I live in Milford, but decided to stay here since this is where my cat originally got treatment. I think I will probably use them the day. We welcome a new friend into our house because they are so attentive. I had called in to see if they were open on a Saturday to drop off a specimen, they were not on that Saturday which was totally fine. Moments later I was contacted by the office just to make sure GiGi didn't need immediate care. Just in general their communication is fabulous. Not a good vet. Just brought my cat in 2 weeks ago and he literally just needed a refill on his eye ointment and they refused to send me the prescription like they told me they would and now my cat might die because not everyone can afford to bring their cat in every 2 weeks. Most vets don't give you a hassle to get a refill and force you to pay another $200 just to bring them in. There's absolutely no reason I'd need to bring him in again. We already know what the issue is. Just want money it's ridiculous. Not ever going back there again. read more

I absolutely love all of the staff and after many, many years and multiple pets (some through their whole life cycle) in all sorts of situations, I trust them implicitly. I really believe that they care for my animals as if they were their own. One other wonderful thing about this practice is that they are incredibly careful about doing testing in a way that takes the expense into account -- testing one thing to rule something out before moving on to the next thing, and they also are very willing to help me prioritize my pets needs when multiple issues come up at once, which do sometimes as your pets age. We've seen (well, we haven't SEEN the newest doctor, Dr. Normington, but did have appointments with her from the car/ via Covid protocols) all of the doctors pretty evenly and they all have our full confidence, and we are DEEPLY attached to our pets and extremely picky when it comes to their care. We tried a few other vets in the area before settling here, and it's such a relief to find one that really seems to get our pets and be fully committed to their care. read more

Very disappointed with this practice... I have two cats with behavioral problems (redirected aggression), and I brought one of them in for a second rabies shot, and a prescription for calming down (because she was aggressively fighting with the sibling). I was shocked to see the vet threw a blanket on her, and completely shocked and scared her to death. There were three other people in the small room, all getting to her, I was horripilate by the way they treated the poor kitty. Because they couldn't give her the shot, I made another appointment, and they said I'll have to pay a "fearful pet fee" of $70.00. I consented because I didn't really have a choice, I wanted her vaccinated, and they gave me a prescription to calm her down before the visit. However, something came up at the time of the appointment, and I called a few days before to reschedule. Which they did, the person even said that although the appointment is at 8 AM is very likely someone will cancel and I will be able to get in at a later time. Long story short, when I called to ask something about the prescription, this lady asked if I am a patient, I said that I have an upcoming appointment, but she said that she can't find me! Eventually, she looked at the phone record and she admitted that I called to reschedule, but there was no appointment recorded... She said she can take me a month from the date, because they are very busy. I explained that it's sort of a pressing issue, I had the cats living in separate rooms for a month, and it's very difficult for the family, but she didn't care. "We're busy, sorry". Not even "I will try to add you to a cancellation list" or "Let me talk to the vet"... Only the cold shoulder. And here I am, calling practices around to start all over. Such a shame. P.S. Wonderful, knowledgeable, and caring staff. Soothing office environment. They get right on the floor with my dog and help her feel at ease (and me too!) I have generally been quite happy with the doctors at this practice. However, I feel like I've just been scammed on my dog's medications. My dog was recommended an allergy med (Apoquel), which is in addition to two other meds that the vet prescribes. In the past, the vet has sent medications to their online pharmacy and/or to CVS. For this medication, they said we could just get it from them. So, silly me, I just got it from them without asking too many questions. At $88 (plus tax) for 25 pills, this was getting rather expensive. After filling it three times with them, I looked it up online, and it turns out that it can be had for about $1.60 per pill, WAY WAY less than the vet is charging at $3.52 a pill. When I called the vet to express my dismay that I've been being WAY over charged, they kinda just shrugged it off; nothing they can do (even for the as-yet unused prescription that I picked up today). They said I could have always asked for the prescription, so, stupid me. But I feel that is scammer behavior on their part. My bad for being taken in. Love the doctors, but now I feel cheated. read more

My husband and I recently adopted our precious dog Maddie from a shelter. Her backstory is quite sad. Before coming to our home, she was used as a puppy factory by a breeder down south and discarded. We immediately fell in love with her and thought that since she had spent her whole life making babies, it was her time to be the baby and be given the type of life and love she deserves. We were in search of a veterinarian when we stumbled upon this wonderful gem. They say first impressions mean the most. For Dr. Vickrey, Dr. Vicik and their amazing staff, this rings true. When we came in for the initial appointment, we were pleasantly greeted by Janet at the front desk who was delightful, professional and made us feel very welcome.. The office was very clean, organized, and bright. One of the techs, Kelly, another smiling face ,was very kind and friendly. You could tell everyone loved what they were doing. Dr. Vickrey answered all of our questions and addressed each of our concerns regarding Maddie's condition. Overall, she confirmed Maddie was in good health. Due to mistreatment by the breeders, however, she required many teeth extractions, likely caused by her chewing on her cage and complete neglect. Thankfully she now has a wonderful doctor to make sure she gets the proper medical care and a family who will love her unconditionally. They were very transparent about treatment costs and presented the min/max estimate range. We never felt pressured in making our decisions. We felt very confident that Dr. Vickrey and her staff would take wonderful care of our precious fur baby so we immediately scheduled her dental surgery within 2 days. This gave us some comfort in knowing that Maddie would eventually not have to suffer anymore with her mouth pain. Before leaving the office, we were given all of her pre-op instruction and preventative medications. On the morning of the procedure, we were greeted by Janet again and to our surprise, she was smiling at 7:45 AM on a Monday morning. Which was quite refreshing. We were a little nervous so another lovely tech named Ashley, took the extra time to sit with us and help put our minds at ease. Dr. Vickrey came out into the waiting area and went over the procedure with us in detail. You can tell she wants only the best for our newest family member. We trust and value her years of experience and guidance with our Maddie. Later, Ashley called and indicated that everything went well. Given the fact that Maddie was under anesthesia for a lengthy amount of time, they requested to monitor her until they closed, which was reassuring to us. When we finally went to pick her up, we were happy to see our baby with her tail wagging and to hear that she had already eaten. They took such wonderful care of Maddie, who even made a new friend in the office cat (Josh). Ashley went over all of the post-op instructions and made us laugh with her wonderful sense of humor regarding her x-ray techniques. She is such a joy and you can see why she is an asset to their team. Then Dr. Vickrey came in and went over the details and answered all of our questions. We couldn't be happier. If you are looking for a veterinarian for the first time or if you are looking to switch, we highly recommend Dr. Vickrey ,Dr Vicik and their entire staff. They are honest, kind, professional, and have mastered their craft and will treat your pet as their own. You will truly feel they are a part of your team in raising a happy and healthy pet. I recently switched to this vet based on a recommendation from a business associate. I brought my two cats in on a Saturday morning and the friendly receptionist chatted with me and checked out my adorable kitties during our brief wait. It made us feel super welcome as newcomers! We met the Vet, Dr. Coryn Vickrey in a clean exam room where it was ok for the cats to roam freely when they weren't being examined. Even my nervous Nelly cat was relaxed and not stressed out at all. They each got a thorough but gentle exam and even shots with no trouble at all! The Dr. brought something to my attention for me to keep an eye on, but didn't charge me for a battery of premature tests. The price was very reasonable even though we were new patients (I really expected a lot more!) and we left through a separate entrance which meant there was no chance to run into other pets that may have scared mine. Overall it was the best Vet experience in my memory and I'm excited to say that we will be staying here as patients indefinitely. read more

One word---wrong! They both misdiagnosised my Westie last August and it cost me hundreds of dollars. They had me running ridiculous blood tests checking everything from thyroid to liver to immune system. We were moving to California and I was frantic to travel with a healthy dog. Once we arrived in Santa Clara I started all over again as my dog still was having trouble walking. Immediately that knowledgable ,educated vet uncovered a fungus on her front feet . With in 2 weeks my dogs was back to normal. I feel taken for about $600 from Westford. read more

We're new to the area and wanted to get established with a local vet. It was simple to setup an appointment for a checkup for our dog, we we're able to request times online & were contacted to finalize a date / time. Staff were friendly & offices were more "modern" then previous vets I've been to (which were in an old house). Checkup went well, however there was a guest vet filling in for the primary vet. She was super nice & competent but seemed a little unsure here and there for specific inquiries regarding the practices & their procedures (which is understandable). Only downside was a test that was needed for my dog was overlooked & wasn't caught while we were there, however we we're immediately called the following day to bring the missed test to our attention / schedule a follow up. We called multiple vets to get in as we were new to the area. Whole pet was accepting new clients and we got in fairly quickly. Showed up and it was very unorganized but i decided to give them the benefit and return again for another round of vaccines for our pup. The receptionist scheduled us a day too early for our dog to get the rabies vaccine and the vet denied us. Told us they would get us back in, in the morning with no vet visit charge. A day later we bring in the pup for the vaccine, a different vet is there and charges us for an exam and states the other vet didn't tell her about the free exam so she's not going to do that. So we got charged for 2 exams within 2 days. All because of a receptionist error and lack of communication from the vet staff. We then get a letter in the mail stating we are no longer welcome at their practice because we were frustrated with the level of care. While i was there in the office the receptionist was giving a customer on the phone attitude and then hung up and proceeded to speak my unkindly about said client in front of a room of clients. They're very unprofessional and i would never recommend them. Looking at other reviews proves they only about money and are ripping a lot of people off. We have been going to Whole Pet since they were Carlson Vet and through several name changes. One thing has stayed the same: the quality and compassion of the vets. They care about your pets and they care about your financial means to care for them, unlike the previous vet we went to who judged our love for our pet by How much we were able to spend. I love that this practice is a small personal office and that I've had the same vet for over a decade. Dr. Vicik and the vets before her have gone far above and beyond on various occasions. These guys are awesome! I did some research and requested quotes for doing health checks on 5 Bichon Frise puppies and they quoted me a rate that was very reasonable (best rate of 3 and 50% of one that I used to go to) and got me in in 3 days time. The Vet, Coryn, was awesome as was the Technical staff. They both sat down on the floor with the puppies and all worked together (I had to identify them and the vet did the checks and the vet tech recorded everything). She detected what she called a whisper of a heart murmer in one of the puppies but explained it was so faint she could barely pick it up, still it went on the puppy's health certificate, as it should. They were just amazing and fairly priced. Nice as could be no snippy receptionists that act like they are doing you a favor allowing you an appointment 2 to 3 weeks hence since after all you have the lowly status of being a "new" client. I've been taking my cat to Whole Pet Vet Center for 4 years now and have enjoyed my experience there each visit. The veterinary assistants are always friendly and patient with my terrified cat, and Dr. Janyce Vicik is a kind and caring animal physician. Though they do recommend certain foods and additional tests from time to time, they always provide a quote first and never pressure me to opt into these additional services (since my cat is relatively young and healthy - which is common sense to me). The appointments are quick and to the point, which is a mercy on my poor terrified cat. I would recommend this vet to anyone looking for good care, a loving staff, and reasonable prices. read more

I don't think these Vets are dog people. I spoke to a few people who have taken their dog here and they experienced the same as us, the vets first reaction to any dog is to say "we should put a muzzle on that", often without making an attempt to acknowledge the animal. They said we should medicate our 12 week old puppy because she seemed "neurotic". Also, the ER vet charges less for a visit than here, which I am a bit confused about. Overall, nice enough people but we switched vets as it wasn't the best fit for our dog. read more

I used to see Dr. Vickrey back in Belmont, and when she moved, it was a little far, so I switched to a new vet. When my cat was having problems that the new vet couldn't seem to solve, I decided to make the drive to go to someone I trusted. I had forgotten just how much I like Dr. Vickrey, how she is genuinely concerned for my cat, and how thorough she is. My cat is much better now. We were new to town and looking for a vet and stumbled upon Westford Animal Hospital. We could not have been more happy with them. They were extremely friendly and knowledgeable about many things. They didn't push anything on us that we didn't want and gave us many great suggestions. Our dog Layla is terrified of going to the vet but the staff at Westford Animal Hospital is so caring and calm and eases her fears. They are so sweet with our dog and with us that we wouldn't go anywhere else. We are so happy we stumbled upon them!! Our vet just closed his office so we had to find a new vet. After looking online and reading the reviews we decided on Whole Pet Vet. I came in and talked with the receptionist and explained the situation. Mainly that our cat was on a diet food that we needed to get with a vet's approval. She set me up with an appointment with a vet so they could meet me and our cat. When I came back for the appointment, she already had the cat food on the counter waiting for me. I only had to wait about a minute when the vet tech (Liz Heal) came and brought me into a room. Shorty after her prelim exam Dr. Vicik came into the room. They were both very friendly, polite, and professional. I was very impressed with both of them. After the exam, the receptionist carried out the 2 cases of food to my car for me. I found her to be extremely helpful and thoughtful. I think the vet center is very lucky to have such a nice person as their receptionist. read more

When I first brought my dog to this practice I was impressed that Dr. Vicik had carefully read his medical record before we arrived. She gave him the most thorourgh physical exam he'd ever had. And explained what she was doing at every step. Nearly two years later, Mike became ill and Dr. Vicik recommended appropriate testing and diagnosed by boy with aggressive liver cancer. Dr. Vickery and her staff handled his euthanasia calmly, and kindly. I cannot say enough about the compassionate care that we received at Westford Animal Hospital. We have been going to Whole Pet since they were Carlson Vet and through several name changes. We would always rate whole pet as a 5 rating never had an issue till recently. Are little girl Gizzy between 5&6 years old who we rescued. we took to whole pet on June 22 because she got slammed to the ground by are sons dog. She had fluid all on her left side and she came down with a hacking cough. at the time of the visit we asked Dr Freeman if she could check her teeth because we thought she might have an infection and she responded by saying were not here for that. when asked another question she said I've been doing this for fifteen years. the whole time we were there not once did she examine her or weigh her or ask for a blood test. So how can you know what's wrong . She was put on antibiotics 750 mg of amoxicillin that made her sick. how can you know the dose with out weighing a dog first. As far as ratings go I give Dr Freeman zero stars. On July 24 we called whole pet about our dog getting a third eye or lids over here eyes. they told us to send pictures and if it didn't get better to call back in the morning, but they were better by the morning. We called an made an appointment on Sept 17 because there was still something wrong with our dog. we made an appointment for Sept 21 @9:30 with Dr Vickrey. On Sept 20 we called in the morning to see if we could get our dog in as an emergency, the lady at the desk told us we could only have an appointment in the afternoon with Dr Freeman. We did not want to see Dr Freeman but was asked to give her a second chance. We were told we would be charged for an emergency and that she did not know how long we would have to sit in the waiting area, until there was an opening. So we had know choice but to take her to the emergency hospital. That is were they found in large lymph nodes and put her on antibiotics. Whole pets was notified and they called to ask how our dog was doing. So a week later our dog was laying on the couch like always rolled over off the couch on to the floor were she died. We rushed her to the E.R. were they pronounced her dead. The Dr at the E.R. said her lymph nodes were good and did not know what happened. I find it funny that it has been three days since my dog died and we have not received a call or e- mail saying how sorry they are about our loss and it is also funny that when we went in to there web site to check her records. we found they have all ready been deleted can't be to concerned after all these years. Dr. Vicik helped my rescue dog back to health when she accurately diagnosed him with anaplasmosis. I feel my animals are in very good hands here! read more
