i have been suffering with a bone spur at c7 forever. had x-ray mid may. week later was called and told before neurology would see me i must have a mri. was told i'd be called. received a call telling i had a bone density test on 6/18. i asked if i was scheduled for my mri. central scheduling stated waiting on ins approval. i called ins. they stated it was approved 6/2. i called back and told them it was approved. today left early for bone density to see if i could schedule mri..4 people stated i need ins approval.. me reiterating it has been. why did i have to be an a$$hole to get this done. now scheduled for monday. girl stated which location. i said the one that can get me in fastest. her reply... oh we have plenty of appts. for monday. and that is healthcare in america. read more

Went to be seen yesterday in the ER for a shoulder injury. Ended up being a rotator cuff care. The female doctor was incredibly unprofessional, rude and lacked any empathy. She yelled, grabbed my coworkers phone from her hand and yelled more. As a doctor choosing to pursue healthcare this is a horrible way to treat any patient that walks in looking for help. Do better at holding your staff accountable and responsible in acting in respectful manner. This was absolutely a disgusting display of behavior by a healthcare professional. My son will never go to this hospital again. The care quality here is beyond pathetic. They don it take care of our college students. We are 3 years in going here and will never return.mu son went there today and was needing mri and they told him there was no ortho on duty and sent him home is paralyzing pain and have him a referral ! Not pain relief at all ! Last year he fell very ill and was literally passing out in the waiting room only for them to send him home again only for him to return 2 more times because they would not admit and treat him. It took 7 months to get an appointment with a neurologist, just to have them tell me 2 days before the appointment that they could not complete my request, which they had confirmed they could do when I booked the appointment. read more

Doctor and medical staff were great, hospital was clean. I started receiving text saying I owed them and to pay. I always received a paper bill in the past and assumed it was a scam however I did try to call the number. It was like in the teens on wait time, understaffed or incompetent I don't know which. Finally spoke to someone telling them send me a bill like I always received in the past. They did and the first bill was a demand to pay in full in 30 days, it really upset me. NEVER have a received a medical bill that DEMANDED pif on first notice. I paid a hundred dollars and complained about the UNPROFESSIONAL billing. Next thing I know that sent me to collections. I choose to go there for procedure I assure you I will never go there again. read more

Having an appointment to see Heather Bulloch I arrived on time of course, as everyone's time should be respected. As I waited the patient next to me shared with me that on her last visit she waited 3 hours after her appointment time to be seen! After waiting 30 minutes they called me up and said since they were busy and had entered my DOB incorrectly I would have to reschedule! What poor customer service! Patients don't have lives, jobs and responsibilities of their own,correct? Since you cancelled on me last minute do I get to charge you a last minute cancellation fee? read more

Front end staff very hostile over phones and sometimes during appointments. Did not want to work with my schedule at all and hung up on me immediately after before I could even say thank you and sorry for the trouble. I shouldn't have to feel guilty that I need appointments at certain times. Front staff need to be more welcoming and friendly. I've thought about just canceling these appointments that I need because I don't want to deal with the staff. I don't have any others options but to hope you take this review to heart and change. Please. My nurses vary, sometimes I have a great appointment, other times I leave with huge bruises and a sore arm for weeks. Not entirely their fault but still, they're giant bruises from multiple sticks and blow outs. Every time I'm there it kind of just feels like they want me gone. I will say it is NOT every nurse, most visits feel normal and not horrible but sometimes it gets bad enough where I question why I am ever going in the first place. It's sad that I have to think that but it's the reality in healthcare right now. I have been waiting a while to make a review just to see if my feelings would change but unfortunately it has gotten worse the more visits I have. Please change. WORTH THE READ: THIS PLACE IS ABSOLUTELY AWFUL!!! They never sent me a bill for what I owed them from 2018, that I was unaware of. Fast-forward to 2024, they filed (AND WAS GRANTED) to withdraw $450 a month from my checks, before I even found out I that I had a bill. I am recovering from brain cancer, and have been for a year and a half, and currently going through chemo and I SERIOUSLY COULD NOT AFFORD an extra $450 a month for a bill that gained over $1,500 extra in just late fees. I could have made payments to them like I do with OU cancer center but I never knew about it. I found out after the HR department at my job told me they were garnishing this money. THE WORST PART? I called to Norman Regional and they couldn't find a bill that I owed them, they couldn't even find my name in their collections. This place is unorganized and honestly disgusting. This was my second visit with this facility and I've had incredible care here. Dr. Zambrano is doing a superb job and doesn't miss a thing, I've been very pleased. Very professional with a great bedside manner. Denis and Laura, nurses that I worked with, are stellar. Very personable and always puts you at ease. I've got to say that ANY visit I've had within the Norman Regional Health System has been superb. My wife and I highly recommend this wound care. read more

Don't go if you're needing emergent care. Came in having difficult breathing from a recent medication and it took them 3 hours to see me. This was with an empty waiting room. I suggest going elsewhere if you need life saving care. Norman regional is not the place. read more

Unexceptable health care, I would not call it care, it's negligence! After filing a report and speaking to Patient Liaison and the Manager of MSO, I received a letter saying they appreciated my concerns and thanked me for sharing them! Apparently the staff was coached on their behavior and letter apologized for their unprofessional or uncaring way I was treated. read more

I came into the emergency room with shortness of breath and chest pain. I was seen quickly and all the staff were so nice. Just on time and on top of everything. Providing me with warm blankets and giving me whatever I need. Don't listen to the bad reviews on here as some people probably just have a bad experience on their end. I love this hospital. I first came because I lived just blocks away and heard there was a coffee shop inside Called the "daily grind". It was the closest walk for me so I took off! Each staff person greeted me warmly from nurses Walking down the hall smiling at me to the receptionist at the front who pointed me toward the coffee shop. This place is a joke. I was sent here by urgent care and have been waiting over 8 hours to be seen. They say they dont have enough beds in the ER dept. The ER is also on top of a hill and way far away is the parking. I'm struggling for air by the time I get there. Who designed this terrible place? I almost want to drive to another city to get care. I could be having a blood clot in my leg that could lead to an embolism. But that doesn't matter to them. The front desk nurse looks and sounds like they don't want to be here. Unacceptable service today. Over an hour turnaround time in the OR due to "staffing issues". Our arrival time was 10:30 am and surgery was not performed until 5 hours later. Not once did any staff come and talk to us about any delays, after waiting 3 hours, we had to go hunt down a nurse and ask about the delay, then the Dr came and and told us about the slow OR turnaround. Then after the surgery the dr came out and told us it would be another hour and someone would come tell us what room to meet our patient in. Hour and half later, all front desk staff is gone. I helped myself back to the surgery area to ask, then they directed us to the patients room upstairs. All of this with no apologies or acknowledgement of any delay issues. Unacceptable Healthcare service. Maybe the admin staff should spend time making rounds and be concerned about patient care and satisfaction. Will not recommend this facility. read more

I went in twice within two days because the first day I was misdiagnosed. The next day I went in with worse pain than the day before. While having pain that sent me to the floor in the middle of the waiting room, the lady at the front desk proceeded to call security on me while I begged her to get help. Later I went to Mercy in southern Oklahoma City and found out that I had to get surgery for gallbladder disease. I specifically asked for a CAT scan when I first went to Norman Regional and they wrote me off. I will never again step foot in there in the case of an emergency or any other health related reason. I will also make sure that no one I know steps foot in that hospital so they don't have to deal with the unprofessionalism and general lack of care for their patients. read more

I came to the ER after experiencing some back pain and vomiting. There was concern for meningitis as I had been exposed to it earlier in the week. I went to the ER early afternoon. It took a while to be called back after checking in. But, once I was placed in a room I was greeted and examined promptly. The medical staff made me feel calm and comfortable, they were very professional and reassuring. Overall a good experience. read more

My review is for the Norman Regional Heart Clinic in the doctors building right beside the Porter Campus. I went to an appointment on June 2 to see Dr. Anwar for a follow up on a procedure he did in April. I had been hospitalized in April and when I was released had to have a CT done and then schedule an appointment to see him for the follow up. I called the heart clinic right after walking out of the Porter campus after having the CT done. My appointment was scheduled for a week and a half out and they were sending me "new patient" paperwork in the mail. (I never received that paperwork.) They already had me in their system though. They couldn't wait to tell me about a balance I owed, that I had yet to actually receive a paper bill on. I get a call a few days later telling me that they are going to reschedule my appointment and it is a week or so out from the original. Unfortunately, I ended up in the hospital again and I knew that I was not going to be out in time so I called the heart clinic and canceled telling the receptionist that I was hospitalized and was not sure when I would be out but I would reschedule as soon as I was released. She said that she would make a note of it. A few days later, I get back to my room from a procedure, and I see a voicemail on my cell. I listen to it and it is from the heart clinic and a lady being hostile on why I missed my appointment and that I needed to be seen in person and I needed to call back and get in the clinic. Why is no one there communicating? I was told a note would inform them that I was hospitalized when I called and canceled. I called the clinic and spoke with her and I told her that I was hospitalized and I called and canceled letting the receptionist know that I would reschedule as soon as I was released. Then she has the nerve to ask me what is going on. I was a little taken back and she persisted. I should have told her that she isn't family or friend and I didn't know her and therefore I wasn't sharing anything with her. I decided I wanted off the phone with her rude, tactless self and told her my news and then she changed her tune really fast. She then just told me to call when I was released to schedule an appointment. You would think that would be it right? Nope, that is just the beginning. I made an in-person appointment and went to the office on June 2. I know my insurance and I know my plan has a deductible and out of pocket that once met, waives my co-pays for the remainder of the year. I even called my insurance and confirmed that I had reached that. The clinic asked for a $50 co-pay and I informed them that I have met my deductible and out of pocket and now co-pays are waived. The check-out receptionist, who wasn't even involved in the conversation, got loud with a "SIR! We always collect copays! Do you have proof of this?" I told her that she could call my insurance because they said if anyone gives push back or has questions have them call the insurance. She told me that she guesses she will take my word but they sure will bill me. I should have asked for the office manager at that point because I certainly am not giving my money away when I know good and well it isn't due to you. Also, the check-out receptionist is the same voice that left me the rude message when I was in the hospital and demanded to know what was going on and why I was in the hospital. Why was no one ready for my visit and had all of my patient insurance information already on my account? Had you done your job and called my insurance, you would have already known that I had no co-pay. Also, why is a teen following his mom around while she gets my weight and then stands in the exam room while getting my vitals and going over my prescriptions, etc...? This is extremely inappropriate and it automatically made me question the ethics of HIPPA in this office. I checked out and the rude check-out receptionist changed her tune and was all smiles. I go back in two months, and if I experience this tactless, unprofessional mess again, we are going to have some big problems. read more

This review is for the ER only for the hospital in Norman. BEWARE, my son, (student at OU from Colorado) came into the emergency room with nausea and horrible abdomen pain. After they said they did an MRI they diagnosed him with Dyspepsia and sent him home with medications for vomiting, acid reflex and medication for an ulcer. Which you can not know that from an MRI. Next morning arrived back at the emergency room with the same symptoms only worse, he had to come in with a wheelchair. He was then seen and was told he had ulcers and was dehydrated. Sent home with pain medications and gel for nausea. Treated like he was a bother and told to follow up with a GI doctor on Monday. Suffered through the weekend very ill. I called the GI office was told he could not be seen until Tuesday. I then sent him back to the ER with much hesitation and no trust in there ability, I then spoke with the ER doctor and said he would not be leaving until they figured out what was wrong. Both previous visits he asked about his appendix, they said was definitely not that. In fact they asked him twice if he had his appendix removed. After being blatantly diagnosed by 1pm in the afternoon my son had emergency surgery for his perforated appendix and abscess. Then due to the negligence of the ER he spent 6 days in the hospital very, very sick. Be very careful of this emergency room. Thank goodness he had a good surgeon. read more

Just received a bill for almost $900 just because my cardiologist uses their building. Norman Regional bills separately from the physician so you will receive 2 bills for the same visit. Not pleased at all. My fiancee has been in pain for a week after an appendectomy that left an abcess in his abdomen. We were told The procedure to drain the abcess would happen yesterday afternoon. Then they told us this morning. Now it's "probably" going to be this afternoon. Also, I can't help but wonder if this all could have been avoided if they hadn't forgotten to give him the IV antibiotics after the initial surgery. Beyond frustrating. read more
