I had a very disappointing experience with North American Risk Services handling my claim after being hit by a school bus. Despite providing photos, videos of the intersection, and giving a recorded statement, my claim was denied as "word versus word." I was told that unless I could provide video proof, the company would back their insured's version by default. A supervisor stated that "both statements can be true" and that I "could have been parked," even though there was no evidence to support that assumption. I was never contacted initially for my side of the story before liability was decided, and the denial was upheld based on speculation rather than a clear, evidence-based investigation. The insured driver's account was accepted despite inconsistencies, while mine was treated as insufficient without video evidence. Communication was slow, explanations were minimal, and the process felt biased toward the insured rather than impartial. As a consumer, this experience was extremely frustrating and financially stressful. NARS Worst Third Party Insurance Company. I am a loyal customer that pays my insurance monthly to now experience a home emergency and be treated horribly by this company. They are crooks hired by KW Specialty Insurance to do their work and avoid paying claims. If anyone is experiencing similar issues, which most are based on reviews, please send a complaint to the insurance Commissioner of their state to revoke their license. In April 2025, I recently had the misfortune of damage to my home and was assigned to Erika Speed, adjuster who is unprofessional as well as disrespectful, she is abrasive laughs at my issues and toggles between her ignorance and unavailability. I called her for over a month only to receive a call back for the first time today. She acted as if I was bugging her and interrupting her day. After the many voicemails I left she stated she had not received any messages. Also, I sent her all requested documents for her to say I still have not sent any items, although she confirmed receipt. I had to ask her for an update and her response was an irate tone before she disconnected the call. I contacted customer service while another representative and another adjuster on the team disconnected my call and others sent messages to her supervisor, Melissa Lovegrove, who always states they are unavailable or in a meeting. Ineed an insurance company that I pay to protect me in my time of need and my home that I live in to be decent, safe, and sanitary. At this point it is going on 2 months that it is not meeting these requirements. Now I'm stuck because this company fails to answer calls or follow up with their duties when I have done my part. I've been waiting 5 months on a renters insurance claim. Passed from agent to agent only to be told after weeks of being brushed aside and ignored that they don't work there anymore. They send an investigator after I have sent THREE DIFFERENT PEOPLE PROOF OF EVERY SINGLE ITEM THAT WAS STOLEN and now it's been another 6 weeks of being brushed aside and them spending more than the damn policy on this investigator for a legitimate claim with corresponding police reports and proof of loss. This is the worst insurance company I've ever had to deal with! They took over a month to contact us, and lost us thousands in value as we were intending to trade in our vehicle. They have made the experience a nightmare to deal with. If your damage is to a vehicle, they will have you get multiple quotes from repair shops and then make up their own quote (which they won't budge from). When you go to get it repaired, they make you pay out of pocket for a rental car and reimburse you after the fact (which I've never seen from an insurance company). THEN the will hold your funds hostage until you sign legal paperwork agreeing to their absurd terms. We tried to claim diminished value, and they don't take any professional reports into consideration and offered us pennies on the dollar for the amount of money this experience has lost us. The are rude, highly unethical, and slow to respond. I would not recommend this insurance company to anyone. read more

My claim number is # ICIN23040014. I was rear-ended by an 18-Wheeler (Commercial Vehicle) on 04/18/2023 in Los Angeles. I filed a claim through North American Risk Services (NARS) on 04/24/2023. They did not make initial contact until 06/01/2023. That was to inform me that my claim had yet to start. They needed to contact the driver to confirm their insurance coverage. The driver's company contacted me to check on me. They informed me that they had yet to hear from NARS and would contact them. I have sent countless emails and phone calls for updates to my claims adjuster for months. I am still waiting for responses or callbacks. I contacted my insurance company. They investigated and found the other driver at fault. My insurance advised me to go through NARS to have my vehicle repaired. I would have to pay a $2,500.00 deductible to fix my car. My vehicle remains damaged. I have not been able to drive it. I can no longer afford a rental, and not having a car will cause significant hardship for my family and me. I believe this is discrimination, and my case is being ignored because I am a minority. I do not think NARS is structured to help people like me. read more

I give NARS a negative 5 stars!! My renters insurance claim (GCKBIC23020002) has gone 1.5 years without resolution! I've been passed through 3 different claims adjusters since! I lost my home of 17 years and all my belongings in the aftermath of a fire, caused by the neglect of my neighbors cigarette. I was a connecting apartment to the completely destroyed fired damaged apartment. Ankle deep water from the fire department and soot from all the vents destroyed everything I owned, and also made the space uninhabitable. NARS did not even send out an investigator, which is mandatory when fire damage is claimed. The adjusters were less than empathetic to me being homeless and losing years of collectables and belongings. My out of pocket expenses have continued to add up, and NARS has yet to complete my claim, investigate, or help me with this life changing incident. I have completed all the paperwork NARS has asked of me. I continue to pay renters insurance through Goodcover, and I expect NARS to do the right thing by helping me with my claim immediately, because this is only my first stop with this information, my next stop is the Better Business Bureau, and then I will go above and beyond! read more

Hi - This was my first experience with them and I will look out for their name to ensure it will be the last one!!! As someone heavily involved in quality of care / customer service, I have to admit the level of inhumane response and unprofessionalism is beyond imagination. After ten weeks of filing a claim, providing details on the claim, organizing paperwork, sending the paperwork electronically and in paper, no payment was made. Although on the phone, I was greeted "nicely", yet the quality of service was very poor and very slow. Unacceptable delay in returning phone call (~15 times leaving messages until I received one phone call). After 20 emails in 70 days, I received NO response from my adjuster. I am an ICU physician and heavily involved with my patients and their family members during the worst time of their life. I understand importance of being there for your patients (my clients) and their family members. I feel this is beyond humanity. No decent humanbeing files a claim for fun. I was in pain, deserved services, and had no control to what happened to my house. Throughout the process, I received multiple feedbacks which confirmed my adjuster's non-existing knowledge about my claim (she did not even read my reports). Now, instead of planning our wedding, my fiancee and I need to focus on paperwork. We have finished all of our saving, which was supposed to be dedicated to our wedding and honey moon, and living in a hotel room. Overall, this was the only house claim I have ever had and I hope it never happens again. It seems I am about to SUFFER from NARISK, but I hope my review spare you from PAIN MY FAMILY AND I HAD TO GO THROUGH. My claim adjuster is Adrienne Young and her supervisor is Kati Nelson and the service I have received has been less than the bare minimum. My car got hit by a bus a few weeks back and I got in contact with their insurance company, NARS, to handle my claim. I have sent them all of the necessary documents in an expedited manner and have only been met with rudeness and incompetence. A car hit my building 2 1/2 months ago. The car has insurance but the claim went thru my insurer. To date they have been dragging their feet, having problems reading emails, making excuses, saying they sent a check next day air but when asked for tracking number said it went regular mail and so on. Its 1 wall, could have been fixed in 2 weeks . As it is a min of 3 months. The tenant and their insurance company are furious over lost income and I am as well. I have not received a check yet 2 1/2 months later. I saw the BBB has 18 complaints in the last 3 years and I will make 1 as well if the check becomes "lost" in the mail. read more

I am in absolute awe at the unprofessionalism I've experienced with this company! Hit by one their insured 18 wheelers, who's driver had an expired license and also was never listed as a driver on the insurance. I've had a change of adjusters 3 times, and none were trained in the art of communication and customer service! Accident happened 9/23/20, I'm still in limbo with no communication as of today, 7/30/21! My life has been flipped upside down because of this accident, and no one there seems to care one bit. I would give this company zero stars if at all possible. We were forced to use them as a sub-contractor of our insurance company. We have now been through three different claims administrators, the first of which was fired and did not respond to us for months. They do not respond, never send any financial details with any checks, are unapologetic, and clearly do not care about their customers. One of the worst companies I have ever had the misfortune of dealing with. Switched to 3 different, equally unresponsive people to handle my claim, without being told that the individual was being changed. Horrible communication. Our house flooded with sewage and they never told us that we could get a hotel o and that they helpw pay us back, nor did they set us up with a hotel (which I found out they could do later). To be honest we couldn't afford a hotel anyways, and I told them that, because we just moved and it took them A MONTH to clean the sewage- so they had us living in a biohazard for a month. The first guy later told me "well, it wasn't supposed to take that long to clean"- but he knew the situation we were living in from the start, and I kept updating him (though he ignored it). Myself and my husband got sick and one of my cats almost died. I pointed out their negligence with not helping us with a hotel and essentially said it sucks for us, maybe if we had receipts they would pay us back. Who can afford a hotel for a month and hope you get paid back. Then my boiler died from the moisture. I told NARS, waited two weeks for confirmation of some type and finally had to change the boiler because it was the middle of winter and a pipe burst. They flipped out that I didn't give them any time to respond and it has now been about 5 months and still no progress, they just told me they can't even tell me it will be within another few weeks. Such an awful company that is so unresponsive- reached out to managers, had to complain to Swyfft repeatedly so they would respond. I am glad they will no longer be working with them. They also ignored me pointedly even though I was the main point of contact and if they had to call someone they would call my husband, who only reached out to them once because they were ignoring my calls and I needed a "fresh" number. It seems to be a very sexist company that does not care about helping people and will not take into account that not everyone is rich- if you don't have money to pay for things that they should help you with sucks for you, 'nothing' they can do to help you- Wealth discrimination. Been 9 months of this now, and their neglect of this case has been horrible for my marriage and physical and mental health. Never once felt like anyone actually cared about this case. They responded to my Google review but I could not respond there- they asked for an ID but I have finally been contacted by a manager who was less than helpful and not very sympathetic to the fact that my case has gone on for over 9 months and it has been 3 months since I had to replace my boiler that died because of damage from my case and they haven't helped me with that at all. North American risk services is a joke, it's been a month since my accident and nothing, I have over $3500 in damage to my vehicle and they took it upon them self to send me a check for $1300 without even contacting me first. And then I finally called them to see what's going on and the adjuster told me to take it to the body shop and have them fix it for $1300 because that's what NARS so called appraiser said would cost to fix the damage.. I have a few estimates from legit body shops and all say it's more that $3500 to fix it. Something isn't right about this third party claims administrator company . read more
