We arrived 10 minutes early, only to be told to wait in the car because the exam room was being cleaned. It was the middle of summer, and despite running the AC, I became increasingly concerned about keeping my senior dog comfortable and safe. We weren't brought inside until about 20 minutes after our scheduled appointment time. Unfortunately, the wait didn't end there. Once inside, we sat in the exam room for another 20 minutes while my dog became increasingly anxious, restless, and fearful. Staff came in and out asking questions, but the veterinarian didn't enter until my dog was already overwhelmed. Before the exam, I clearly explained that my dog is very protective of his face and can react quickly. I even brought my own muzzle to help keep everyone safe. By that point, however, after spending roughly 40 minutes waiting and building anxiety, he was too distressed to cooperate. When he managed to remove the muzzle, the assistant became increasingly forceful and visibly frustrated. The veterinarian then suggested using a towel over his head so they could listen to his heart and lungs. Instead of calming him, it sent him into a panic. Hearing my senior dog struggling under the towel, desperately trying to clear his nose and escape, was heartbreaking. I asked if there was anything I could do to comfort him, but I was immediately told no because of insurance reasons. In the end, they couldn't complete the exam and recommended gabapentin before attempting another visit. I left with a senior dog who was frightened, hypervigilant, and completely shaken by the experience. I understand that fearful pets can be challenging, but I also believe the long delays and handling methods greatly contributed to his distress. His fear escalated long before the exam ever began. We will not be returning.

Had the vets call me stupid and insist up and down I was crazy. Well, turns out they sedated and shaved their own cat, Stretch, who lives in the office, and sent us home with him right before close. Didn't get so much as an apology from either vet dealing with the situation, they made their vet tech take all the fall. Some of the rudest behavior I've ever seen in animal care. I would never take my cats here. Attached are photos of the foster I brought in and then the cat I was sent home with (each labeled) and had to go racing back with, so you can see just how different they look. Our foster was a longhair, and Stretch is clearly not, so I really don't understand this kind of mixup. Beyond that, Stretch is (and was for us at our house!) very sweet and handlable, CLEARLY not feral like our foster. AND THE CATS ARE DIFFERENT GENDERS. Our poor feral foster was hiding in the back. Had been let out of her carrier and left to hide, and easily could have snuck out a door. Incredible negligence.

At 11:35 I called a friend and asked her where she took her dog. At 11:45 I called that vet, made an appointment, and left. At 12:05 my phone rang and a cheerful voice told me (without apologizing or even mentioning that I had been kept waiting) that it was time to bring my dog to the entrance. Needless to say. . . .

They asked if she was a current patient and I answered "no" and told them I had just moved here. They refused to see her and told me to go see an emergency vet up in Westminster. I then called Leominster Animal Hospital on Lancaster Street and they immediately said "yes, bring her right in". I put her in the carrier and raced right down there and they treated her wonderfully and got her well. I was so impressed that the following week I called and made a wellness visit appointment for my other cat. Both of those cats have since passed on, each at age 18. I adopted two rescue cats in 2024 and take both of them to Leominster Animal Hospital. Dr. Feccia and his staff have been wonderful. I would not go to the Central Street Animal Hospital even if they offered to treat my cats for free.

He is a solo practitioner and it is a small clinic with basics. If you suspect something that needs further diagnostics beyond basic x-ray, basic bloodwork, or vaccines and general medicine, I would go to one of the other larger area pet hospitals- in Westford, Waltham, Wachusett, Woburn, etc. Dr. Norelli is very cost conscious and will be very reasonable in terms of conservative treatment. If you are looking for medical care that goes above and beyond (and perhaps needs an ultrasound or an MRI or physical therapy), I would seek a second vet or another veterinary hospital system. He does basic surgery such as dentals, neutering, and lump removals. Maintenance care and palliative care. His hours are limited to the work week Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays 9-5pm, so you have to take time off of work to bring your pets here, but if you like being in the exam room, having a one-on-one conversation with your vet and your pet isn't too sick, this is a great and unique clinic! The entire veterinary profession is changing with commercial hospitals and a practice like this is unique and a gem. I recommend Dr. Norelli's practice if you're in the area and needing an empathetic vet.

She was familiar with the knee issue my dog has and advised about not cutting my dog's hair too short since she could get sunburned. Timing and price were very reasonable. We will be back for sure. Also, we were advised that our dog is a little overweight - because SHE IS! It's 100% our fault and we know that. I'm not sure why anyone would get offended by this, it's unhealthy and it's the owner's fault. We should be reminded to keep our pets healthy and in good shape.
