We are not from the Pinehurst area and walked into Sandhills on a whim. We walked in and were introduced to Mike (USMC) and sipped a nice Chardonnay while chatting with Mike and the other guests. The current hours (COVID) of this place are extremely hard to find and are not accurate on their website or door. HOWEVER, we finally got to go after moving to the area a couple of weeks ago. The wine selection is on point! Such a cute little spot and the lady that works there is a gem. Wanna hang out there? Grab ya a seat at the bar and taste some wine or go outside in the outdoor seating area. We bought eight (seriously) bottles of wine that day. read more

Okay, this a great place to socialize and sip on some nice wines. Covid did slow things down a bit, but they are gearing back up according to the owner, and will be having their wonderful tasting events as well an many others events soon. They have a good selection of wines, and try to keep a balance between some of the finer selections and some more modestly priced wines. Fo someone like myself, who worked in the wine world for years in both Sonoma and Napa, I can tell you there is a wine here for everyone. Folks around these parts may prefer sweeter and often less complex wines and this shop tries to keep wines that appeal to those taste buds. But if your liking is a big bold Cabernet with tannins they got them too. And their wines from other parts of the world are fun to dive intones well. The other thing I can attest to is that they go out of their way to give great deals on even the expensive bottles. It's a difficult business, trust me, and if the spendy stuff doesn't move it wont keep the lights on and they seem well aware of this and accommodate their patrons wallets as well as tastes. But best of all they are extremely helpful and downright delightful to be around. When you visit here you will never feel like you are in a store...but more like you are in somebodies home who happens to sell wine! Oh and I almost forgot, we just joined their wine club. Yes, they have that too and events for members. Bottom line, if you want great wines, a friendly place to make new friends and you don't want to feel like your credit card just caught fire....this is the place. read more

This is a gem of a place in Moore county! The proprietors of this establishment are welcome beyond belief. Plus, they are incredible knowledge of wines and a wide selection of wines to taste and purchase! A visit out to the Sandhills winery will not disappoint and will make you a loyal Customer for sure!! Great wine bar. Nice selection of wines. We like to go there, buy a bottle of wine, sit at their bar, where they will open it and pour you a glass. It feels like home. If you don't know what you want, Leslie and Bob always have great suggestions. If they don't have what you want, they can order it and have it in a couple of days. We had such a great time tasting wines until we (I) settled on the Butter Chardonnay Leslie was a fantastic host and let us try several wines until we decided what glasses/bottles we would purchase. We're from out of town, wanted a bonfire but couldn't find firewood so she and her husband graciously offered us a pass to their land to collect a few logs. Lovely atmosphere at the shop with lots of great trinkets and signs. Perfect spot to hang out with your friends outdoors or indoors to enjoy fine wine. Can't wait to come back!
