What's not to like about Fred Meyer? It's like classy Walmart. Fred Meyer, for those of you who don't know, is like a grocery store and a department store all in one. This location is very large. Even compared to other Fred Meyers. Some things to know (coincidentally why it's a four star review instead of five): First, the parking lot is awkward to get in and out of. It's shared. I made a rare visit to this store the other day. I actually found the item I wanted. I had to use one of their phones that gets you some help from somebody. I have to say one thing about Fred Meyers is that it must be a fun place to work because they like other stores have theme days. This particular day they must have had a "Dress Up Day. Got the app to shop for men and women's clothing, and baby clothing. In the search box I put men's shirts and only saw two. If you put in baby clothing or infant clothing, you get nothing except diapers. If you put in women's clothing, you get nothing except maybe some socks. I will be deleting this app because we don't buy groceries there but other items that are not even on the app. Very disappointing. read more

They did away the natural foods department and replaced it with alcohol which was a huge mistake. I have to run around the entire store (which is massive) to find what I need although I have since stopped shopping here for this and a few other reasons. Having cashiers stand out in front of the register is confusing and weird. Just have them at their stations ready to go. If I don't see a person at the cashier stand (which is where I'm looking) I don't think they are open. Please stop doing this!!!!!! They treat their employees horribly. This is a huge store. We don't have them in the state I live in, but they kind of remind me of a Walmart with the grocery store in it. We needed a few items for our camping adventure like groceries and a few RV items and they had everything we needed and then some. We went to self check out, and everyone in self check out had a blinking light because they're registers in self check out we're not cooperating and there were not enough people to help us. We would've been better off, waiting in the long lines with a real person checking us out . Great store for all your needs. read more

Me and my white girl Shalin went here to get easter things for my 8 nieces and nephews. Our family has a DEEP history with sweet-tarts. It goes back to 1836, my great great grandmother was going for 15 dollars. Little did they know we were a treasure. She used to tell stories of her master trying to create a candy, something sweet but something tart. He shared his ideas with her, knowing she wasn't gonna do much. But they ended up creating the perfect candy. Sadly, once slavery ended their partnership ended. R.I.P Sample Janine Jones. Anyways, we were trying to make a basket for them. ONLY with sweet-tarts. I felt slightly uncomfortable when we walked in, the first sight being a man. I couldn't even call him a man he resembled a little boy so much. He came up to me and Shalin, trying to sell us AT&T. Never in my 36 years have I ever encountered such rudeness. He wouldn't let us leave, I said "Sir... Please stop, you're scaring me.. I don't feel safe here" But he handed me a paper, it said "Join us". Tears stream down my face, sweat seeping down my forehead. I had to leave the area. I managed to get Shalin to hold my pinky, that made me feel safe. We ventured through the store as she finally got us away from this man. She let me sit in the cart. As we got near the candy isle, an employee nearly hit me with his big cart full of eggs. I looked at him in complete utter shock, how could he do this with eggs?! Shalin soothed my worries with a soft "Shh.", and that helped me get to the candy isle. I saw a sweet-tart rope, i've never seen that before and that changed everything for me. I needed to get 8 of them, luckily i got there in time before my Aunt Judy Ann came by. She's not apart of our black culture, I do not like her trying to steal our sweet tart tradition. We didn't get a chance to look at the dates of the ropes, as Shalin was a doll and paid. Once we got back home, i was just about to open up the sweet-tart ropes to assemble a basket..before Shalin stopped me. She got a glimpse at the expiration date and the date was "October 2024" Fred Meyer.. How could you? These are hazardous now, money was wasted. You are a monster. Curse you. CURSE YOU! I have one negative and one positive review, which is why I gave them 3 stars. Negative is the prices are way too high! Especially on organic produce. Almost $4 for ONE organic avocado? $3 for a stalk of celery? That's crazy. I know we are dealing with inflation, but surely there is a way for them to negotiate better prices for their customers! I usually have to ditch my organic preferences when shopping here. Now, for the positive, I often do grocery pickup, and Manny is outstanding. He is polite, friendly and warm and always has a smile on his face. It makes pick up so much better! Give that guy a raise! read more

Aggressive salespeople and representatives trying to stop you every time you enter and exit. They are willing to yell at you from a distance, and they do not remember they've already spoken to you, asked you the same questions. It's been months since this started and only gotten worse. Now there's another organization stationed outside, so if you're lucky you have to get through 2 sets of people trying to stop you before you can even enter the store. read more

A franchise staple of the Northwest. Great year long, seasonal sales. Very clean store, hard working helpful staff. Many have been there long term. I'd say easy parking,....but, narrow parking spaces so I usually park a distance and get my senior steps in, one two three. I buy my fresh crab here and salmon. A wonderful Fred Meyer as far as they go. Generally very clean with tidy aisles and a good selection of damn near everything. Great bakery and produce section. Currently undergoing a massive change in where items are located in the store so a bit chaotic. Service is solid but lines at customer service are long and the store can get very busy at peak times so sharpen your elbows. read more

BAKERY DOES A TERRIBLE JOB! Whatever you do don't buy blueberry muffins at Fred Meyer's. Go to Walmart or Costco instead. Just bought six in a package. Horrible customer service in the produce dept! I asked one female (I won't call her a lady) if she knew what aisle the coffee was on. She responded with a resounding "NO". I then asked a guy also working there in produce if he knew where the coffee was. He also said "NO" in an angry loud voice. I reported this behavior to the manager and suggested their staff get trained by the people at Super 1 (who will actually walk you to the item you want). I'll never shop at FM again. read more

oh, I used to spend between $400 and $500 every month at Fred Meyer in Coeur d'Alene. In the last two years customer service has gone to from OK to horrible. They obviously don't think much of their employees. For example, in the pharmacy it is way too small for the amount of customers that use it. They had the opportunity to enlarge it when the bank moved out and they did not. I very rarely shop there anymore. read more

I've always loved Fred Meyer for one stop shopping. It's not what it used to be though, not since Kroeger. Especially in CDA. It's a small store so not as many choices and the clothing choices used to be a lot better brands. Many of the grocery and beauty items I used to buy are only Kroeger brand 'choices' now. (if there is only the store brand, there are no choices) This store is a bit run down and I have had to contact management about a rude foreign woman who works in the store. I'm a big fan of this Fred Meyers. It's a large store but it's always kept clean, well-stocked, and they're always employees around to ask if I have any questions. So far I haven't encountered anyone not willing to help or find help when I have a question. Inside this location there is a Starbucks with plenty of seating, a Chase Bank, a children's play area, many large departments including fashion, toys, children, Garden, home and of course food. I enjoy shopping for groceries and other products at Fred Meyer so this review (suggestion) only ascertains to the pharmacy area. The floor is dirty and unkept. Behind the counters EVERYWHERE there are boxes stacked up to the ceiling. Very unsightly. May I suggest the pharmacy be given a much bigger space elsewhere in the store (maybe where Chase Bank once occupied?) because they have outgrown their limited space. I hope this review is taken as a constructive criticism. As a customer visiting the pharmacy, I feel sorry for the employees on the other side of the counter having to move in and around the cramped workspaces with stacked boxes. One of Coeur d Alene's friendly neighborhood market. I always enjoy shopping at "Freddie's" The store is huge, spacious aisles and always clean. It's almost a fluke when you encounter rudeness from the staff as they are all super friendly, I guess that's the beauty of living in smaller tight-knit communities, genuine customer service can be felt from the moment you get in and checkout. Fred Meyers has everything you want (almost) from Sporting Goods, House Appliance, Pharmacy, Produce, Apparel and ways to beautify your yard- they've got you covered. This review is for the pick up! I have been doing store pick up for a month or so now. I've done store pick up before, with the personal shopper, etc... but Fred Meyer has been hands down the best. The app is easy to use, notifies me of items for substitution and they have the best deals! The staff is always friendly and wants to help. Last week, I noticed my strawberries had a little mold on a couple "bummer". But, I called and they quickly refunded me with no questions. During a pandemic it's nice to see people all working together to help each other out with kindness, no matter the line of work! Kuddos! read more

Workers are nice, but they keep rearranging things . I like going to stores where I know where everything is, so that I can get in and out as quickly as I can. This is the second time that I've gone in and every single thing was moved to either a different aisle or a different spot. I had been a loyal customer for over 15 years at this one, but also because our area has become overpopulated, I started to going to another store. They only ever have 3 humans at checkout stations, and I dont like to wait in line for 15 minutes. It's become ridiculous. If i go through the self checkout, well i have produce and beer and coupons so i might as well just go through the 1 of 3 super long lines. Plus they keep rearranging everything so I never know where anything is at. I already stopped shopping there but I have to like once a month because Superone doesnt have a couple items I need. Store is fine. The pharmacy however, is terrible. You'll wait at least 20 min just to talk to a person. They said they'd have my Rx ready in 10 min, that somebody would call my name as soon as it was ready, and asked me to wait. 45 minutes later I went to the counter and my Rx has been sitting there and nobody told me. The worker just said "I don't know who told you we'd call your name, but here's your Rx". Seriously? The person standing right next to you told me that (and now is ignoring the conversation).
