The Veterinarian Tech's were very nice and helpful with keeping my cat calm. I recommend taking your pet here if you are looking for Vet care for your pet!

I truly debated whether to write this review, but if it helps even one pet owner make an informed…read moredecision, it's worth sharing. This was my senior dog's first appointment. We arrived 10 minutes early, only to be told to wait in the car because the exam room was being cleaned. It was the middle of summer, and despite running the AC, I became increasingly concerned about keeping my senior dog comfortable and safe. We weren't brought inside until about 20 minutes after our scheduled appointment time. Unfortunately, the wait didn't end there. Once inside, we sat in the exam room for another 20 minutes while my dog became increasingly anxious, restless, and fearful. Staff came in and out asking questions, but the veterinarian didn't enter until my dog was already overwhelmed. Before the exam, I clearly explained that my dog is very protective of his face and can react quickly. I even brought my own muzzle to help keep everyone safe. By that point, however, after spending roughly 40 minutes waiting and building anxiety, he was too distressed to cooperate. When he managed to remove the muzzle, the assistant became increasingly forceful and visibly frustrated. The veterinarian then suggested using a towel over his head so they could listen to his heart and lungs. Instead of calming him, it sent him into a panic. Hearing my senior dog struggling under the towel, desperately trying to clear his nose and escape, was heartbreaking. I asked if there was anything I could do to comfort him, but I was immediately told no because of insurance reasons. In the end, they couldn't complete the exam and recommended gabapentin before attempting another visit. I left with a senior dog who was frightened, hypervigilant, and completely shaken by the experience. I understand that fearful pets can be challenging, but I also believe the long delays and handling methods greatly contributed to his distress. His fear escalated long before the exam ever began. We will not be returning.

My dog Murphee became a new patient of Dr. Churchill and at his first visit she gave him a thorough…read moresenior exam. The weekend of 12/7/2024, Murphee was unable to stand and walk again but this time he was worse. He had health problems, Cushing's and problems with his lower back and back legs. Monday afternoon 12/9/2024 Murphee legs were very weak and he could barely stand. I called the hospital and explained the problem. Dr. Churchill came to the phone and told me to bring him in immediately (this was late in the afternoon). Dr. Churchill examined Murphee and we saw how weak he was and could not stand. My heart was breaking but I had to make the decision that not of us want to do. I had to put Murphee to sleep. I want to thank the great the Techs, Kaylee, Heidi, and Debbie as they were so wonderful to me and Murphee. I watched as Dr. Churchill administered the injections and watched my baby take his least breathe. I want to thank Dr. Churchill for her compassion, her kindness and the love she has for her patients. I received a condolence card from Dr. Churchill and the personal note that she and Heidi wrote that touched our hearts. Thank you, Dr. Churchill and Heidi, for the card and Murphee's paw prints that mean so much to us. I would highly recommend Dr. Churchill at Brookline Animal Hospital to everyone.

He is a solo practitioner and it is a small clinic with basics. If you suspect something that needs further diagnostics beyond basic x-ray, basic bloodwork, or vaccines and general medicine, I would go to one of the other larger area pet hospitals- in Westford, Waltham, Wachusett, Woburn, etc. Dr. Norelli is very cost conscious and will be very reasonable in terms of conservative treatment. If you are looking for medical care that goes above and beyond (and perhaps needs an ultrasound or an MRI or physical therapy), I would seek a second vet or another veterinary hospital system. He does basic surgery such as dentals, neutering, and lump removals. Maintenance care and palliative care. His hours are limited to the work week Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays 9-5pm, so you have to take time off of work to bring your pets here, but if you like being in the exam room, having a one-on-one conversation with your vet and your pet isn't too sick, this is a great and unique clinic! The entire veterinary profession is changing with commercial hospitals and a practice like this is unique and a gem. I recommend Dr. Norelli's practice if you're in the area and needing an empathetic vet.

I have one healthy cat and one with a gastrointestinal tumor and an open sore on his skin. Both kitties are elderly. She did look at their teeth and my sick c at's sore, and the cats were weighed. I don't remember if she used her stethoscope or not but I have never had a doctor be less thurough in the exam or show so little concern for my cats. My sick cat's x-rays from another vet were faxed to her but she didn't mention them. She did order an antibiotic for the sore, which made a barely noticable improvement, but nit enough. There was one other patient in the waiting room with me so I don't think they were that busy. The doctor wasn't rude, she just wasn't caring in the slightest and wasn't nearly as thorough as you expect and need your doctor to be. The cat I think is healthy might not be healthy after all. They are 16 years old and illnesses/diseases can develop rapidly and without symptoms until its too late. I will be finding another doctor for the follow-up.
