Absolutely packed on a Saturday afternoon. My wife and I went shopping for some clothes to wear to a friend's wedding. There was a big selection, and prices were reasonable. I just did a quick excursion to peruse the place and I saw some great deals and a decent shoe department. I liked that there was a section for bigger sizes that actually had nice clothes on the rack. Since I wasn't spending money I stayed away from accessories and sunglasses (new obsession) I have to come back during boot season and see what they have, but for now it's a typical department store outlet and if you have the time and patience to wade through stuff I'm sure you will find something good. read more

Usually crowded whenever I come here - doesn't matter if it's on a weekday or weekend. Selection of clothing is plenty, and I only like to come here to find shoes because of the prices. Biggest cons are the staff and the lines. Was looking at some shoes and an employee was in the aisle reorganizing and kept getting close to me, and loudly banging the shoes when he was putting it on the shelves. Didn't say "excuse me" and I figured he just wanted me to get out of the way. Also heard a lot of the staff complaining or bad-mouthing while customers are around. There comes a time in your life when you are willing to spend some extra dough on quality products and for me that is where Nordstrom Rack comes in. It is like a Marshalls/TJ Maxx on steroids and suitable for people who cannot pay the retail price for this crap across the street. I like the finer things in life but you cannot be rich if you do not live poor. There are some negatives to this store. Parking is like playing duck duck goose but you are always it. If you find a spot, park, regardless if its on the other side of the earth. Never and I mean never come here on a Saturday or Sunday unless you have popped some Xanax and had a glass or two of wine to wash it down. This place is a mad house and the lines for checkout are long. I find the best time to shop is during the week between the hours of 7-9pm. I'm always checking into this store. Nordstrom is great price wise for buying good quality shoes. I've had tons of great buys there such as a $155 pair of Timberland boots for $100 (with tax). I have even noticed Versace cologne for $40 which is a steal! However The clothes there are expensive, especially the jeans. I should preface my review by saying, I love outlet stores. You never know what you're going to find and sometimes you can find a great deal. Nordstrom Rack usually carries "higher end" brands that you would find at Nordstrom (duh). They sell them at around 40% off retail prices, but honestly you could get them at the same price at department stores with the use of coupons and combining them with sales. So the deals here aren't THAT great. Their clearance stuff is another story though, you can find some real gems. Unfortunately, their clearance rack is an absolute mess (sizes are all mixed up, non-clearance items are mixed into the racks, etc). Plus it can get REALLY crowded and that makes it even harder to find items in your size. They carry little-to-no home items, but there's a pretty large selection of beauty items. TONS of women's shoes and clothes and the men's selection isn't too shabby either. TL;DR: Overall, it's a great place to stop by if you're looking for business casual clothes for a decent price (without having to search for department store sales). read more

In my past experience shopping at Nordstrom Rack in San Diego, CA I would always find great looking sweaters, jackets and tops for great prices. And by great I mean $10-18 for tops, even sweaters. I have been to this Southpoint location a few times now, and find that the selection has more than often brands that don't fit correctly. The quality themselves don't always seem like quite a great deal for the price you pay. I always have a difficult time finding tops that fit me right (maybe it's just the current fashion?!). I don't mind not knowing brands, I just shop for what looks cute and fits right. But so many things don't fit comfortably. I am a medium size, but have a large bust, so those trendy satin-tops always seem to make me look like I'm wearing a bag. Sheesh. Anyways, I did recently did get a couple fun things yesterday :) It looks like their collection of shoes and bags looks pretty promising. I recommend their sweaters for Fall and Winter. I do plan on going again - though I think the best time is right when this location gets their new season shipments. Before all the good stuff disappears! read more

I am reviewing the online and in store platform. This place is awesome. You will always find a deal here. I find the online platform to be slightly cheaper than in store. However, after shipping it evens out. Come visit often as they change the inventory daily. If ur looking for a designer bag I recommend going here before anywhere else. You save money without sacrificing quality. If they don't have an item in the store, they can look for it in all of the other Nordstrom stores. As for myself, I'll stick with my own used or vintage designer products, rather than brave this hectic and disappointing environment again. Many college graduates live in the area due to being close to Duke, Central and UNC--they need work appropriate clothing, right? If you need a decent skirt and top you'll find it. The men's section also had a good selection of quality shirts. Trying on a pair of shoes from a particular brand might be helpful, but I would NOT buy them here. Please make certain that your new shoes are not MADE FOR RACK by checking their item number online-- paying for quality should be enough, but it is not. ********What isn't it good for?******* Buying discounted brands you're interested in. If I visit a Rack store I expect to find a deal, but I will not sacrifice quality for Nordstrom Crap's specious steals. Crammed with people, busy, noisy, but vaguely organized. Had to weigh in. Like others, I eagerly anticipated the opening of Nordies Rack just down the road from my house. But when I finally went, I found it overcrowded and crappily stocked. The racks weren't thin (surprising given the amount of attention they've gotten in their grand opening month), but they weren't designer either. Besides some James Perse cashmere pullovers and Theory suits, there just wasn't much going on. Especially in the special shoe section (other than some Stuart Weitzman's and Tory Burch). The outerwear section was worse. On a second visit -- a weekday afternoon, no less! -- I was shocked at how busy they were. Don't those shoppers know you can enjoy an infinitely larger variety of designer duds at outlet prices over at Saks Off Fifth in Morrisville (DVF, Mackage, Laundry, and more)? Even "The Runway" section at TJ Maxx in Durham does better -- I've actually scored an Emilio Pucci dress there! read more

Unfortunately, there is not much designer brands located (or stocked/placed) at this location. I wanted to venture out here to see the difference in demographics between my store in Columbia, Maryland and this store. Sadly, I was highly disappointed due to the fact that a NORDSTROM Full Line was directly across the road and yet, this store still lacked designer brands. I am a fashion hunter and have found my entire collection of designer shoes at Nordstrom racks and, therefore, I know a good store when I see it and nothing compares to the Columbia, Annapolis and DC locations. Ran into this store just to look around while we waited for the rest of our lunch party to show up for a restaurant nearby. The store has alot of selections in many sizes, colors and styles. Something for everyone and every budget. Clean store inside and entrance way outside. Changing rooms tidy, and well kept. I love this store. It has a good layout and it's clean. There's tons of stuff.... I found a few cute dresses but also found a BCBG dress that was torn :((( I had to go to the bathroom and the lady took my clothes from me and I came out and she had a dressing room ready for me- that was good service. I was worried the clothes would get put back. Pretty good prices on some things but then there are more high end "unwanted" clothes that are still $100 bucks at least. Always super busy. You can find some great deals here though!! You do have to pick through a lot of stuff sometimes though. The only thing I don't like about this location are the fitting rooms. They are so small that you can barely move inside them. They need to be bigger. I have found some great stuff at Nordstrom Rack. However, there is still stuff that they have that is the same price as Nordstrom too. If your big on designers and know what they retail for vs what Nordstrom Rack sells them for then you will know if your getting a great deal or not. it's worth a stop for sure. read more

Good, if you know how to shop. I scored a pair of Theory wool trousers for $60 (down from $300+!) in May. No one shops for wool trousers in May, but I knew these were a classic and amazing quality I will wear many years. You can't go in to NR looking for anything specific, you just have to let the bargains be discovered and you have to go frequently to see what's in. Highlights-- sunglasses, hats, activewear and designer sections. Negatives: I don't like that they sell inferior items there that Nordstrom would never carry, but I'm getting better at weeding those out and only buying the good stuff. Plus, I hate seeing $200 sweaters bagging and dragging on hangars, ruined for everyone. Agree with others they do have better customer service than most stores of this genre, and I love I can get Nordstrom rewards points! read more

Well I must admit I first heard about this place from my doctor during one of my visits. He mentioned they'd have the same type of stuff in nordstrom just at a much more reasonable price. I was a bit doubtful at first but he told me " I should know because thats where I go all the time" so trust me. Figure he's a decent enough doctor so I'd go check it out. Certainly was true, kind of a JCPENNYish pricing but clothing styles and everything was exactly what i was looking for. Heck even got some customer service while I was at it. He fitted me for a shirt then told me if I ever needed a driver I could hire him. Maybe thats a new service they offer they'll pick you up to go shopping there? idk. read more

I'd rather give this 3.5 stars, but I'm rounding. First, after reading the reviews it seems people are expecting a smaller scale nordstrom. This is an outlet, which are usually leftovers, out-of-season, sometimes damaged items. Don't expect anything more. If you're an outlet shopper, this is what you expect. It's nothing glamourous, but they do have some good deals on certain things. I haven't perused the clothing racks because it just seems too daunting and maddening. I do check out racks that are labeled with the designer I like. 3.5 stars because they have hanky pankies, socks, and some designer shoes at a much lesser price and that's what it's all about. Mix it up with some good customer service, a fairly organized and clean store and the fact they'll email you your receipt, and you get an "a-ok"-I'll go there maybe 3x a year rating. Personally I'm a TJ Maxx girl-- they have more than just clothes and shoes. The difference is I think at Rack, their designer labels are more consistent. If I know I want some Havana flops, some spanx or certain brand undies, or are maybe looking to find a steal on some high fashion shoes, I'll be certain rack will have it. read more

I was here with someone else who was here shopping (noy my cup of tea). I overheard two employees who were on the floor doing something with the clothing loudly complaining about their job. They were talking about how they feel like they were treated unfairly because their hours were reduced for some reason and one woman said that they were treated unprofessionally. Ironically, their behavior was also unprofessional because as an employee who deals with or around customers you are never supposed to be heard complaining about the company. Personally, I strongly dislike this because I worked with customers myself at several different previous jobs and I had to leave my feelings about things at the door, and when I am the customer I expect employees to do the same. read more

The selection was minimal compared to other locations I've been too. Very disorganized by size and brand. I tried to buy a pair of shorts that were originally $40, but they did that price check wrong and claimed their price was $49. It also took them at least 20 minutes to do the price check. I like shopping at this store. I bought a pair of shoes. Buyers beware. Nordstrom Rack changed its return policy a few years ago. I say this because if you buy a pair of shoes and you wear them one day and return them immediately because they don't fit, the store may not accept them. In the past, they did. I now cautiously buy shoes from Nordstrom Rack. I don't want to get stuck losing money on shoes that don't fit. Many of their shoes are used anyway and are being sold as returned shoes because they didn't fit others. The handbags were also of interest. Deep cuts. Plus size clothes were moderately priced. We eat at the Nordstorm cafe in every city we visit. This one in the Sandpoint mall is by far the best. The portions are perfect. The presentation is beautiful and the food excellent. Love the Resturant layout! It is noisy like all the other Nordstrom restaurants. read more

If you haven't been to the Durham Nordies Rack lately, you're missing the great deals!!!! Went in tonite looking for shoes, never got past the HUGE clearance section....found a bunch of cotton cardigan sweaters on "last chance" rack for 85% off the reg price of $9.97!!! They came to $1.50 each!!! Sanctuary cargo pants for $12!! Kate Spade sequined sweater for $23!! OMG, the deals are MUCH better than when the store first opened & they didnt even have clearance yet. Oh yeah and Guess and Miss Sixty wool coats for $30. Unbelieveable.......it's also cool that all their salespeople are uber nice & helpful. read more
