Great atmosphere. Wonderful drinks. Should be on the list for post-dinner drinks during any visit to Pinehurst.

The staff are highly experienced in helping create a drink just for you based on your mood and time of year. I have always felt welcome and relaxed when walking in the door. They also have a really neat concept where you can pay for a locker and the bottle to store in there so you always have you own private stock for you and the boys when you show up! It is great at what it is, but don't expect a great variety.

My client loved his burger and I had the lamb burger which was delicious and spicy (and a bit over-sauced so definitely a 5-napkin burger!) And then dessert. The Lamb Burger was incredible the last time we had it, but today it came out closer to medium-well and was overcooked and very dry. The WK Burger was much better. It was juicy, flavorful, and the bacon was a good addition. The collard greens were also delightful, with just the right amount of spicy kick. Unfortunately, the entire experience was overshadowed by the flies. There had to be at least 20 houseflies constantly buzzing around and pestering us throughout the meal. It was difficult to relax and enjoy the food. Whiskey Kitchen is normally a solid experience, but the excessive number of flies completely killed the mood today. Three stars because parts of the meal were good, but the dining environment needs to be addressed.

The days of pounding shots in bars are long behind me and not fun anymore. But a cigar lounge and a glass of whiskey feels relaxed and more sophisticated. The Smoke & Oak has been on my wish list list for a while and I'm happy I finally went! The location is nondescript, looking like a normal house from the street were it not for the sign. Street parking was not difficult to find. Inside, the ambiance is great. Soft warm lighting, ample plush leather chairs for seating, attractive displays of cigars and a huge selection of whiskeys. The staff are passionate, knowledgeable, and friendly and made great recommendations. Walking in as a complete novice felt intimidating, and they made it much easier than I expected. I was taught basic terminology and options on pairings. Pricing felt reasonable and fair. The atmosphere was extremely laid back and relaxing. Socializing and networking with the other men was fun. You can tell the staff really cares about the experience. Outside, there was live music playing, and the back area had a calm, chill space where you can eat, talk, and enjoy the evening. Even the other guests were laid-back and friendly--it just felt like a great community space. Courtney met us when we entered and offered a tour! They outdid themselves! Then Roxy made us amazing drinks and offered cigar suggestions. Her personality is so bubbly! If you're looking for a comfortable, laid-back hangout spot with excellent service, premium cigars, and great drinks, this is the place to be!

The dip is always so delicious - it's one of my favorite appetizers ever. The pita is really good too. I think they recently started adding cheese to it too which is good but not really necessary in my opinion. At first, they brought us pita that was really burnt but our waiter told us she requested a fresh batch without us even saying anything which I think is great service. I also tried their garlic parm boneless wings & they were so good. I loved how seasoned & salty they were, although they might be too salty for some people. I really loved it though! Their cocktail menu is also really interesting & creative. It's mostly whiskey of course but they do have other spirits. I tried the peanut butter & jelly Old fashioned and it was surprisingly delicious. It really did taste like a PB&J so I highly recommend. The inside is small but there's a nice outdoor seating area too. This really is one of my favorite places to get food in the area BUT the only reason I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5 is because anytime I've been there remotely close to closing, they definitely let you know & make you feel rushed. I'm not one to go to restaurants last minute when they're closing because I know how that can make it difficult for employees, but being somewhere 45 minutes before they close shouldn't warrant getting rushed. I've been there before just to have a few cocktails at the bar about 45 min before closing & had the same experience. I still really love this place & will keep going (but probably not within an hour or so of closing lol)
