Folks in here are generally good. Shop here for a variety of reasons and purposes. They don't have the best prices on firearms and ammo, but their prices are still generally reasonable and the staff at the gun counter/sporting goods is courteous and helpful. read more

Stood in line for 20 minutes today and counted 16 people in the only other line that was open, by the time that I left could have been 25. There were 3 people standing around watching with North 40 badges but not motivated to open another line. This has been getting worse so I will take my business elsewhere. read more

On August 1st went to North 40. Stood in line that was was extremely long. One cashier. Some lady was helping someone with whatever, but would not let anyone in her line. Once done walked away. The one cashier had a problem so called help. Lady came to help him everyone still waiting. No backup called. Once she was done, she walked away. Employees just walking around. Never a back up called. It wasn't that busy that morning except for the long line. Some left instead of waiting. I needed what I had or I would've left. Poor management. I did feel sorry for the cashier trying to do his job. Not sure policy to call someone to help, but if you have 10-12 people in line & there are problems someone normally opens another register. read more

Dont buy meat chicken from them, you'll lose 10-20% and refund is only 24 hours of purchase. They just slowly die off. Some that lived were genetic midgets. Super low quality compared to slightly more expensive breeders. read more

Cool outdoor, animal, farm, fishing, shooting, clothing, etc. store. Very large with tons of stuff; could spend a long time in there. Fishing gear, guns, horse feed and saddles, generators, kayaks, winter clothing, boots, dog toys/treats, tractors, gun safes, snow plows, Christmas items, you name it. Some prices were good while others seemed a little high. Every employee we passed asked if they could help us. Plenty of parking out front. Definitely a place I'd frequent if I lived locally. read more

Floor staff are great, very helpful. Then comes checkout...... The cashiers at the Ponderay store are extremely slow and incompetent. Purchasing three cans of dog food (buy 3 get one free) and a pair of socks, I was charged $103.00! My card was in the terminal and charged before "I" caught the mistake. I was told go to customer service, which I did with my three cans of dog food & pair of socks. It took 10-minutes to find the mistake & correct it. I had been charged for three cases, not cans. The customer service gal informed me it was a slip of the finger mistake. No, it was a $100 mistake! This particular store #11, has many of these "slip of the finger" mistakes. North 40 merchandise is great, employees are not. read more

North 40 is kind of like a department store-sized feed-store. The have an outstanding selection, and fairly reasonable prices. However, pretty much anything they have can be had for less at Home Depot or Tractor Supply. The main reason I would stop at North 40 is if they're going to have everything I need without having to make multiple stops. They do run some decent sales on occasion, so I watch for their flyer in the local paper. read more

I love the merchandise at North 40 but I am handicapped and they are the worst. Every North 40 store that I have been to prioritizes customers who are not handicapped. They are the only store that has regular parking spaces closer than the handicapped parking. The store in Coeur d'Alene has handicapped parking by one door and the electric shopping carts by the other door that does not have handicapped parking. It's insulting. What part of handicapped do you not understand. read more

All the staff are extremely friendly and knowledgeable. The guy working the fishing area helped me out a bunch. My mom also bought a bunch of stuff for her chickens there and they helped her out a lot. read more

You know, when I see a review that is all five stars except for one person who is one star, it is pretty clear but the issue is not with the business but with the person at hand. The employees here are great, and handle themselves well. If they don't know where something is, or don't know about a certain topic, They do their best to find somebody that does know. I enjoyed the process when I was buying a gun here. They were so welcoming and helpful. I've gone to other ffl dealers and other gun store this was way better. They take their time with each customer and they never put down a questions. I'd take my kid or wife here if I was pick out a gun for them to shoot. This is my favorite store. They have EVERYTHING! I really discovered Carhartt clothing here. Before, I had a jacket and a boggin. I bought some pants and shirts and I really like the way they feel on me and the quality is first class. When they are out of what I want, I just order them directly from Carhartt and I get them quickly. read more

For outdoor supplies, I prefer this place over Cabela's. Friendly and helpful staff, prices competitive with the Wal-Mart across the street, and huge selection. They even have an entire aisle of fishing gear that's regionalized for north Idaho. Great gun department with knowledgeable salesmen, and no silly trigger locks to impede your inspections. Full selection of brand-name work wear, boots, western wear, etc. The hardware selection is great too. High-quality stuff, like Dewalt power tools and Husqvarna chainsaws (including the professional-grade saws). read more
