request was. Manager, Jan, then arrived from the back office and approached the customer service register where I was being helped. I know staff members by name at this store, including Jan, and this was the first time I genuinely felt like a stranger in a store I have frequented for years. Jan explicitly told the associate not to help me and stated, in front of me, that they are not doing that and cannot help me with a manufacturer price match. This was not framed as a system limitation or a need for escalation. It was a direct instruction to block assistance. Jan then stated that Nordstrom only price matches competitors and never manufacturers, presenting this as absolute fact. This directly contradicts Nordstrom's published policy and appeared to be used solely to shut the interaction down. This incident did not feel isolated. The previous week, I visited this same location to have watches sized, a service Nordstrom routinely provides. The associate hesitated, asked whether the watch was purchased at Nordstrom, and when I confirmed it was--and even showed the Nordstrom shipping sticker on the box--she still walked away from the counter stating she didn't know if she could help and needed to ask a manager. Taken together, these experiences suggest a disturbing pattern at the Bethesda location: associates hesitating, deflecting, or disengaging rather than helping, and selectively deciding which customers are "worth" assisting. At this point, it no longer feels like isolated poor service. It feels like a new and unacceptable trend at this store--one where staff repeatedly pause, question, deflect, or disappear instead of helping, as though basic customer service is optional depending on who is standing in front of them. I have shopped here long enough to recognize when something has changed. What's happening at Nordstrom Bethesda is not just disappointing--it's alienating. People often forget the art of the soft sell. When I shop, it is normally for need. I rarely just go to browse. Thankfully, Paul was available in Men's furnishings to handle business for us. He presented a variety of options and left the choice to us. This made it not only pleasant to shop in a low pressure atmosphere, but also enabled us to make the right choices for us. I ordered my purchases for curbside pickup. I didn't receive an item, gift boxes were missing and product box was smashed.

I called Nordstrom's today to reorder some lingerie. After the operator connected me with the lingerie department, I was put on hold for 48 minutes. I reconnected with the same operator who again transferred me to the lingerie department. During an eight minute call, the salesclerk, who declined to identify herself, put me on hold three separate times. One of those times, she was in the middle of providing a style number. I contacted the store and waited for over fourteen minutes to speak to a manager on duty before giving up and posting this review. We went to the mens suit section yesterday June 8th, 2025. The gentleman who helped us was so nice, patient, and fun. It wasn't easy for him, he was literally helping 3 other people, the entire time. I don't know why it was so busy but Nordstroms, y'all need to hire more staff! He was also patient with us as we had an issue with our credit card and had to call them. Great experience. Unfortunately we were one of 'those people', buying a suit and needing it altered in a few days, so annoying of us, but the female tailor who helped us was SO NICE and said we could pick it up a day earlier than we offered. So nice!! Nordstroms please give these people raises and promote them! They were both so great! Also there's something wrong with the fitting room, it smelled REALLY BAD, like mold or something. I don't have trouble finding something in a pinch here however, making a return can be stressful. This review is for an ordered I placed online the evening prior to picking up said item from the comfort of my vehicle. I placed an order after normal store hours and around 10:00am the next morning I received an email that my order was ready for pickup. When I approached the store, I called the number located on my confirmation email and shortly thereafter my order was brought to my car. The only complaint about the process is the store telephone provided in the email did not allow me to connect the call automatically from email. I love Nordstrom, especially online. I've been here many times, but like most I forget to check in. I was looking for SKIMS. SKIMS is Kim Kardashian clothing line. Which is my new favorite lounge wear clothing line. I had a sales associate, didn't get her name, nor did she have a name tag, who I asked where was KK clothing line at, and she flat out told me we don't have any since before the pandemic (March 2020). Mind you, it's now January 2021. My phone told me otherwise. It was just a sad indicator that either she didn't wanna help, and or too busy. I decided to search on my own, and guess what? I found it! Now, Kim Ks line is pretty well known, and usually sells out fast. I found it the section. There were no labels to say this is KK clothing or anything, it looked a mess. The clothes its self is amazing. The only down size is her pants are too long, for us petite folks. In another section I found her undergarments, which feels amazing, however not in my size. The sales woman was shocked, oh wow, you found it?! I said nothing.. because she made zero effort to help me. I then went to the make up counter and had a better experience. Employees there greet you, and actually want to help you. MAC section is my favorite, I was able to find my favorite lipstick and was on my way. Overall, this location seems like its gone down hill. I tried shopping here again This week. I was completely ignored in the woman's shoe dept. I gave up. Went to the makeup department. It was very empty in the store. It was lunchtime. The makeup ladies were chatting with each other. Finally I interrupted asking about make overs and demos of makeup. i am very allergic. I asked if they has samples or they could try makeup on me and wear home and see if I had a reaction, since I have allergies to products. I was told nope! if I agreed to buy 2 items they would. I need to buy makeup for my adult children's wedding to bring for the hair and makeup artist. I prefer buying my own products. I was told for $60 they would do this. I'm extremely disappointed. Once you walk in, the Curbside section is to your left where the merchandise is shelved waiting to be delivered outside with a handful of dedicated Sales Associates. Nordstrom Marketplace Cafe is a hidden gem! While doing some post holiday shopping and checking out the deals, I noticed the cafe cater-cornered between the women's and kids sections on the first floor. In my hometown of King of Prussia, we have a Nordstrom Marketplace Cafe but I wasn't aware of it's existence at Montgomery mall. I was pleasantly surprised by the hostesses', Tieraney, her kindness and recommendation based on patron popularity (Spicy Shrimp Pomodoro). There was no wait time so I was seated immediately. All of there dishes come with complimentary dinner rolls with olive oil mixed with an olive paste- delicious! I ordered a refreshing Soulstice cucumber mint lime tea to drink. My waitress, Shiela, was equally as sweet and offered other recommendations as options. I went with my initial inclination and ordered the Spicy Shrimp Pomodoro. The Spicy Shrimp Pomodoro was amazing- it arrived at a fresh warm/hot temperature, the flavor is tomato based, includes tomatoes, kale and shrimp. The dish is pretty spicy but I'm creole and enjoy spices! The food didn't feel heavy and the portion size was perfect (not too big but enough to take home for later after I finish shopping). As a life-long Nordstrom supporter and card holder it hurts to have to write this negative review. Nordstrom use to OWN customer service!! They set the gold standard, other companies modeled their customer service after Nordstrom. Not anymore! Not only was I disappointed with the lack of inventory in the women's dress department, but I walked through three departments to get there and not once was, I greeted by a single employee. I meandered through intimates looking at bras, then shoes & cosmetics and not once was I greeted by a sales person. Not one employee asked if I was looking for anything in particular, asked if I needed help finding a size, no one approached me at all. When I arrived in the dress department, I had to finally approach a sales person and asked where I could find women's dresses, work attire. He pointed to two racks, and said "we have the brand Theory over there," he then returned to whatever papers he was shuffling through. I looked through the racks not once did he say "can I help you look for a size? Are you looking for a certain style? If you dont find it here perhaps we can look online...." Nothing. I left the store. I probably won't be back ever. I recently started a new job and was looking to really build my wardrobe and spend quite a bit of money. I feel like this store offers a variety of fashion styles that are typically in stock and can be found in inventory. However, their makeup counters tend to be out of stock in certain foundation shades (insert side-eye) and other miscellaneous products, but in true Nordstrom fashion, items can be ordered online via the store. Customer service is helpful..not overtly enthusiastic but considerate. Parking within the garage can be a bit of a hassle, unless you don't mind parking a little further away from the store. So, I love perfume, particularly the Tom Ford's Neroli Portofino (actually, I'm quite obsessed with it). I've always been a fan of Nordstrom's, but I find this particular location in being my most favorite. Why? All because of Ms. Vernetta Schools in the Fine Fragrance department! She's the TF Ambassador, and knows the private blends down pat! She also has great recommendations/suggestions in terms of layering the scents, which I never even thought of doing. She was so approachable, friendly, extremely helpful, and has a great sense of humor. Best of all, Nordstrom price matches (YES), so work it all out with her! Two words: TOP SHOP! I am obsessed with top shop in general so when I found out this Nordstrom's has an ENTIRE Top Shop section I had to check it out. First, the entire store was extremely clean. Typically, my experience with department stores a lot of the employees have an attitude like they hate their jobs. Not the case here! They were happy to help. Now, Top Shop had a wide variety of options. Dresses, coats, jeans, sweaters. All the rave for fall fashion. Second, I stopped at the MAC counter. Let me say, I DREAD going to Mac because I fear the judgement I will get from the employees. This is nationwide. Any MAC I have been to I have felt not good enough to be there as if they don't work on commission. Not this counter!! I was greeted by a lovely woman named, Casey. She was sweet and bubbly. I knew what I was looking for but decided to look around for other items because I felt so welcomed. I was then greeted by 3 other employees. I couldn't believe it. Although the counter itself is a bit disorganized and they didn't have some of the items I wanted, I will for sure be returning and recommend it to make up lovers. Third, I stopped by the fitness department. Again, pleasantly surprised by how kind the woman who helped me was. I couldn't find my size and instead of saying oh we don't have it like I would usually get she checked in the back and helped me look through the aisles even after I told her it was okay. All in all, this is a GREAT Nordstrom's. I have frequented a lot of malls and department stores and this is by far my favorite. I love MAC's selection of lip products and I had a sense of what I was looking for. With that direction, the MAC rep pointed me towards a few appropriate selections and explained to me the difference between each. I also finally dove into the potted eyeliner club. It was way over due. For a woman (and some men), new make up products can make you feel brand new - even if it's just a muted lip gloss, it can pick up your whole stride. At some MAC counters, the products are disorganized, or a large selection is missing or out of place. At this counter, everything was neat and in order. Like all Nordstrom's, they host a Spring and Fall Trend Show where all of the cosmetic departments come together and do a "run way" show to introduce what's hot for the season. They also host various events throughout the year as well. They have a cafe for snacks, beverages and light food options and the staff is always friendly throughout the store. I'm a MAC girl so when I had a question about a product I was directed to Jane and she was extremely nice and helpful. You would've thought we knew each other for years. I've also had the pleasure of meeting the store manager and she was friendly and helpful as well. The selection of women's clothing and shoes are very abundant. Nordstrom used to be the creme de la creme of upscale department stores, and it was actually with no small amount of pride that Montgomery County attracted stores of this caliber to be anchors in the various malls in the County. This location is almost always clean and sharp, and the service used to be legendary (as was the shoe department!) You could always guarantee you'd find something beautifully exquisite and unusual here, and the highest of quality. But over the past few years, this location at least seems to have gone downhill. The other day I needed a cocktail dress for a black tie event. Very sparse selection (especially for petites). I thought I'd at least be able to get a pair of shoes right? I mean, Nordstrom's shoe department has been legendary for decades. Right? Wrong. The shoe department is small and lackluster. It's a pity. I hope this location turns itself around (especially since the PRICES are quite high by comparison to Macy's just a short stroll away. read more

The associates @ this service bar have been engaging, helpful & informed in my experiences. This service bar is very convenient. It is worth noting remember to bring your "Order Number" for pick ups sometimes items are bagged separately. It will help the Nordstrom associates expedite pick up. The first time I called after going thru that ridiculous phone tree I was transferred to the requested department and the phone rang for 9 minutes and no one pick up. I tried again and again it rang for 9:15 minutes and again no one answered. I tried again for a 3rd time and when the operator who identified herself as Loretta or Lori answered and said kept talking over me and said she will transfer to the manager and again no one answered. The last time I told the operator that there was no way that the store is that busy that someone cannot answer the phone. I also advise her that I am going to give them a horrible crappy review. But what is obvious from the Nordstrom response is it's pretty much a form or stock response which is completely meaningless. To be polite, I sent a chat message to customer service advising that they should reach out to the store manager who was involved w/what transpired but since this situation ceased to be my problem several days ago, I did not feel compelled to elaborate. However, the very fact that I received that automated email only served to further convince me that the manager involved was derelict in closing the matter & coupled w/tthe Nordstrom response here on Yelp only solidified why I am no longer a Nordstrom customer & never will be again. read more

Nordstrom Montgomery Mall has changed a lot recently and not for the better. The store no longer carries any plus size clothes at all in the store - I was told they expect you to shop online. This store also does not provide mastectomy services in the lingerie department, which was terribly important for my relatives and friends who are breast cancer survivors. The shoes, handbags, and accessories sections have half the selection they once did. So they are no longer the full-service department store we treasured for more than 30 years and four generations. read more

Not coming back ever again Nordstroms. I won't even park and walk through your store. Your customer service has gone down the toilet. I tried to return a pair of boots that I bought online. The boots were beautiful but alas too small in the calves for me. I couldn't even get them on past my ankle. The first sales associate said they looked worn in the heel, then they brought out the manager and a million other associates to inspect these boots. The manager said she would return as a one time courtesy. Excuse me? A courtesy? I informed her that I never wore them and this is the condition in which I received the boots. Maybe they should do better quality control before shipping out goods so customers don't have to go on trial every time they need to return something. Bye Nordsucks! read more

Absolutely love this store! Excellent customer service, great displays and super cute stuff! My favorite areas to shop are BP and POV on the first floor :) I find that BP always has a great selection of deals and specials, which is awesome! I also love the boot collection on the first floor - bought the cutest imaginable pair of also boots recently..! I usually park in the side garage and enter from the POV side to get to the mall, which means I always send a few minutes browsing around here before I head to the rest of the mall, lol! read more
