I love this cute coffee/bakery shop in Ridgewood. It's the perfect touch to the neighborhood & is constantly busy. There are only five tables to sit at inside, but there is also outside seating. The space is tiny, but manageable. The staff is very friendly & courteous & your food is prepared as fast as they can go. My typically go to is the new yorker with spicy bacon. The bacon is indeed spicy, but soooo delicious. One can't help but to purchase a dessert as well [since you're being eyed by them as your standing in line to order] - these desserts are freshly baked every single morning!!! Great food and coffee. They also have beautiful pastries as well. I recommend the bacon scallion biscuit as a quick grab and run thing with your morning coffee. Also all the sandwiches are extra special too... only downside to this spot is the hours as they close early... and also sometimes it says they are "open" but they are closed... :( so if you don't live very close by and you head over there, you can potentially be heartbroken. Every time I go in here I get an attitude from the owner. I honestly don't understand it because I'm nothing but nice to her. The coffee is nothing to rave about so why would I continue to come here to be abused? Maybe you'll be lucky? Who knows but as for me, I'm gonna stay away from some bipolar person. Norma's took my breathe away. The first bite was a burst of flavor! Let me rewind, I stopped by here looking for breakfast after my haircut. Native to bushwick. I seen the B.E.C pictures and figured it was just another New York spot trying to make a simple breakfast sandwhich. I was wrong. I ordered the New Yorker on egg everything bagel & extra bacon. It was so amazing. Bacon was thick cut, Bagel was super soft, Cheese was sharp, & the egg was a cloud. I Almost ordered a second one. Overall, one of the best sandwiches I have had in a while. My ABSOLUTE favorite spot in Ridgewood to grab a breakfast sandwich! Always made to perfection, I get the New Yorker on a croissant. I add cream cheese and jam to my sandwich. It's my signature. Cute little location! Not much space inside but great coffee if you want to stop by and grab a cup. I wanted to mocha hot coffee however they were out of chocolate. Norma's is a staple in the Ridgewood community. The food is consistently good with many favorites like the Ranchero and the New Yorker. The numerous bread choices are awesome (sourdough, everything bagels, challah bread, and more), but no one makes a biscuit like this cafe (your choice between scallion cheddar and traditional). Sandwich add-ons for select sandwiches, like the Ranchero (my personal favorite) include regular bacon, spicy bacon, and avocado. You can also substitute regular cheese with vegan cheese! The vegan mushroom sausage sandwich with parsley spread is absolutely delicious as well. The Lox sandwich on an everything bagel is perfect and fairly priced for a lox, which is so rare to find in New York City. Drinks are made right in front of you - the coffee is really good and the beans can be bought in-store. Croissants, various cookies, and other desserts can also be purchased at the counter. I don't care if you have to wait, or even stand a few minutes for a table. I wanted to try it all, but I settled for the breakfast biscuit sandwich. Egg, cheese, mushrooms, ham, bacon....and that delicious garlic cheese biscuit. High five and a happy dance it was so good. "G" had the tuna melt on the same garlic cheese biscuit. We actually did a split and share the sandwiches. I am not a big tuna fan, but this was good. Iced coffees were full bodied and smooth. Music was a Spotify mix which was eclectic and great for the surroundings. Interesting artwork on the walls. People at adjoining tables were friendly and talkative which added to the atmosphere. A few wifi internet hoarders in the restaurant taking up valuable butt area so the rest of us have to wait on seating. Don't you just hate those people who sit there for two hours nursing one drink and not contributing to the turn over necessary for the businesses to make a decent living. Maybe store owners are nice enough not to make mention of it, but customers who are actually wanting to sit down and enjoy their items should not be inconvenienced by those on computers. These stores are not library's and if you have that much work to do on the computer just go home and do your work. Your clearly not enjoying the riches of the ambiance and the interaction with the customers in the establishment. There I said it. I heart this place so much. read more

A unique cafe hidden in Glendale/Ridgewood, Norma's is a wonderful part of the neighborhood. Their drinks are well made and they have almond milk. The service is good most of the time but it's not consistent. Sometimes there will be a worker who gives you an attitude or one that makes a mess of your bagel. However, all places have a bad apple once in a while. They have really affordable lunch options, including a hummus sandwich and a bagel with vegan cream cheese. Their pastry section also always changes with muffins and cookies of all different combination of ingredients. The workers seldom know what the pastries are but you can't go wrong with whatever you choose. They also usually have some vegan choices but you have to ask which ones since there are no signs. read more

We stumbled upon Norma's Corner Shoppe after looking for a new breakfast place to try in the Brooklyn-Queens area. We went with the classic BEC (Bacon, Egg, and Cheese) with Spicy bacon and on a Potato Dill roll (not a roll). The wait for the sandwich was quite long because it was quite busy late on a Sunday morning. The BEC was very good, I would've preferred a bagel rather than the Potato dill bread, but it was still very good. A nice sandwich that is perfect to cure a hangover. Holy crap, this place is amazing! We were in search of a quick breakfast on the way to JFK, and Yelp reviews led us here. It's teeeeeeny tiny.... I'm talking 3-4 tables, but very cozy, comfortable, and homey. Staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming, too. I ordered the Extra Lovely (egg white, mozzarella, spinach and parsley spread) on a garlic cheddar biscuit. The staff is extremely proud of their biscuits and have every right to be.... don't miss them! They are baked fresh every morning and once they sell out for the day, that's it. One of the best breakfast sandwiches I've ever had. Coffee was on point too! I ordered an iced coffee with the housemade pumpkin spice syrup (I'm white; when I see pumpkin spice, I can't control myself) and it tasted so fresh and natural. I don't think I can go to the Starbucks syrup ever again. They also have a variety of sweet pastries, all-day sandwiches, salads, and there is even a counter where they sell jewelry/art from local designers. Such a cool little coffee shop with amazing food. Literally heaven on earth. I was introduced to this little shop the day I moved to Ridgewood and have gone at least 1-2x/month since. You MUST try The Ranchero on either a cheddar biscuit or an everything bagel. AND all of the pastries, you must try them all. The vegan raspberry loaf, the peanut butter loaf, the peanut butter cookie, the grassroot bar. For real, get all of them next time you go. Don't waste your money. I was always skeptical of gentrification row in Ridgewood. However, one day I decided to give Norma's a try. The first experience I had there was actually pleasant. The food is incredibly overpriced but, the staff was kind. That was probably the last decent experience I had at this Shoppe. I frequented this cafe a few times after and every time my experience just got worse. Last time my tuna melt did not have an opportunity to melt, even though I waited over 45min for it. It was still cold when I received it. Just recently, I came to pick up my order. There was not a single living soul in the bakery. I kindly greeted the person behind the register and they just ignored me. Eventually they grabbed my order and gave it to me.. not a single word exchanged. Not even a hi, thank you or bye. If you're into that and love paying a luxury price for rudeness then, this is the place to be. I'll just take my business back to the ave and support where it matters. Stop gentrification. WOW bagels on Freshpond is the place to go, great people, great food and you can get the same thing for $4 minus the rudeness. read more

I say that this place is by far my favorite place of them all. I only been here once and stumbled upon it by chance. I live in the neighborhood and really haven't noticed it before. This place is gorgeous. Lovely cashier and the cook who delivered my food is hella cute. I want to have a chat with her but I rather not disturb her when they're soo many customers waiting for their order. Anyways... sandwich is the best. Crunchy yet soft bun... cheese cooked to melty perfection... and egg/bacon has a lovely taste. I tend to ride my bike past this place every morning to work. Right in the heart of Ridgewood Queens Norma's Corner Shoppe was a nice surprise. This small little shop put its original take on breakfast/brunch and does a great job pairing selections of food that help complement each other and form a really good dish. I ordered the Southerner which a honey milk Biscuit, eggs, sausage gravy, and honey butter. This only cost $5 and it was amazing! I should've ordered two that's how good it was. My sister ordered the chicken melt which was another delicious dish light in size and good enough to get you full. I recommend getting there early and you want to sit and eat because the space is limited. I has the feel of a mom and pop store but it's kind of trendy with a hipster vibe. I enjoyed looking around seeing the artwork, creative display of the menu and many selections in coffee. I think this place is definitely worth a try. You'll get your break fix! read more

Can't believe I never left a review here. Norma's is my favourite neighborhood joint. This place is always packed. They only do sandwiches and salads (they have pastries too) but man they are so good at that. Most of the time I get the New Yorker. The bacon is always super crispy, sizzling and thick cut. The roll is toasted on the griddle so it comes out piping hot, greasy with bits of crunchy melted cheese. It usually takes a little longer than usual to get your food, but it's always fresh, hot and made to order. You only need to try it once and you're instantly hooked. If for some reason you forget what you had for breakfast, the smell on your clothes is gonna remind you about it all day long. read more

Amazing egg sandwiches at a great price! Had the New Yorker with spicy bacon, ranchero, and the b.e.s.t. All were delicious, but the spicy bacon was a little too spicy even for my Mexican taste buds. Also had a chocolate caramel cookie with mocha latte and coffee. Only problem was the sugar packets were stevia, and made my coffee taste bad. Aside from that, really good experience! Norma's is the cafe every neighborhood wished it had and it helps make Ridgewood feel complete. One of the things you'll notice when you visit Norma's is the organic sense of home. The staff always greets customers with warm welcomes, and everyone always seems cheerful. Norma's has great tasting coffee, and their sandwich/paninis are delightful. I don't even like paninis and I appreciate the paninis at Norma's. They also have good holiday drinks, special drinks and new things on the menu daily/weekly/monthly. Everyday they offer fresh baked pastries and also carry bagels from a local nyc bagel shop. They also have boardgames, books, things from the community being sold and normal / easy wifi to connect to. These are simple things all other cafe's get wrong but Norma's gets right.
