I ordered a pair of Stuart Weitzman shoes online because they seemed like a great deal. When they arrived, it was obvious why, they came with no shoe box, no stuffing, and looked like a returned display pair. To make matters worse, the price sticker on the shoes showed they had been marked $20 cheaper than what I actually paid online. The store would only process a return and refused to let me repurchase them at the marked price, claiming it would be considered a "price adjustment" and wasn't allowed. So charging customers more than the marked price is okay? To make matters worse, the cashier, Ximena, was rude and dismissive. She scrutinized every inch of the shoes and the jacket I was returning as if she was trying to find a reason to deny the return. Lady, all the original tags and hangers were still attached. I experienced some disappointing customer service at Nordstrom Rack while I was shopping this week. I shopped for a while and found some winners. I went to wait in line to purchase the items and was hoping to find a different size in a pair of shoes I liked. The person ringing me up, Hugo, looked up the shoes and said they had my size available. He called for someone to go find them and said to wait at the register. He had already rang me up for the sweaters but hadn't charged me yet. I waited for about 5 minutes and then offered to pay for the sweaters so he could continue helping other customers (it was very busy and the line was long). I paid for my items and waited off to the side. I waited another 5 minutes or so and Hugo came over to let me know they couldn't find the size I was looking for even though it showed it was available in their system. I was bummed, but I understood and appreciated them taking the time to look. I told him I'd still be interested in purchasing the size I originally found. He told me I would need to wait in line again to make my purchase. I was very caught off guard. At that point I wasn't going to wait in the long line I had already waited in and waited off to the side thinking I was doing Hugo and the other customers a favor. They have a large selection of items at a great price. The store is clean and really well organized. This makes it easy to find whatever you are looking for. They have a lot of name brand clothing and non-brand name clothing, all at a great price. I ended up getting two t-shirts and a cashmere sweater. Their cashmere sweaters were a Nordstrom or Nordstrom Rack brand and were only $70. They had an array of colors and sizes so I will probably be back to snag another cashmere sweater in a different color before they are sold out because it's such a great deal. I always love getting a great deal and not overpaying for clothes and other items. All of the staff that I encountered were so kind and friendly. There was plenty of parking as well. The 'Active' section racks have a mix of athletic/training shoes & also all other types of shoes-sandals, formal & casual footwear etc., so finding the right shoes for me seemed cumbersome. I decided to go to a brand store, instead. The outlet is conveniently located, has ample parking space, is spacey and neat. We shopped this store yesterday, we were nervous of how messy and busy it would be since it was Black Friday. We arrive in the afternoon, it was a little busy, but it was not too messy. This has to be the most organized Nordstrom rack store I have ever shopped at. Clearance racks are not only organized by size but also in color order. They made it so easy to shop, I saw several employees recovering as we were shopping. We found so many goodies, that we decided to go back today. This morning the store was so clean and organized, I'm so impressed by how they fully recovered after Black Friday. The folks that work there are helpful and friendly. I've had some that were even excellent. Great selection of clothes...and assorted items. We find great women's and men's clothing...even open cloud sneakers. My Paige jeans look great and they were half off! Super clean store. The merchandise seems to refresh at least monthly. I love living up in wine country and shopping local/supporting small businesses but sometimes seek more variety. Nordstrom Rack is the closest thing we have to a department store up here and it offers name brands at a discount (the nearest Nordstrom is 45-60 drive south in Corte Madera). If you're willing to spend some time shopping/hunting, you can find some great deals. I've been a customer for the last 3 years and appreciate this clean, well-stocked store. I've noticed some brands disappear (can you please bring back Alo Yoga and Citizens jeans?). The store also changed its format in the last year or so to LONG racks/rows. If this change was due to Covid and the need for social-distancing/traffic flow, I get it. But the long rack/row setup feels a little more TJMaxx-ish and less Nordstrom-like (Don't get me wrong, I love TJMaxx too, but it's a different vibe). Hopefully this store will return to the previous layout again in the future. My favorite things to shop for at Nordstrom Rack: shoes, jeans, and workout wear/athleisure. I recently scored a pair of Adidas Stan Smiths for $28, a 65% discount! Other than women's clothes/shoes/accessories, they do have small sections for men's & kids' clothes/shoes and home goods (think sheets, pillows, decorative planter pots, picture frames). I also want to shout out the employees. They're always efficient at check-out. In-store purchases and online orders can be easily returned or exchanged within the return window. 4 stars for having a presence in Sonoma Country, as Santa Rosa greatly lacks in higher end clothing label offerings, albeit clearance items. It's also valuable in the ability to order from Nordstrom online and return locally hence no shipping costs. All right, full confession. I stepped in here to initially just use the restroom. However, I thought to myself ...I have a few free moments... I'll just do a quick walk about to check things out since I never shopped at this particular NR before. The store was clean. The racks were organized well enough, not perfectly neat, but these types of places never are. I zoned in on the women's clothing clearance racks, I did score a couple of items. I hustled myself into the dressing room which were clean & tidy. They were staffed by a nice gal providing me instructions and direction to the women's side. I made some quick decisions and bogeyed into the checkout line. Speedy easy peasy checkout. I got a Halogen cardigan for $15, retail Nordstrom pricing is closer to $50. These cardigans (which is a Nordstrom exclusive brand) are soft and hold up well through tons of machine washings. I also got a pair of ankle olive colored jeans for $30 (retail $50). Oh by the way, the women's restrooms were clean and well maintained. They are located towards the front left side near cosmetics. read more

OK I'm updating my review from several years ago obviously the growing pains have ended in Nordstrom's rack have found their place front and center. Now if only we can keep the businesses in Coddingtown alive they seem to all be closing pretty early they even turn off the lighting in the parking lot which is not safe for those of us who are shopping. My last few trips I have discovered if you gems including the items I recently posted, Kudos to the staff and management who run the store really well keep it very clean including the fitting rooms. Staff are always really eager to answer questions and help with whatever they can. Scored some really good deals recently on Birkenstocks a pair of cheap sunglasses for summer because I keep losing the expensive ones. Not sure what's everyone's problem is but this location is a great addition to the lack of decent shopping in Santa Rosa. With no BR, Gap, J Crew or high end department store this is really the only option if you need a dress urgently. I came here with my husband and scored a cute Rag and Bone tee, Paige denim and a few nice men's shirts. Yes, the store was a mess in some areas but that's what you get with these types of places. Selection wins. I was in love with the homeware section. Next time I need sheets, towels or a housewarming gift this will be my stop. We shopped, then walked over to the Whole Foods for lunch and had a great little SR afternoon together. read more

Staff served morsels to eat, giving away beer, wines and even s'mores. The clothing inventory is vast and mostly good quality (2 notches above Macy's), even on the men's side of the store. Prices are not bargain basement cheap, but the value ratio is fair. My wife bought 8 or 9 clothing items, a pair of shoes. I got 2 pairs of shoes. We were out the door for $300. This outlet is a welcome new upper end clothing retailer to the somewhat downscale, ramshackle and disappointing other big box haberdasheries in Santa Rosa, ie; Marshall's, TJ Maxx, Target, K-Mart, Ross, etc... ad nauseum. read more

After more than a year of leaving my initial review, this store's men's section remains to be overloaded with nothing but absolute shit. What's more amazing is the horrible quality of everything has only increased. More cheap, poorly made merchandise infects the entire space. I recently received a notice from Nordstrom Bank letting me know that after raising my credit card limit to $5,000 in October 2018, Nordstrom was now lowering it to $1,700. About a week later I received notice by all 3 credit agencies my credit score had been lowered by 80 points - and Nordstrom was the only activity on all 3 agencies' reports in the last 3 years. Fuck you, Nordstrom. As retail quickly dies all around us, Nordstrom gets greedier and greedier. And the fish stinks from the head down - again, fuck you, Nordstrom. read more

Cole Haan, Lucky Brand, Toms, Susina, Uggs, Report... You get about 1.5 or 2 aisles worth of shoes per size. Okay, maybe it's first day, but pretty good selection so far. Women's clothing: I saw a lot of Abound clothing, some Free People, Hudson, Jolt, Alternative, Nike. Plenty of workout clothes. // If you love Free People's thermal cuffs, I highly suggest grabbing them NOW before they go out. I am familiar with the pricing for that shirt and this is the best deal you'll find over here. Men's clothing: totally beats the TJMAX across the street. I picked up some plaid shirts for my husband. They have brands like Obey, Vans, Levis. Sale clothing rack: one full rack of sale items per size. I saw a few gems that I really liked. Went to Nordstrom's rack a Coddingtown to return a pair of UGG boots that was bought for me as a gift to have receipt they wanted to give me $65 even though I paid 99 for them they said because it's over 30 days they wouldn't give me the full price they want to give me $65 when I didn't agree to that the so-called manager laughed at me and her employee and her employee was happy that I was upset so I didn't return them. I have shopped at this location multiple times. I also don't understand what people expect at a discount store, it's all about the hunt for an item. I have worked retail many years!!! I have also shopped at ROSS and Marshalls and Macy's. And have also had people down my neck when trying to shop, I've noticed that a lot of women shop that way! And it's annoying. As for the selection it sounds like that's a "company buyer" issue, maybe more of a variety needs to be chosen, As for the items they do buy for this location they are always the up to date fashion trends. Just less of a selection. But that's what keeps people coming back. I DO agree that, things should look better, I have seen multiple employees on the floor, but not doing much cleaning. The BATHROOM is disgusting!!! Always over flowing with paper towels and smells gross every time I've used it. I think the following would help out this location! 1.) better buying selection 2.) more employees cleaning in each department let's say 2 employees per department or a set of 2 or 3 people walk through each department and clean. 3.) one should not walk into a retail store! And expect your whole day to turn around because of employees... maybe because you got you're retail therapy in. But seriously. If you're NICE you'll see NICE in other people too! 4.) As for complaints about loss prevention, they are there to do their JOB, deter theft. Let's talk about the racial profiling that happens at this store under the management of Lea & Lara. Two white women, who most likely think that because they are women, they are apart and understand what racial profiling is. As I was walking through the store to buy a new pair of running shoes I was followed and then repeatedly eyed down by an employee who was fiddling with shoes with no regard to ask me if I needed help, or if I had found the correct shoe size, or what I was looking for. When brought to the managers attention that the employee was obviously profiling my appearance as someone who was attempting to steal shoes, she gave me the most white non-understanding answer which was, "I don't want to minimize your experience..., but he was probably sizing the shoes." A.k.a. I'm going to minimize your experience by telling you he was sizing shoes, even though he was only touching the same box of shoes the entire time, and I'm gonna pretend that I didn't tell him through his walkie that had an ear piece to follow an African American guest in the back of the shoe section. Lea or Lara, if your thinking to yourself in this moment after you've read this and gotten my letter of formal complaint, that you have black friends, so you couldn't possibly have made that assumption. Have a long talk with Jesus about your ignorance and how to fix it. Had high hopes for this location as other Nordstrom Racks we have been to always had merchandise that was appealing and were good value. After a few visits to the Santa Rosa store We can't believe the drop in quality compared to other Racks. It almost seems like there is totally different clothing not at all affiliated with Nordstrom. Also it was much smaller than other Racks and there really was not a lot of selection. For the ladies out there, I asked my wife for her thoughts and she said the Women's department was even worse. They took what was a few years ago the best men's clothing store in Santa Rosa and turned it into another Ross. I was in there recently and they had virtually no suits, no sweaters, no sports jackets, and only a handful of very tasteless men's shirts. A few years ago, they had racks and racks of quality men's suits, tasteful designer shirts and sweaters. Things have really gone downhill here. The clothes there are now cheap in quality and it seems like the men's section Which used to be almost half the store is now a tiny section, with what feels like about 80-90% of the store for women. Whoever is doing the purchasing or managing inventory needs to go back to Ross, so they can bring in somebody who actually knows how to make this a quality store again. read more
