If I could rate this 0 stars I would, they don't even deserve a star for the poor excuse of "customer service" I just received. I bought a t shirt on tax free weekend as a gift. I failed to realize that in the shirt there was a hole over an inch wide. I went back the following Wednesday and wanted to do an even exchange. They told me I would have to pay the tax difference since it isn't tax free weekend anymore. I find it ridiculous that I would have to pay for a damaged product they sold me. This review applies only for the men's offerings, I can't pass judgement on the women's sections. The men's shoes selections is pretty good, I've bought dress, casual, and athletic shoes here at good prices and people do notice when I buy shoes and they ask me where. So 4-5 stars for shoes. The accessories section is strong with reasonable prices.So 4-5 stars there. The bulk of men's in any clothing store , though, is shirts and pants , whether casual , business , or athletic. The prices are outrageous, even with their famous "Rack" prices. Before the Rack went national in the late 1990s, and before they arrived in Texas just a few years ago, you could actually get amazing deals on men's clothing. Back in the late 80s and throughout the 90s, I would be able to dress fairly decent on occasion after visiting a Rack in southern California (its a Seattle store but they arrived in Calif very quickly ). The good men's deals are gone. Unless its shoes, I don't waste time in this store, I guess I'm still stuck in the 80s. Or 90s. read more

I am a loyal Nordstrom shopper. I go here to find myself cheap but fashionable clothes for work and for play. Today i was successful in finding work shoes. Coach loafers for $49!! Previously were $195. I feel like i got a good deal. I love it when they have a sale on clearance items. I RACK UP! Literally.... LOL...But i got some jeans from my fave place. My only pet peeve is the lack of associates on the registers during events and on the weekends. They know there is gonna be alot of traffic but don't put people there to help out. But i will remain a loyal Nordstrom and Nordstrom Rack shopper. read more

The workers here are on slow motion. Allow 30 minutes for check out. I don't want anyone to get fired but the check out employees need training badly. Also the first time I tried to go it was closed due to a power outage. No sign explaining. Why not put that on the phone message? I had to call the store at the Rim to find out. Racks are too full of stuff but did find three nice items. Next time I'm in town I'm sticking wth the Rim location. read more

I work for retailers, so I get it when there is a lot of traffic with minimum people to help. I called just to ask if there were items similar to a particular style I was looking for. I was thrown back and forth to different department repeating the same question I had earlier. It just didn't feel like good costumer service. 20 minutes later I decided to hang up because I was being put on hold for so long. read more

I am saddened to read about the negative reviews. I spend enough time here to overlook minor details on any particular (busy) day. The employees are stellar, I've never had a problem with any staff. Even on tiresome and long days, I am observant and they are consistently working the floor in their perspective area/departments. I shop here because I love a good deal, and rather than paying retail price at a Nordstrom, I opt for the rack as long as I can find what I'm looking for. It is not subpar to Nordstrom but it is the rack for a reason and I would encourage people to have a clear understanding of the differences in retail between the two. So, here's my beef with the new Rack at the Quarry--they have a little bit of everything but they don't have enough room to really offer a big selection. If they asked me (but they didn't) I would have blown out the shoe department and any other top selling items they have at the La Cantera store instead of trying to add a tiny section for each department. I've been in a few times now and although I have made a purchase (and will continue to do so), I never find the item I am specifically looking for. I was super excited about this new location and unfortunately it has been kind of a let down. read more

I was in and out in less than ten minutes, so I didn't get the full experience, but I enjoyed it - here's why: There's a big dress selection, but it's all mixed together, so plan on spending your time sifting through racks. Good prices!!! This is the best part about this Selection - some clothing there... I'm shocked it was ever Nordstrom quality. Some of the items I saw were cheap or tacky styles. Great! Another way to go broke in Alamo Heights! Besides always spending my cash at the yummy foodie places and fitness gear in the quarry they've now opened up a brand spanking new nordstrom rack?! I'm secretly doing my happy dance at the laptop. I checked this place out with my friend and we were literally in fashion heaven. What I love about this place, is that it has just about all the labels I want. Yes, it's a brand new store so of course they're going to be in stock of everything but it was just so nice to see free people clothing in my size, burberry boots, tori burch shoes, etc.. not just finding coach only high tops like I usually do at the Nordstrom Rack at the Rim. Not to mention, this place has 2 floors of retail therapy. read more

I was visiting San Antonio and needed a pair of shoes for an interview in the morning. I saw the shoes from the 2nd story window, and thought I'd stop in. There was a decent selection to choose from, and I ended up walking out of there with a $90 retail pair of shoes on clearance for $5. Yep, that says FIVE BUCKS! I checked out some of the purses and other accessories while there, and found some cute stuff, but what did it was the staff behind the counter. She was professional, friendly, and fast! When I visit San Antonio again, or relocate there, I'll be returning! read more

The makeup selection isn't that good and honestly i wasn't that into the clothing selection either. I come into the stores normally when I'm walking around with my friends and a lot of the time I dress very feminine but since its becoming cold, I'm dressing less feminine. I have short hair and today I dressed very warmly because I'm anemic. Today I noticed workers giving me suspicious dirty looks and staring at me. It doesn't feel good to be judged in such a way especially when I have this short hair because of a disorder and I dress so layered and covered because I'm anemic. I just hate feeling so studied. The workers should have a lesson on tolerance and not be so judgmental. read more

I visited this store for the first time today and liked it. You really have to look, but you may find a treasure between all the not-so-good stuff. Their jacket selection is pretty good. I saw a lot of MICHAEL Michael Kors and Tory Burch jackets. Their shoe selection was pretty unimpressive. I saw a lot of Jessica Simpson and not really anything that stood out (nothing from the aforementioned designers, for example). I did see some Hunter boots in the clearance section, however. The place does earn some points because I found a nice black Calvin Klein coat for $39.99 (retails at $178). In essence, it's definitely a solid place to buy some things, but not if you're looking for brands that you usually see at Nordstrom. If you're looking for premier designer attire, go next door to Saks OFF Fifth. read more

I love Nordstrom Rack and go to one every chance I get. This store has a great variety and a large children's department (which is often not the case). Everything would have been great had everyone one been professional. Kiara who rang me up was very kind and enthusiastic. The young lady next to her however seemed over it and was very dismissive. I walked around the corner eager to check out and I made eye contact with a young lady with blonde hair and an oversized beige sweater. She frowned and rolled her eyes as I walked up. Kiara then said she would help and was very friendly the other girl however, stood there and picked at her split ends and seemed completely put out because I was there and interrupting her conversation by buying something. I will be back to the store in the future but everyone needs to remember a smile goes a long way and picking your spilt ends where people are buying and trying on clothes is gross. read more

I have not had much luck with shoes at either location the Rim, I wear a size 11 narrow and it seems like you are viewing the same shoes over and over at both locations. Hopefully the store will attempt to get more of a variety of widths. read more

This is a great store in a great location (The Quarry). I found several great quality shoes here at Macys prices! Every inch of the store was clean and well organized and I had no problem finding what I was looking for. Sometimes you can also tell by the type of people that frquent the establishment what kind of place it is and Nordstrom Rack was no different. I really expected to find outrageous prices but there were tons of great buys. read more
