The MVA near me does not handle any transactions except driver's licenses on Saturday, so I went to Terry's Tag and Title in Columbia, which is open on Saturday. I am extremely happy that I decided to do so. The service there was great, and I was in and out of their small shop in 10 minutes. Another customer was there ahead of me, but she was waiting for another family member to arrive to sign some paperwork. The representative behind the desk kindly asked her if she could begin my transaction while she waited. Then she immediately began processing the paperwork (title, safety inspection, proof of insurance), and within a very short time I was holding the tags, the vehicle registration, and the registration stickers (for the tags). The representative there was even nice enough to place the registration stickers on the license plate. The title paperwork was entered and was mailed to me by the MVA several weeks later. I highly recommend Terry's Tag and Title. Several other places I found on the Internet claimed to be open on Saturday, but when I called they said that they were not. Also, a number of other places seem to be combined with insurance agencies, auto repair shops, etc. Terry's is a standalone business, and their storefront in Columbia seems to be in a nice area.

Being an offered a choice to NOT visit the MD MVA was a pleasure. The staff at Norman's helped me register my Connecticut purchased vehicle in Maryland, just provided all the documentation the dealer provided me with and they also helped me process my request for my specialty plate. I came back in 48 hours to pick up the plate, and the fee was $40 for their services. I have no idea how this might compare to other Tag & Title businesses, but I deemed it worthwhile to bypass the waiting and intermittent surliness of MD MVA staff. You're paying for the convenience, and it was very worth it to me.

After looking at the price of my bill of sale for a…read morecar my uncle gifted me for graduation, she told me to "get out" and refused service because there's "no way someone would sell me a 2014 for that price" when I repeatedly explained it was a "gift" from a family member. The vehicle could've been sold for $1 , it's still a legal transaction ESPECIALLY being that I already acquired the title. After I demanded an explanation for why she was kicking me out of her office, she proceeded to yell loudly, in front of other clients. I pulled out my phone to document the spectical she was making and she PUSHED me out of the doorway using the door. Legally I had the right to report her to the authorities but a $4 notary wasn't worth the stress. I wouldn't suggest anyone use this service or patronize this business. Her office is dirty unorganized, with an unpleasant smell and it looks like she lives there.. also she didn't have shoes on very unprofessional

Until this year due to a cascading set of unfortunate events. I came upon Iron Shore by chance and I am thrilled that I did. This lady did in an incredibly pleasant 20 minutes what I had unsuccessfully vyried to do for almost an hour. She cheerfully and expertly navigated the arcane MD MVA web site and got me my tag and registration in a very short time. I highly recommend this device. The proprietor emanates cheerful no nonsense expertise dealt with a number of somewhat ununusal circumstances ( I am in the middle of a move) and sent me on my way150% satisfied. I would recommend her to any and everybody and will be sure to be back in two years.
