On further review, I realized that I was too harsh in my original assessment. The women's selection is evidently better than the men's. (I'll let others decide for sure). I love going to Nordstrom Rack. First off, if you don't like Nordstrom or appreciate/want to buy brand name labels, the prices might not be worth it to you. I love Nordstrom and occasionally like to splurge on designer stuff, so this is my place. For example, I was looking for nice suits for work, they have Calvin Klein suits for $99. They also have a good selection of large size shoes (both general brands and high end names), for women and men. I love hitting them up at the end of a season for a great deal on a winter coat, or a special occasion dress. The parking is ridiculous, but just park over near the closed Borders, or across near REI/BreadCo and walk over. It's pretty much a TJMaxx, no doubt, but if you're looking for good deals on BCBG, for example, or you're a guy that likes designer jeans/shoes, this might be for you. They also have jewelry and cologne, select fragrances, and a section with discount makeup, Stila, etc. Oh, and the lines are long, but they always have plenty of cashiers. Happy hunting! read more

I wasn't sure what to expect when I walked into Nordstrom Rack. The opinions I have heard have truly spanned the spectrum. I have heard that they have a great men's selection, but the women's is horrible. I have also heard that neither is good and that you have to dig and hunt to find anything. I was pleasantly surprised by the number of brands that I recognized and like. When I shop at TJ Maxx or Marshall's, finding decent stuff is like looking for a needle in a haystack. I usually have to literally look through piles of junk. I didn't feel that this was the case at Nordstrom. I saw clothes from Calvin Kline and Tommy in styles I like and in my size. They had $100+ Lucky Brand jeans for under $40. I ended up grabbing a $200 dress shirt for $70, a $50 CK scarf for $20, and a $30 3 pack of tshirts for $15. I was happy with my purchases and having a Groupon helped as well. read more

I have been counting down for the day Nordstrom Rack opened since I moved from SF. I was skeptical at what the selection would be like in terms of designers and quantity. I've noticed other discount retailers here in the area don't carry nearly as much high end designers as the coastal stores do. However, I was pleasantly surprised to find an abundance of designer jeans, shoes, purses and just about everything else I don't need but want. Just a note: the rack is not and will never be as cheap as stores like Marshalls and Tjmax. You should never expect to find the same deals since the quality and brands are an entirely different echelon of fashion. read more

I'll admit that this isn't a store that I shop at frequently. In fact, I think it's a little pricey for what you get. So, why the 4 stars? Because I can always find something nice for my husband on the clearance rack. Also, when they actually have Nike tempo running shorts (my fav), they have them for a very good price. Holy moly Jeff Spacoli! I love Nordstrom so I HAD to stop in here and as I suspected, I came out super happy. First of all, I typically won't pay $70 for a shirt so when I can buy name brands I love, I jump at the chance to get them half off. I bought a super comfy lounge cardigan, usually priced at $68 for $30...score. I then found a Lacoste polo for my husband for $25!! Yes, $25! Those babies retail at $80!! Double score. I LOVE the Rack! Think a slightly more expensive version of TJ Maxx and Marshalls. A lot of the items come directly from Nordstrom Full-line stores so you can get some dramatically reduced priced items there, including designer brands. It's also a little more organized than the racks of other clearance stores, which makes shopping a little more relaxed and not so chaotic. I came into this Nordstrom Rack with my expectations adjusted accordingly, as discount shopping (which I consider this to be) is by nature hit or miss. Well, I did not expect to find anything and ended up walking out with bagsfull of items - including a Kate Spade handbag. For what it's worth, the handbag selection here beat the selection at the Galleria Nordstrom - especially in the clearance/markdown department. I also scored a coup in shoes, with a couple of pairs of flats and a pair of Cole Haan red patent heels. The designer shoe selection isn't as comprehensive as the State Street Nordstrom, but then again, I generally just give that section of the store a cursory look. I was especially pleased to find a rack of Vince tops that, while still pricey, were a bargain compared to full retail price. A year ago I would have balked at paying north of $100 for what is essentially a t-shirt, but these are timeless silhouettes that will take me well into the fall. Finally, for those who are dismayed by the across the board lackluster selection of women's nightwear, this location has a few pleasant surprises. I am a fan of the Eileen West brand, and the nightwear section at this Nordstrom delivered. I look forward to a return visit, seeing as how this outpost is conveniently (but maybe not so much for my pocketbook) located so close to Costco. read more

NOTE: I shop here for makeup and shoes and occasionally Betsey Johnson handbags, never clothes. Nordstrom clothes are not my... bag. First and foremost, the prices on cosmetics here cannot be beat. I'm talking Urban Decay, Lorac, Stila, Too Faced, Tarte, all the greats for 50% or more off. Finding palettes here in particular is a great value. They even get unsold pop-up store stuff in here, like Cirque polishes. That said, the beauty displays are usually a hellish mess. I get the distinct impression that theft here is out of control because there are empty boxes and open, broken makeup absolutely everywhere. It's always busy in here so I can't say whether it's like that all the time or just during high-volume times. I've never had a problem finding an unopened version of what I want but it's worth mentioning that one must look for it. Based on those things alone I'd normally give it a 3/5, but the fact that this place accepts returns from Hautelook gets an extra star. read more

Nordstrom Rack is about as hit or miss as it gets. Some days it's on fire, other days not so much. Compary Nordstrom Rack to a regular Nordstrom is no competition at all, so I try to be objective when I'm in there, but it's hard, I'll admit it. Racks of clothing are never as artfully displayed or easy to navigate as in the Nordstrom department store, finding a certain item in your size is like searching for a needle in a haystack and finding a pair of shoes you like is akin to searching for the Fountain of Youth. All that being said, though, Nordstrom Rack does have some very good points. Everything is discounted from the original retail price, and I usually recognize at least a few pieces that once graced the floor of a Nordstrom department store. Also, if you're not looking for something super-specific and just browsing, you may stumble upon a gem of a top or dress more easily. Don't expect any of the items that flew off the shelf at Nordstrom to be here though, the Rack takes the leftovers, cast offs, and last season offerings to be sure. But if that's okay with you, you're willing to dig a little, and go back often enough to see the changes in inventory, you might just stumble upon a cute discounted Betsy Johnson necklace or that Juicy Couture tank top you had your eye on. read more

I really had no interest in shopping here, as I have been to other locations, and was not impressed went here with a girlfriend who wanted to check it out while we were waiting for my car's oil change near by. I think most items are over priced and the discount in not as generous as you would expect (just like Marjie T. writes), although my friend did really good, but she got mostly cute t-shirts....something she probably could have found at Marshalls or T.J. Maxx... The first thing that I noticed is that it is far more organized, well kept, compared to the locations I have been to in Chicago and Maryland. Words cannot express how happy I was when I heard we were finally getting a Rack. You see, I wear a women's size 12 shoes. Unless you have freakishly large feet like me you just can't possibly understand. Yes, I can go online and find a plethora of shoes.. but I can't try them on and I usually end up paying over $100 for shoes that get returned half the time. For the most part I am relegated to 2 columns of shoes at Payless and desperately searching for those little green stickers at DSW. Everywhere else stops at 11. Not Nordstrom!! They go up to a 14.. their size 12 selection is an entire back WALL.. their size 12's are shoes I actually want to wear. Plus, a few times a year they have a large shoe *event* catered to just us! Next one is in 2 weeks and I have it on my calendar. So I go in for the shoes and usually end up coming out with at least one other thing. The plus size selection is pretty small, but at least I get to look through something other than the same old stuff at Lane Bryant and the godawful rejects at Marshall's. I love looking through their dress selection too, they have some really pretty gowns at a fraction of the price. Do remember though, like someone else said.. don't go in expecting TJMaxx prices. They're still expensive pieces, just cheaper than shopping at a real Nordstrom. read more

Only giving this 4 stars because they didn't have what i as looking for (i.e. a nice shirt, it's hit or miss on the rack for Small, tons of stuff for "large and extra large"), BUT I did find a freaking new suit for a cut cheap price. I won't even say what it was as to keep the competition guessing, but let's just say that I was one happy camper. Bottom line - get there at least once a week, go with nothing in mind to buy, look for the best deal you can get, and chances are, you'll leave with something cool. After all, i went in looking for shirts and socks and walked out with a new suit. read more

This is just an ok Nordstrom Rack....I have been to other rack locations before and they provide so much! This location provides a nice variety but most of the time I walk out empty handed...maybe it's a good thing for my wallet I had that feeling whenever they first open that they won't have much for me. maybe it's because I don't have time to fish through every single frickin rack lol who knows. Friendly people that work here, great service! Lines move fast when they're busy! I just wish this Nordstrom Rack would be like others such as the ones out on the west coast lol...but I can keep dreaming! What I like that there's one nearby is whenever if order something from Huate Look, they're able to accept returns here since they're the same company now. Before, I would have to mail back and would be charged $9.95 for shipping. Anyways, It's in a great location! located right next to whole foods....you can do grocery shopping and actual shopping. Sadly, I'll have to agree with the other Yelpers who were really disappointed in this place. I was expecting some higher end clothes with a nice discount, but it is very reminiscent of a Marshall's. I'm not impressed with their selection of women's clothes at all, for the most part. I did find some decent bargains on workout apparel by Puma and Danskin. The shoe selection is pretty bad, as is their accessories, which is kind of surprising. I haven't spent any time in the men's section, so I'm hoping I might be able to pick up some better deals for my husband, who isn't as picky. And the parking situation was truly horrific on opening day, but that was a little out of the ordinary. It's calmed down now and it's normally not bad. The exception being around the holidays when Whole Foods is also packed. read more

So like many other crazy St. Louisans, I felt the need to go here opening day. Horrible mistake. Imagine women with the crazy eye standing in line for 40 minutes, miserable men holding purses and a spot in line while the women shop, employees pretending to be happy while planning on jumping in front of the parking lot traffic mid-shift. It was horrible and I refused to take part in it and turned around and left. A week later I went back and all the crazy had left and I could shoe shop in peace. The racks for shoes are so close together that only one person can go down single file at a time. Expand that section and fast because I spent an hour there touching all the gloriously amazing shoes and I will spend more there if I can see the shoes in a wide open lit space. Either way I walked out the door with two pairs of gorgeous leather shoes for the price one cost on zappos. So I felt good, the cashier gushed on my shoe choices (I do not care if she gets paid to, she worked it) and I went out the door...to that damn awful parking lot. Seriously, the worst part of this place is that it is next to the shopping destination of the world's most awful drivers and pedestrians, Whole Foods. I mean seriously, a woman walked smack dab into my rear passenger door and then gave *me* a look. So beware the crazies, stick to the shoes and you'll be fine. Nordstom rack in my opinion is a very good store to find deals however it is brand new. Myself and other "nordy" goers need to speak up and speak out about what merchandise we would like to see at the store. As a person that has worked retail a lot I know first hand that if consumers don't buy the high quality the stores wont continue get high quality items. Also I have noticed that its the kind of store you wanna check out often.I was there when some girls were putting out new hanky panky panties and by the time I had finshed shopping the majority of what they had put out was gone. As previously said, there was lots of Juicy here. Redken shampoo & conditioner were priced about the same as Beauty First. The Columbia & North Face jackets didn't have a lot of discounts. They had a lot of Michael Kors that were priced around $50. For me, that's a pretty damn good deal. There wasn't a huge selection of purses. I would only come back here to buy clothes & maybe a purse. read more

I dont see how this is a bargin. Yes, I have shopped at Nordstroms and I think the prices are always good for a laugh. However, this place reminds me of every other bargain bin store(TJ Maxx, Marshalls, Ross) peddling misshapen and out of market brand as name brand products on discount. My mom introduced this place to me while I was visiting for the holiday. The vibe was your typical after holiday hustle, no surprise there. What I was NOT expecting to find was the the overall poor quality in clothing at the price point offered. I realize this is a bargin retailer but arent these suppose to be the same products that at some point was found in the high end store? The shoes and clothes look JUST LIKE the things I would find at those other lower end retailers. While perusing the "clearing the racks" (clearance) sections i found the items almost insulting. Mens dress shirts that are paper thin and flimsy for $70? I can buy it new and better quality for less. Womens' coats? The sizing must have been mixed up with that of anorexic juniors sizes because no woman with any semblance of ta-tas could button those things. The shoes.... boxes with only one shoe in them or mixed matched pairs made the shoe experience frustrating. The quality of a lot of the shoes were equal to that of payless yet the price of Nordstrom. Well Ha! Ha! The joke is on you NR! I didnt fall for your trickery! We have these in Atlanta and I have never been. While I LOVE Nordstrom, I can, honestly, say I only love the Rack on occasion. It is absolutely not a place I can go when I HAVE to find something specific, such as a certain pair of shoes, clothing item, etc. I seem to have the best luck with accessories, kids' clothes, shoes, socks, and men's clothing. I also love their selection of Bliss body lotions/body wash, etc. I don't have much luck, though, in the women's clothing - every so often. Their dress department, fitness clothes and outerwear is better than the clothes, in my opinion. I browse through 1-2 times/month and sometimes walk out empty-handed, and sometimes spend $300. read more

I have NO idea how the other reviewer got "4-5 items for $100". I generally get two for around $150. This place is totally hit or miss (no surprise). Some days are fantastic....other days I couldn't find anything if my life depended on it. Women's shoes are mostly heels/girly stuff. Not great for sneakers. But if you go to the smaller men's sizes, you can totally score some cute Diesels or similar brands/styles for nearly half the price. I WISH TO GOD THEY WOULD LEARN TO CHECK FOR THE DAMN SECURITY LOCK ON THE CLOTHES. I use the word lock because it really is like a mini bike lock. TWICE now, I've had to go BACK to the store to have the thing taken off (after paying $100 for an item on "final clearance"). It's a real pain, since there is almost ALWAYS a line (try finding one of the "convenient check out" people who are supposed to be roaming the store...easier said than done). That's my only really complaint. I'm done bitching now. :) read more

This Rack isn't as good as the one in Chicago - however, if you know their strengths and adjust your expectations, it's a good little outlet. I have the most luck in their shoe department. Needed a pair of flats and found a really nice brand of black flats for about $60 - cheaper even than Zappos. Also, their other strength is the kid's department. I can find all sorts of cute items for my son in their kids area - polo, Burberry, Small Paul, etc. But the kid's shoes is my favorite area - you can find Stride Rites for payless prices. $14 kid's shoes? Hooray! My husband has luck in the men's clothing department. I've never found much in the women's clothing department so I'll keep going for shoes and kid's stuff, but I'm not going to plan to find anything for myself to wear. read more

Firstly, there is no way Nordstrom Rack can ever compare to Nordstrom. That being said, this location is very small, the parking is a nightmare, the staff while nice is clueless, and the merchandise is average at best.
