Leominster Animal Hospital - my foster

Leominster Animal Hospital

Anna the groomer does a fantastic job with sedation grooming my reactive small mixed breed dog. I…read moream a dog groomer myself and this guy is so crazy that I can't even touch him with the clippers, so what a relief to find another professional and friendly groomer who offers this service. If you do need your animal to be sedated for grooming, they will obviously require the assistance of the veterinary professionals here too, which means your pet will have to become their client first- so expect a prerequisite check up appointment. The extra sedation procedure will also add a corresponding list of charges to your grooming bill so don't be surprised by that. But generally, the whole thing was quite reasonably priced. Overall the veterinary staff are also quite professional and pleasant, even though I called them like 50 times and accidentally walked through their treatment area to get to the grooming office they were very friendly and patient with me lol

Everyone I have come in contact with has been warm and helpful! We also bring our dog to "Auntie Anna" for "Spa Day treatments" and we adore her and her staff as well. They obviously love what they do and take such wonderful care of our dog and I wouldn't go anywhere else! We love Leominster Animal Hospital! Thank you!

The Veterinarian Tech's were very nice and helpful with keeping my cat calm. I recommend taking your pet here if you are looking for Vet care for your pet!

I truly debated whether to write this review, but if it helps even one pet owner make an informed…read moredecision, it's worth sharing. This was my senior dog's first appointment. We arrived 10 minutes early, only to be told to wait in the car because the exam room was being cleaned. It was the middle of summer, and despite running the AC, I became increasingly concerned about keeping my senior dog comfortable and safe. We weren't brought inside until about 20 minutes after our scheduled appointment time. Unfortunately, the wait didn't end there. Once inside, we sat in the exam room for another 20 minutes while my dog became increasingly anxious, restless, and fearful. Staff came in and out asking questions, but the veterinarian didn't enter until my dog was already overwhelmed. Before the exam, I clearly explained that my dog is very protective of his face and can react quickly. I even brought my own muzzle to help keep everyone safe. By that point, however, after spending roughly 40 minutes waiting and building anxiety, he was too distressed to cooperate. When he managed to remove the muzzle, the assistant became increasingly forceful and visibly frustrated. The veterinarian then suggested using a towel over his head so they could listen to his heart and lungs. Instead of calming him, it sent him into a panic. Hearing my senior dog struggling under the towel, desperately trying to clear his nose and escape, was heartbreaking. I asked if there was anything I could do to comfort him, but I was immediately told no because of insurance reasons. In the end, they couldn't complete the exam and recommended gabapentin before attempting another visit. I left with a senior dog who was frightened, hypervigilant, and completely shaken by the experience. I understand that fearful pets can be challenging, but I also believe the long delays and handling methods greatly contributed to his distress. His fear escalated long before the exam ever began. We will not be returning.

First Choice Veterinary Care in Lunenburg is absolutely my LAST choice for veterinary care, and if…read moreyou value the lives of your animals, it should be yours too. I brought my ten m/o kitten in to be spayed on a Friday morning, and picked her up that afternoon as instructed. I was told both on the phone and while picking her up that she did great through her surgery and there were no concerns. However, as soon as I got home, I saw that my cat was already bleeding from her incision site. I immediately called concerned and was told I could email a picture for the veterinarian to look at if I felt the need. Obviously, I did so, and the vet was completely dismissive of my concern. Well, my kittens bleeding continued into the next day (Saturday) and had worsened severely. I brought her to the emergency vet, where, after testing, they diagnosed her with internal bleeding. When I confronted the vet, Melissa Sulin, she disregarded the trauma my cat had experienced, and accused the reputable emergency vet of lying about my cats condition, and refused to read the paperwork that they had given me detailing her symptoms. Melissa Sulin was unwilling to listen to my concerns and experience which occurred due to her dismissive practices and nonexistent bedside manner. After I had voiced my disappointment with the overall experience, she walked out of the patient room shaking her head at me as though I had done something to offend her. Needless to say I will never entrust Melissa Sulin or First Choice Veterinary Care with the wellbeing of my pets again.

She had a muzzle on him that was too small, he let her check one ear and started to jumping around and being anxious so the vet throws the Q-tips she was holding and throws her hands up and starts yelling at me and won't continue the appt. The next day the cops show up because she told them he wasn't up to date on shots. The cop told us it was her who complained. Ummm, he would have been up to date if she had finished the appt and not freaked out. So Unprofessional and mean considering she never helped with his ears either.
