Ten years since my last review and I need to take a star away. I shopped today looking for a simple blue dress shirt. I only found three and all three were slim or trim fit. I am a relate built man and those would not fit. Being a clothes horse, I looked for other shirts, socks, jeans and underwear. To my disappointment, I didn't find anything. In fact, I thought the selection in the men's department was disappointing. I wont give up on this place, but this visit was a total displeasure. I love shopping here. I always seem to find something I didn't know I needed. It's kind of difficult to find clothes in your size because everything is shoved so tight on the racks, but be patient and keep digging. Sometimes I find lots to buy and other times nothing. It is kind of hit and miss. But love several of the name brands, like Free people and Madewell. It's a fun store to dig around in and a lovely surprise when you find a keeper! The customer service is LACKING. I came in for an online return, wasn't greeted, grabbed the box from me, ripped it open, scanned like she wanted me to get out of the place and yelled how much I was getting back on my card, printed the receipt and said have a good day with attitude. I get that it's the holiday season and customers can be rude, but having come from a retail background, you can't let that spill into the next customer or else you're just gonna have a horrible day all together. It says on my receipt that the woman who did my return was Chinaya S. My advice is go through the training again. Im sure nordstrom rack has a mission statement and values everyone should uphold. That or if you hate your job so much, find something else where you don't have to deal with people. It's that simple. read more

Although the store is sometimes over stocked if you have time to browse you will find something nice and affordable. If you do not have time to browse the shopping experience may feel overwhelming. I was able to find two pairs of jeans, shoes and lotion on this shopping visit. I know if I purchased the same items at Nordstrom I would not have been able to stretch my money. The accessories section was not easy to navigate, so many of the bags were on security chain lines and the noise coming from one of them was annoying and distracting. read more

I ordered shoes through their website. I had been hunting for a nice pair of simple black dress shoes for about six months. I found a pair of Magnanni Mario Leather Derby shoes in my size. It was a brand I knew to be high quality at a still hefty, but manageable price. The order was in process, and due to COVID19 I figured things were just delayed. They never showed up. A month and a half later I talk to customer service. It looks like they never actually processed the order (no way for me to tell that) and as a result no shipment order was sent to a storage facility. They are now out of stock in my size. The service agent was very nice and apologetic, but all they did was offer to allow me to purchase a shoe that was up to $30 dollars more expensive at the same price as my original shoe. There were a grand total of TWO black shoes this applied to, both of which were ugly and not at all what I wanted. What a joke. No "hey sorry about our screw up, here is a voucher or a credit you can use on any shoes." I will not be purchasing anything through this company again. They clearly do not actually care about customer service. The physical store in Brentwood is fine, and I used to have a high opinion of it. Very happy with the shoe selection at this Nordys Rack. Great Cole Haan offerings. The jean selection was good, but wanted to see Calvin Klein options. The downside? The line to check out was crazy long. The girls working the registers did not care about customer service or the speed of their work. At one point in time an employee came up, grabbed the LAST person in the check out line, and pulled them over to an "express checkout". What did I learn today? Business travel can present a multitude of different issues, some of which are self inflected like forgetting business shirts on a business trip. Lol. I guess I wouldn't be the first person to do so and I know I wont be the last. Well, I stopped by this Nordstrom Rack location for a few items and it was a breeze! Really enjoyed the location and selection of product. Service was great and the ladies at the check out register where funny to say the least. Ugh. This place is total chaos. There are many clothes just left on displays or on top of racks. Very unorganized. The checkout area is terrible! There are 4 cashier's facing the shoppers and 3 more perpendicular to those. People can't figure it out so they wave flags to tell you they are available. I've visited a few Racks and this is the worst one I've been in. There is stuff just everywhere and I feel like I'm visiting a hoarder. Management needs to step it up - clean and reorganize this place. I should give you a warning about the parking. Right next store is a Whole Foods and the lot can get crazy. Drive by all that and park away from there and you will be ok. read more

Great for socks, shades, tote bags, candles, workout gear and small makeup items. The walk of shame isn't as intimidating as most stores nowadays but there is one nonetheless; this is the section at the cash wrap holding all those unnecessary items the tempt you to splurge a little more before actually checking out. The wait is excessively slow in my opinion so I'm always looking for a quick out with one of the employees hold that little iPhone thingy that swipes my card and aids my getaway. read more

To be honest, the only time I go into Nordstrom Rack is when I have to go by Whole Foods right next door. I can't resist the urge to look around since I'm there anyway, and I have mixed feelings about this place. I think the key is knowing what you should count on and what you shouldn't. I'd never go to Nordstrom Rack with the intentions of putting together a whole outfit. It's more of an impulse-buy place for me... I sometimes find random tops or jackets I really like, and I've also found a few casual dresses. The thing is, you really have to sort through racks of pretty crappy looking clothes in order to find something that's worth trying on... that's at least been the case every time I've been there. I will confess, though, that the things I HAVE bought from the Rack are things I wear quite often! I do have one love at NR, and that's the shoe department. There's currently a hole in my wallet and it's due to some amazing patent leather pumps I recently purchased. They also usually have a great selection of boots & flats. One thing that does drive me crazy about the shoes are the huge Nordstrom Rack stickers they put inside all of them! If you're lucky enough to find a great pair of designer shoes you have to rip the sticker out and it leaves all kinds of gross sticker residue on the inside. Not cool. Other than that, I've find the Rack useful for yoga attire, jewelry, and sunglasses. They often have Marc Jacob sunglasses on sale which makes me a very happy Aimee, and if you head to the very front of the store they have tons of salon-grade hair products for half the usual price! After a bazillion months of hearing friends rave about Nordstrom Rack, I finally ventured into the store a couple of weeks ago. It was... fine. I have to stop listening when people hype places up. From all the hubbub, I went into Rack expecting fabulous deals on designer pants and the most coveted handbags ever. Normally, I don't care much about that stuff, but when people claim to have gotten the deal of the century on such items, yeah, my ears are going to perk up. Sure, it was OK. There were plenty of clothing choices in the women's section, a fairly large shoe collection and a calmness that I usually don't find in discount stores. But make no mistake: this is Nordstrom discounting, not Target discounting. While there are a few under-$20 finds hidden on clearance racks here and there, don't expect to walk out of here with an armload of goods on a shoestring budget. Even though I know most of the clothing is designer and preseumably well made, I couldn't bring myself to pay $80 for purple skinny jeans or $120 for a sleeveless summer blouse. The juniors' section -- the only clothing that fits my weird body, which is unfortunate because "pants" = "show your thong" and "dress" = "flimsy polyester sack" -- was rather small and hard to distinguish from other areas in the ladies' section. I tried on some colorful $20 pants and clearanced sundresses, but nothing fit properly. I was surprised at the amount of unsavory fabric in this section, too; I guess I thought that higher-end clothing would use better materials. Outside of the main ladies'/juniors'/people-with-boobs' section was a large array of clearance racks. These were in addition to the clearance racks that were within the boobs' section itself. Confusing? Yeah, it was for me, too. It was a bit overwhelming to see yet more clothes and without any categorization except for sizing. I became exhausted figuring out where to look around this part, so I gave up after about 10 minutes. The dressing rooms were clean and comfortable, though. There was plenty of lighting, and they let you take around 20 items into the room -- a nice change from the 5-7 that other stores allow. There were also signs within the rooms that detailed how much clothing alterations cost, and some were free with certain purchases. That's always a plus. The shoe section, while large, was obnoxious to get through. The aisles were way too tight, there weren't many benches for sitting down to try shoes on, and there were shoes and boxes strewn all over the floor, racks and seating. People were standing everywhere and hoarding shoes, too. It felt a bit like the first 10 minutes of a designer launch at H&M or Target. I witnessed a lady on a very slender mobile scooter try to push through the crowd to reach a pair of shoes but give up. I wandered through the hosiery and accessories sections. Even on sale, tights were more expensive than at TJ Maxx or Macy's -- and many were even the same brands. I found a few pair of $5 tights in crazy colors and patterns, though. Hats and handbags were rather pricey, as were the candles and personal/body items. My male friend had great luck, though, scoring a pair of boots, a pair of shoes and a jacket at some great prices. He said that because he buys specific leather shoes that last a long time, Nordstrom Rack works out great for him. The guys' section of the store also was a lot more calm, with organized racks and more spacious aisles. The cashiers were very nice when my friend was checking out. I love that the salesfolks can wear well-designed Rack polos and t-shirts instead of dress clothes. It makes them seem much more approachable and friendly, which was unexpected and nice in a store whose original concept was luxury. Nordstrom Rack won't be my shopping mecca anytime soon, and that's ok. I'll return with my friend from time to time, but I just don't think I'm the target customer for Rack or for the original Nordstrom. read more

Nice place to find some deals, however, checkout is rather slow and can get bogged down. Don't expect to come here and be in and out unless you come in right when they open, grab what you need quickly and head out! As far as their selection of clothes, I will give them a 4 or 5 stars especially their jeans. One can never have too many pairs of jeans and/or shoes so this place is somewhat of a shopper's paradise when it comes to that. I cannot speak to the men's section but the women's have quite a bit of stuff to get yourself lost in. They also have a few clothes rack with clearanced items organized according to sizes. It's great for someone like me because I hate having to go through random clothes to try to find my size! Ok, I hate shopping in general but it is also a necessity unfortunately. This place makes me want to shop for deals. The facility is generally clean and employees are helpful for the most part. They will usually leave you alone while you browse but are ready to help when you need it. I've bought some jeans (discounted Hudsons, TRBJ, AG, seven for all mankind, genetics just to name a few), tops, dresses, clearanced activewear and random little knick knacks on my way out. Nordstrom Rack is like a more expensive and more crowded TJ Maxx or Marshall's. I'm not into brand names or long lines, so I like it even less than those stores. I generally don't have much luck finding something my clothing style. Occasionally I find something appealing and then it's off to the fitting room. Unfortunately, the fitting rooms often have lines, which is something I can't stand. The checkout lines are often terribly long. But that's Brentwood. read more

The employees in this store are extremely lazy and have no interest in being helpful. They close the dressing rooms during busy times because they are lazy and don't want to work. Nordstrom is not what it used to be. I had a pair of shoes I wore for a couple of hours and were horrible and gave my feet blisters. I was traveling for work and came here from VA. The store policy (that is news to me is no return on worn merchandise). I spend close to $500 on all my merchandise and these were 1 pair of sandals I just wanted to return. ALSO the receipt had no image of this pair (two others on my receipt also didn't). I asked WHY no one at the other store would label these shoes CORRECTLY that had no image OR call the OTHER STORE so they could look up the shoes. Nope! They weren't interested in helping. I spent over $20 just for an Uber to get here because I'm traveling for work and was planning to spend more money here! NEVER spending money here or another Nordstrom since service is completely lacking!!! Done! read more

I found one I liked but there was no mate. I saw another but they were an x-small. You know how it goes. I tried on about 6 items in the fitting room and left with nothing. I went to the opening of this Nordstrom Rack this morning. There was free coffee, pastries, and bottled water available for those (like myself) that got there at 8am (in anticipation of its 9am opening). The person at the front of the line? 4:30am. To be perfectly honest, I was less than impressed. I've been to other Nordstrom Rack stores and I was expecting a plethora of designer brands and a wide selection reflecting such. No Gucci, Dior, Louboutin or whatnot. Lots of Juicy Couture, Cole Hahn, Kate Spade, and L.A.M.B. shoes, and a handful of Rebecca Minkoff and Botkier bags. Michael Kors had a presence, too. I guess what I was frustrated with was the lack of A-brands, but plenty of B-brands. The staff was friendly (especially my sales associate, Chad, who chatted with me about Nashville), and the store was clean (as it should be on opening day). I'll probably incorporate it into my shopping routine, but I don't think it's worth a special trip. What did I buy? Ten pairs of Honeydew underwear (I love them, and they were $3, versus $15!), two pairs of Cole Hahn shoes (they're cute and comfy, they're just not Gucci or YSL), one pair of really hot and high Calvin Klein shoes (yet to be determined if they're going back, but I have 30 days to decide), and a pair of Bruno Maglis. I come to this Nordstrom Rack every now and then when I'm in need of a particular item or just have some random urge to browse--a very rare occurrence. The thing with "The Rack" is you need to think of it more as a thrift shop. Their inventory is inconsistent and you have to dig to find what you want. With this being said, as a male, you kind of have to know what you are looking for. Most recently I did not find anything but I have bought many great items from here in the past. I think that the Men's section is less picked over than the women. Primarily since men tend to shop less, especially at stores where you have to hunt for things. It is a very reliable source for men's accessories and formal wear. They always have well priced ties/bow ties, belts, cuff links, and dress shirts. In general, they have a wide selection of brands (especially on jeans and pants). If you need a nice new pair of shoes and are looking for a good deal this is also a great place to start. The one in Clayton does seem to have a better Men's selection but not too big of a difference. Good luck on your fashion endeavors! read more

Heh. I remember when Nordstrom Rack had its grand opening. I remember reading stories about how the line to get in was super long. Like, Black Friday long. So when I stopped by the other day, I was expecting to be blown away. Well, actually, I wasn't -- I've read the other Yelp reviews about this place -- but let's just pretend that I WAS expecting to be blown away. I wasn't. At all. If you would have blindfolded me and walked me in, I would have guessed that this was a Marshall's. Or TJMaxx. Not that everything was disorganized or anything (because it wasn't), but just the way the store was laid out. While I did find a few cute things, I would never come here to do any shopping. I love food, not fashion; while my sister would probably love this place and happily drop $100+ on a pair of Joe's Jeans, I'm not the same way. This has become one of my favorite places to shop. Let me tell you why. - Organized. Clearly labeled by category, then by brand, then by size, then by color. - Always stuff on clearance. Which means, stuff marked down that's already marked down from Nordstrom's. They generally have high quality clothes for good prices. - I can always find something I like. This is saying volumes. - I opened up a Nordstrom Rack debit card today. Not a credit card. This has no fees and comes straight from my checking account. No catch. But I get rewards points, and free alterations. FREE ALTERATIONS. For this short, curvy girl, that is awesome. - Extremely friendly staff - professional, polite saleslady; chatty, smiley, helpful fitting room personnel, and a seamstress that fit me in (literally and figuratively) and hemmed my new pants tonight because I wanted to wear them for a job interview tomorrow morning. THANK YOU. This is my go-to place for clothes shopping. And this is a girl that ABHORS clothes shopping. So take that for what it's worth - a lot! P.S. I want to love Nordstroms Rack, however this store does not compare to the State Street store in Chicago. Yes, there are deals here. However I have never really been that impressed compared to the Chicago store. I think that we get what Chicago does not want, and they seem to add a higher markup here than in Chicago. For example on my most recent visit I saw I shirt, I don't recall the brand, which was on sale for $95.00, the original price was $245.00. Yes this is a great savings however the way they market themselves you would think you could get a better deal. I think the reason for the difference between St.Louis and Chicago is that, here they focus on the overall store layout and general order of the store. Where in Chicago, you actually have to do a little bit of searching for your item so when you finally find what you want it feels like you found a lost treasure. I typically tend to pass up Nordstroms Rack when driving by it here, but it always seems to be a must stop when in Chicago, overall this location is a disappointment. read more

I was so disappointed in this store. I only went because I bought a Groupon that I had to use before the end of the year. It took me forever to put together something that I liked to total $50 so I could get out of this store! The jewelry selection was small, the clothes didn't seem like the same kind of quality lines or styles as the store at all. The clothes seemed mostly cheap cheap. The kids section was also very small. I did see better options for baby girl dresses than boys. Shoes were still pricey but they did have some good lines. I just can't find myself going back for this store at all. It just didnt fit the quality of Nordstrom I expected. Id rather do the Nordstrom at West Co for sale items. The employees are nice. I find Nordstrom rack to be somewhat disorganized, a little messy, and usually not stocked with good items. I find it difficult to believe that Nordstrom actually carries a lot of the goods that are presented at the Rack. That said, if you enjoy a treasure hunt and don't mind often coming out empty-handed, this might be the place for you. It is certainly not anything remotely like the main Nordstrom department store. I'm not sure how I feel about this place. On the one hand, it's great to see all the ties and shirts and stuff in a wider variety of brands and colors than you'll find at T.J. Maxx or Marshall's. The merchandise is neatly organized, and there's plenty of staff to help. But the shopping experience feels crowded and rushed, not so different than Whole Foods next door. I suppose that if you're comparing the markdown to Nordstrom's, then you could be really excited to find something you had your eye on. But if you're comparing it to a sale day at Macy's, maybe it's not so exciting. read more

I really love Nordstrom Rack. This store had all the old standby brands that I am used to seeing at the other Nordstrom Rack's I have been to. Betsey Johnson, Smashbox, Urban Decay, Steve Madden, Free People, SmartWool, Brooks Bros, Fossil, all at discounted prices compared to what you would pay normally. I do wish they had more items for the home as they have a few sheets and pillows and that is about it....Otherwise it is just clothes and shoes some HBA stuff but I am a lady that likes to save $$$ so I will continue to go here and look around for stuff from time to time. read more

Pardon me while I channel my inner Shania Twain - ahem - "This don't impress me much!" Parking is very tight. The line in there was past ridiculous and into another realm of too damn long. And what they had to offer? PUHLEEZE! If you weren't careful you'd walk right past the dresses. The shoe department was alright but sorely lacking in anything worth buying. The brands were very limited and the pricing? You get better pricing on better merchandise at Nordstrom itself when they have a sale. Hell! You can find better prices on jeans at TJMaxx or Marshall's than here. I can think of no reason to go here. This Nordstrom Rack is by far the smallest one I have ever been to in my life!! I found it interesting that the shoe selection looked like Ross/Marshals. I am used to only have one shoe on display and you have to go to the back checker where they bring out the second shoe for you. This way you are guaranteed a pair and not struggling to find both pairs of shoes, like I did. The selection of clothes is very small too and the accessories. A very poor selection in general actually. This place has bits and pieces of everything but not enough to grab your attention and keep you shopping. I did end up purchasing a pair of shoes here. I still cant believe this is the only Rack in the Saint Louis area. I really think they could have done a better job at picking a bigger facility and housing more items. read more

I feel a lot of hate directed at Nordstrom Rack, and I honestly feel it's mostly misplaced. First off, this is not Nordstrom's. It's not. If you wanna go to Nordstrom's, drive on down the street, and have the credit cards ready. What I love most about Nordstrom Rack is that I can get off work on Friday afternoon, decide I have nothing to wear for the weekend (or maybe just haven't done laundry, but who's asking), hop on in, and walk out in less than a half an hour with something fabulous to wear for the evening. The selection is constantly changing, so when I go back the next weekend, all new options! I've honestly seen very few "designer" items here, so if that's what you're looking for, this maybe isn't the place. My average trip usually sets me back $100, and I can get 4-5 great pieces. I also love that they don't limit you to something crazy like 5 items in the dressing room, because honestly, you need to try on everything. I feel like a lot of items end up at the rack just because of awkward fit. My favorite thing about this place is the shoe selection. It's huge, and they're great quality shoes. I do not understand all of the negative reviews Nordstrom Rack is receiving! This is a conveniently located store that offers discount prices on otherwise fairly expensive brands typically sold at Nordstrom. The clothing and shoe selections here are abundant! They also usually have a pretty substantial clearance section. If you go to Nordstrom Rack, you do have to realize you will be sorting through mismatched clothing racks to find the cute items. That's just how discount shopping works! Some displays are well organized, but most of the clothing is simply organized by size. This store may not be the place to go when you're on the hunt for something specific, but if you've got time to browse and your heart desires a few new pieces, Nordstrom Rack is a great place to go! read more

Came to return an online order. There is a sign and a line for returns. Separate line for purchases. After standing in the return line for 10 minutes with several other people and no service, an employees tells us to get in one line with all other customers. That line had about 30 people in it. Had I known this upon arrival, there were maybe 10 people in the line then. There is no "customer service" at this location; they don't care. Corporate needs to review staffing and attitudes. I ended up walking out. I will drive 6 miles further to the other NR before I put up with this BS. read more

I also went to the opening. No, I was not one of crazys that stood in line at the butt crack of dawn! I mean it's a Nordstrom Rack for God's sake! I took a late lunch at 2 pm to check it out. It was a madhouse! Parking was a bitch and this was at 2 pm. I've been to Nordstrom Racks in other cities and always have been less than impressed. However, I thought I would check it out, thinking that they might bring out the big guns for opening day and have some good stuff. Boy, was I wrong. There was nothing there that was worth standing in the crazy long lines for much less dealing with the crazy parking situation. No real designer brands, except brands like juicy couture (yuck!), steven madden, michael kors, which don't count. All the stuff there was tacky!
